I'm pretty sure if has IG notifications on, then he would see "___ liked your post". if he clicks on it then it'll just show the pic but the like won't be there anymore but he would still know the username (assuming he looked long enough to remember). even if he wasn't on his phone at the time, I don't think the notification erases from the lock screen

They will probably see a notification that you liked it but if you unlike it the person can't see it again

yeah that would work then, assuming he wasn't on the IG app and saw the heart pop up right at the moment. if so, then he could just hit the likes tab and it's likely it wouldn't update with the unlike/updated profile until he refreshed the page. So if he hit the username, it would just take him to your new updated profile. And wouldn't disappear from his likes tab until that page refreshes since he was already in the app
