The fact Debut and I agree on something for the first time since probably 2014 it should be clear we're right lol.
Lmao this isn't as good of a fact as you think it is. Your opinions are....interesting.
Also there is no right or wrong in this as it's more of an opinion and just shows what kind of person you are depending on what side your on. I'd feel some kind of moral responsibility but that's just me.
Ngl seeing her like that broke my ******* heart. She had her flaws but you could tell she has a genuine and sensitive heart. I hope she's able to conquer this and still has people who care for her in her life
I don't see what's wrong with mtv just giving her a phone call asking her how she's doing or something like that. But yes they agreed to do this shit and face the consequences of their mental health. I use to want to do shows like this but I would never now that I know it could ruin you.
I doubt she ever thought it would ruin her when she did her season of the real world and the challenge in like 2004, she probably just saw it as an amazing opportunity like I'm sure most others have thought
Some of ya'll coming in here to say you essentially don't give a **** about Robin but mad some of us said something about Cara's ugly *** dumb horse dying really doesn't make ya'll any better than us. That's THAT on that.

I think both Trump and Biden suck, don't like either political party fyi but most def do not support Republicans and their white supremacy bullshit. I'm not with that first and foremost.

There's nothing wrong with MTV calling. Its just not a realistic expectation.
I think the biggest disagreement here is whether or not the show is to blame for Robin's situation.

Millions of people end up in the same position as Robin without reality tv. I don't necessarily think reality caused it but they exploited it for sure. You can see her start to slip and they mocked it instead of offering her help. I don't think they are required to help her but she was a part of their franchise for many years, they could at least use their resources to try and get her the help she desperately needs.

hmmmm yeah I would have to say it's a mix of her and mtv to blame for where she is. As there are many people who have come out of these shows just fine mentally. The show definitely took a toll on her but you can't really blame mtv for her signing the 9 contracts she signed. It's a tough situation all around

You are more leftist than lib. You actualyl care about people's mental health and don't think all is going to be okay now that one politial party holds office.
But all this talk about how MTV isn't responsibie isn't right. Especially if they are aware of what is going on and just throw there hands up and say "not my problem". This analogy compairing them to another employeer of 10 years ago isn't accurate.

I don't think we're arguing whether they are to blame or not. There are always outside force. What we're saying is that compaired to what finnancial postion bmp/mtv are in, their past cast pool is still soooooo small that they can at least follow up and lead these people on the right path instead of just dispoosing them when they no longer have value.

And I respect/understand you saying that they could or even should follow up. We do disagree that simply because they can afford to do it they should do it. So a lot of it is obviously how we view the world. I just don't know, using that logic, where they would stop.

If you're talking about me (as per usual) all I believe I said was it seemed like the wrong time. I wasn't "mad" about it. And it isn't not caring about Robin--it's whether or not MTV has any responsibility/obligation. I believe everyone hopes things turn around for Robin.
Did anyone really know that Robin was this level of crazy? I never got that from the show. I just thought she was paranoid and couldn't handle the game.

I mean, for that alone we should be hailing Robin as a hero.
MTV isn't liable but of course they should do something if they care. Most of those network executives probably wasn't there ten years ago when she was on Exes and now vaguely remember her I think BMP is the one that should be doing the digging and reaching out. Basically to the extent of if I had a co-worker that I never talked to but I seen once or twice and wasn't close to at all and then years after you see them on social media somewhere crying out - the likely hood of you responding first to help is unlikely definitely if it wasn't any sort of relationship and definitely years after.
I think this disdain should be towards the people at BMP who had close relations with her and her past cast members who were "friends" with her in real life.

Those saying MTV doesn't care about mental health are correct. They only did the PSA because of today's climate. 5 years ago Lio would have been absolutely destroyed on this board for quitting. 10-15 years ago it would have been even worse. My point wasn't that MTV isn't being "fake" when they do the PSAs. The point is they don't owe Robin or any past cast member anything at all.
MTV provided them an opportunity. Some people used that to better their lives. Some did it simply for the experience and moved on. Some made the CHOICE to try to make it a career. That was their decision. They were all adults and knew exactly what they were getting themselves into. They did it for the fame and the money. Fame comes at a price.
Robin's friends and family all watched her decline and apparently did nothing or, if they did, Robin refused their help. The show isn't the reason Robin's life is a disaster. Her life is a disaster because of her decisions. She clearly needs help and I hope she gets it but she has to accept the help and she has to be the one that makes an effort. No past employer is going to make it a priority. Those that actually care about/love Robin need to step in not MTV.
If the Real World still existed I would say they should offer psychological assistance following their season for up to a year but not for the rest of their lives.
I actually agree with KVM too (omg lol). While Robin was known on these shows for being paranoid, they aren't responsible for her mental health 10 years down the line. So they give her a call (if they can even find/reach her) and ask her what's up, what then? Legally, this probably wouldn't be the best idea either.
I am not arguing that there shouldn't be resources out there for her, I certainly hope this country comes to take mental health more seriously. I just don't think an ex-employer who hasn't employeed them for 10 years is at all responsible or obligated to pay for help for her.
As PR pointed out, she clearly a sensitive/easily influenced person and it appears her husband took her down a dark path. I hope she gets the help she needs but there needs to be a combination of personal willingness to want and seek help too.

The real story behind that is that she got really mad at Paula for something and decided to scrub the toilet with her tooth brush, but grabbed the wrong toothbrush and ended up using Camila's lol

the disclaimers were always to protect their image than to protect viewers or anyone else-- they don't wanna be liable for promoting it

I remember hearing this
Imagine the litigation that would be created if MTV started helping former cast members that had mental breaks years later...
