I'm not saying production doesn't make horrible decisions. The point is valid though that Melinda was far more relevant that you remember. There's a lot of girls I'd take over Melinda and Jodi but neither is a shocking casting decision and both fit the show. I'm not going to get Coral, Mallory, Elka, Genesis, Irulan, Julie, Holly S and Susie like I want so I'm okay with Jodi and even Melinda because at least they're old schoolers (Melinda borderline) that we haven't seen in a decade or longer. don't have a problem with you or anyone saying YOUR OPINION is that someone is boring. We all care about different things. For example, anyone that can compete isn't boring to me. That's 100% fine but WE all need to be able to acknowledge when they add something even if you found that boring or didn't care about it. Melinda added something--you just didn't care about it. I didn't really care about it either but I can acknowledge it.
Melinda shouldn't be a priority for casting but she wasn't invisible either.
Speaking of Austin, Lacey really should be on this. She was great on her one episode of Seasons, she deserved a return and it's a shame some of the clowns we got instead of her.

I don't care about the competitor aspect it has zero bearing on what makes a good season for. I watch actual sports with (mostly) fair and consistent rules for that. As a personality Chodi does nothing for me. I think Lacey's snark and wit is fun and hilarious. If this was America Ninja Warrior: Mom's Edition, I would love to see Chodi go for it.
I think y'all think I have a way bigger issue with Chodi than I do being cast. My complaint when I saw her was "another boring name" not that she is like the worst and most awful choice. But SO FAR the list is boring names plus Tina, Jasmine, and Tyler. Which means the tryhards like Tyler and Jasmine will get lots of airtime while the others contribute not much. Chodi would be a good background character if the cast was solid. But there's 8 names, likely 16 more to be added with changes, so I might have different thoughts come departure day.
