Even with Laterrian and Kendal the teams to beat that seem stronger were Janelle/Darrell and Brad/Jodi. They for sure would have been dark horses too but before knowing the outcome of this season I would have my money on those two teams over anyone else.
Janelle isn't stronger than Kendal and Laterrian is going to do better than Darrell in anything involving endurance plus strength. Laterrian won the mini final on season 1 by over 20 minutes. The guy who finished 3rd in the mountain climb in the actual final he beat seemingly by hours.
Kendal panics and would mess up a puzzle like she did on a challenge last season. My money still would have been on Janelle/Darrell and Jodi/Brad over them. Kendal is a nice awkward older lady but she isn't the best under pressure.
Except in a final, you get told immediately if your puzzle is correct and she'd have been able to fix it. Fact is, she was only one of two people to properly connect the pieces, but because they had no rotating mechanism, she left it alone to not risk falling in while fixing it.
Kendal never made it out of second quarantine, the presumption is she tested positive. Her recent Instagram story is either poking at that or confirms it.
