I would love to see MTV reach out and help people like Robin but I truly don't believe they have any kind of obligation to do so. MTV has given these people amazing opportunities that thousands of others would love to have and they made bad choices in life. MTV isn't responsible for that.
Do you wake up every day thinking how can I say something even more ridiculous than the day before?
Apparently the word obligation is confusing for you.
I actually Agree with KVM(Shocker!) These people are adults and need to be responsible for their own ***** at the end of the day. It's not MTV"s Job to help these people. They didn't force these people to do these shows.

Yeah, but they have no issues bribing them to come on and exploit their issues. Everyone in production knows the toll it can take on their mental health, the least they could do it offer mental help for the contestants. The have no problem capitalizing on their struggles until it gets too dark then they just toss them to the side like trash.

Well they said Yes knowing what being on RTV is and what it can do to you. At some point personal responsibility comes into play.
Obviously there is no legal obligation and MTV isn't responsible but they should feel some type of moral obligation for certain situations. Robin for years even when on the show showed clear signs that she was not ok and they had no problem editing her out to be a crazy person. I would bet money her being on the show only made her mental worse. When she first got on the show to Exes was night and day.
It just looks so bad that like a week ago they put a psa on the screen for mental health and yet here they are not helping robin especially when she did a bunch of these shows... I would even dare to consider her a staple on the challenge at one time.
They only care if they allow to film it, so they can look good. They offered help to Ayiiia when she was cutting on her real world season but it had to be filmed since she declined to do that on camera then they took their offered away.

But Robin hasn't been on tv in nearly 10 years and is close to 40 at this point. I feel bad for the position she seems to be in, but MTV is not liable for it in the slightest.

Specifically in Robin's case, she started on the Real World. Which if anyone has seen what that contract looks like, it's essentially signing your life away to producers.

They are not liable but it seems like some human decency wouldn't hurt.
Obviously MTV doesnt have any type of formal obligation to step in (i think we all know that) the point is if theyre gonna do all of this performative activism pretending they care about social justice and human rights etc. they should put their money where their mouth is and practice what they preach and have some way of reaching out and helping out their former cast members
Those saying MTV doesn't care about mental health are correct. They only did the PSA because of today's climate. 5 years ago Lio would have been absolutely destroyed on this board for quitting. 10-15 years ago it would have been even worse. My point wasn't that MTV isn't being "fake" when they do the PSAs. The point is they don't owe Robin or any past cast member anything at all.
MTV provided them an opportunity. Some people used that to better their lives. Some did it simply for the experience and moved on. Some made the CHOICE to try to make it a career. That was their decision. They were all adults and knew exactly what they were getting themselves into. They did it for the fame and the money. Fame comes at a price.
Robin's friends and family all watched her decline and apparently did nothing or, if they did, Robin refused their help. The show isn't the reason Robin's life is a disaster. Her life is a disaster because of her decisions. She clearly needs help and I hope she gets it but she has to accept the help and she has to be the one that makes an effort. No past employer is going to make it a priority. Those that actually care about/love Robin need to step in not MTV.
If the Real World still existed I would say they should offer psychological assistance following their season for up to a year but not for the rest of their lives.
The show clearly lead to her demise and anyone who watches could tell you that
The Robin we saw on Rivals/Exes was FARRRR from the Robin we saw on Gauntlet 2/Inferno 2
just like tonya by the ruins was not the same tonya, and i believe if nany did not take the long break she did she definitely would be down a darker path
it could not be more blatantly obvious what this show has done to people ESPECIALLY some of the girls

Exactlyyy I'm actually surprised worse situations haven't happened. Let's say after Ruins Tonya was online saying she was going to off herself because of the trauma she went through. Should MTV stay away from that and just let her make her own decisions? They don't need to step in legally but I feel like they should have some type of moral responsibility to check in on her.
Robins last show was a while ago but I think they should at least check on her. Then again this is more of a human decision than a company decision and those with the powers that be probably have the same mindset as KVM where they can use these girls and throw them to the gutter without any remorse.

Take another Ambien and go back to bed. You're so dense. Your whiteness and MAGA ways show. I've had enough of you today, it's not even 10am.
You can keep attacking--you aren't able to make a sound argument so that's all you have. I understand.
So you AREN"T going to take another ambien?
He should take 2 so he can sleep until tomorrow, to be honest. The one time I took 2 I slept for well over 15 hours, I recommend you do the same KVM. Put the cane down, turn the computer off, take your meds and night night. I'm calling the nurse to put you to bed.
The fact Debut and I agree on something for the first time since probably 2014 it should be clear we're right lol.
You are assuming Robin has friends and family not associated with the show.
Even though its been years MTV did enable her and gave her a platform.
Robin isn't the only woman we've seen this happen too. Tonya, Camila, Cara, even Nany before this season was following a similar pattern.
You're correct that is an assumption on my part that she has family and or friends. Completely agree.
I don’t believe for a second the show led Robin or Tonya to break. It was their lives outside the show with the exception of the alleged incident on The Ruins. Tonya had broken long before that though. Long before it.
y'all think MTV is gonna pay for therapy and keep tabs on EVERYONES mental health that they gave a platform to? Robin hasn't been around in years, why would they take the time to check on her? MTV isn't responsible for her. if it's a current person, sure. but someone who hasn't been on an mtv show in well over 6 years...... where's the need? at that point it's not MTV and reality tv that's hurting her.
He's gonna complain for the mods to ban you for age shaming. Dude can dish it but not take it.

they aren't negatively effecting their image though, plus seem to be willing to do what they want

I see both sides morally MTV should reach out and try to help you but you can't expect a job you had 10 years ago to break their back over you.
