If anyone has a link or a way to watch this for those outside of the US (Paramount/MTV really wants to lose its Canadian fans) could you please PM me!!

I really liked the 90s party they did. It was packed with good energy that's been missing

Dope episode. The Arena looks marvelous.

Preach.

Ace was definitely dealing with some depression or personal issues during this. You can tell based on his social media comments and demeanor. He's a very social guy so maybe the pandemic put him in a bad headspace?

I thought the same thing

He did a challenge mania podcast a few months back but even though he didn't say too much of the sort, you could just tell by his energy he was in a very bad place.

It's sad to see, he's always come off as a legit good guy.

"After listening to the challenge mania podcast where they reviewed the first episode, I am not sad to see Ace go. Derrick said that Ace stood and watched most of the comp while everyone else swam out 3+ times. Apparently Ace didn’t go out in the water to retrieve the puzzle pieces as many times as everyone else did. Derrick said even Aneesa and Jonna (who just gave birth) took more turns out in the water than Ace did.

Also, him calling everyone a “monster” in deliberation was oddly dramatic lol. Derrick said that they discussed what would be the fairest way to choose who would go in and since Ace performed the worst out of the men... they decided it was only fair that he gets picked to go in first. I agree. That’s not “monstrous”.

I know the guy has a rep for being the lovable life of the party but he has never been the type of competitor who comes on the show to compete hardcore."

Who said that?

Ace wasn't in the right headspace to be there. Anyone with the slightest intelligence can see that. He should have been the alternate, been given resources to get help for whatever he was dealing with, and then given a call next season based on how he was doing. Unfortunately though the "woke" media doesn't care about mental health and enjoy exploiting. We see time and time again on reality tv.

oh I was impressed with you PR, I thought you actually listened to it lol

Literally just watched the episode and they really should've had a 45 minute cast special this week and then a 60 minute premiere cause that wasn't enough. Good episode though and im glad their is something to take my attention off of season 36. Jisela, yes, and teck were stars in all different ways. The 90's party was amazing, refreshing and everything i missed about the main show. Ace got ****** by LT it was funny but sad to watch and aneesa's commentary took me out

Im liking Aneesa on this so far, this is a better fit for her to be somewhat liked

I still think there there was too much "challenge" in this first episode, which is also a problem with the main show. There's a lot of huge personalities this season that we haven't seen in a long time. Let them be the vocal point.

exactly, they should spend no longer than 10-15mins on the daily in my opinion

Exactly. Especially on this show, the characters can carry an episodes. I get that they can't on the new one. We are paying to watch this, lots of people are paying solely for this show. We deserve more than rushed 45 minute episodes with such a long time dedicated to boring challenges.

Yesssss.

Also, it warmed my heart hearing Ayiiia and Jasmine hyping up Jonna. It's amazing the journey she's taken and where she is now, friends with all of these people and fitting right in with the old schoolers. Also.. what did Ace expect after barely performing ****.

Naw lmaooo

1. I am not paying a cent to listen to Derrick K

2. I have the attention span of a 6 year old listening to a podcast with Derrick wouldn't help

^^^^ and why is he still on the gas at 75 years old?

Enjoyed first episode. I did think it showed their ages and hopefully the challenges are more catered to their abilities at advanced ages/challenge inactivity (for most of them).

Definitely a better vibe with this group than typical season. Agree that Ace didn't seem to be in a good place (at least to where we last saw him). Seems like a good dude.

Why did Aneesa come for Kendal in her interview during the elimination? That was random but funny at the same time lol

They are probably building up a Aneesa and Kendal rivalry or possible future elimination

There is drama between Kendal and the cast that begins to build in the next episode.  It's not just with Aneesa.

Yesssss!!! My girl kendal getting into that drama early this season i already know she's gonna be the star of some of these episodes

Queen Kendal.

One of the trailers showed Beth and Kendal having drama.

I really wanna watch this.

But I really don't want to give anybody my coins lol

Anessa is interesting on the show, she just struggles with her fitness sometimes. But besides that I totally see why she stays booked.

It seems like kendal's gonna have all the girls pressed just by her presence alone... I CAN'T WAIT

Her impact.

So I watched this and I loved it. It was really nice seeing all these people again...well except a couple.

Jiselea, Yes, and Teck all were highlights for me. And I do agree that Ace did seem a bit....off. Like he just seemed like he had alot on his mind that he didn't want to share. I also thought it was very odd of him to take getting thrown in personally and then talking about giving all the money away if he won it...He's definetly going through something.  But I did like that the old Ace shown through at the 90's party.

Speaking of that 90's party...that was so much fun to watch and it gave an energy that hasn't been seen in a long time on the regular challenge.

And One thing I noticed while watching...Anyone see alot of the black folk hanging out/talking alot? Like as a black man myself that really made my daying seeing that and that not being an issue.

And good on LT getting that W I wish. I really wish Ace would've put up a decent fight. Like he just didn't want it at all.

Overally good 1st episode and I plan on following this. Once again. Nice seeing so many of these people again. It's just so refreshing and it gave this show a feel that hasn't been present in a LONG *** time.

Agreed - also I personally don't need the intense challenges they do today, I find them boring to watch for the most part.  I was hoping for more light hearted ones but hoping they do focus more on the cast then the challenges.  Seeing Jisela do so well though made me happy - she showed most of the cast up and it was amazing.
