It's not an offensive costume. People just want an excuse to be offended by anything.

white people have a weird obsession with telling people of other culture what they should and shouldnt be offended by. Unhinged.

Queen tingz

If you're white you have no say on what's offensive to someone's culture... it's common sense

I agree that if people of that culture find it offensive then it's offensive. Period. But I also don't agree on canceling someone because of a costume that I'm sure she didn't mean any bad intentions by it. Find a middle ground people.

I wouldnt cancel Cara because of this but I also wouldn't minimize how someone else could feel about it. I think people are under the assumption that you cant feel both of those things together...

any slightest chance of hope she may come back in the future she does something to kill it lmao she was fun to have on the show while it lasted

ok, what about her entire family, her entire network of Egyptian friends who all say the same thing: who cares?

dressing up as cleopatra (aka a representation a strong female figure in their culture) is not in the least offensive to them, yet here you are acting as if it's offensive and throwing around buzzwords like it's your place to speak on it as well and as if you know how Egyptian people feel about it when you clearly dont

there are plenty of costumes out there that are offensive and disrespectful and worn with bad intent. All of those things should be taken into consideration before wearing a costume. However like I said, you seem to be offended without thinking if it actually is offensive lol

If this is cultural appropriation it will be her 2nd time doing it. She should know better aro. Shes said and done so many problematic things idk why you want to give hwr the benefit of the doubt lmao

you literally just said it was cultural appropriation. That is speaking on it. Look up the definition of appropriation, and that would show you that you are labeling it as something negative when you just said it's not your place to speak on it. So which is it?

Lol y'all gonna go back and forth about that?

who tf are u?

That was fun

Serious question, out of ignorance. I get black face being offensive due to it's origin and history. But I feel like dressing up as a culture is celebrating that culture? I don't understand it's offensiveness either. When I went to Africa they loved to dress us up in their traditional garb. They gave me some clothing to take home and the guy from the tribe asked me to wear it and send pictures back in it. I explained to him how that would be seen as offensive and cultural appropriation. He explained that they love when people where the clothing cause it helps people from around the world learn about their culture. I never wore it here though because I knew how it would be perceived.

see there's a difference between that and wearing their clothes for a costume party, Halloween, or just to take Instagram pics. That's how people get upset

Dumb ***** need to stop dressing up as peoples cultures as costumes...but she's never returning back on the challenge *giggles*
