Look at last season. NOBODY thought to steal or want to be partners with CT except for Kam and Big T, Kam always proven to be one of the smarter players. She was the only one, besides big T, that really wanted CT as her partner. I think Amber B decided to not go with CT at first and chose Kyle, and we know Nany also didn't want to pick him- and allowed him to slide in the final. Fessy was the only one most people wanted.
The rookies are probably just being less mindful, like alot of castmates were last season. Not the first time we see it happen, and yet the same result was produced
