The twist should be if you go into multiple eliminations and win you get multiple skulls and at the "final" You decide who to give your remaining skulls to. So that person has a bounty on their head, but if they make it to the end have a lot of power determining how difficult your rivals are in a final. Skulls are regardless of gender.
Even one extra skull could be super powerful if you can hold it the entire game.
Or you can give your red skuls to another player at any point to avoid a target on your head.
If you're going to have skulls I'd prefer:
Have a individual first challenge where the top 5 guys and girls immediately get the only skulls in the game.
If you win 3 dailies you get to steal someones skull of your choice, but not eliminate them. If u already have a skull you can shift a skull of your choice (perhaps to give your partner one if you like them). This is the only way to get a skull besides beating someone with one in elimination.
If someone with a skull gets Dq'ed or purged then its up for grabs at the next elimination
It would incentivise people without skulls to target the weakest of the people with them instead of just the weakest people in general.
Winning 3 dailies = an advantage, leads to no drama on the show. Every episode needs some sort of pay off and if one person just dominates or no one gets to 3 it gets flat or boring. Too much uncertainity.
The most dramatic and conflict filled skull twist is like The Island. Only X amount of people can get to the final and everyone is fighting for one of the "skulls".
They could take your idea of a first challeng with a "top 5" of each gender and then if you win an elimination you have to knock someone off the 5 leaderboard. This could lead to big alliances running things but also force issues for groups larger than 5.

Production was pretty inventive w the Ruins money twist and Island concept, they've gotten really lazy since then. At least they were the first to think of "rivals" as a theme but now w the money steal twist it's played out.
They had a good idea with Invasion, but they should take it further doing a "Haves" vs "Have nots" season and depending on how your team is doing you're either living in the mansion or living on some desserted island/total madness house.
I sincerely hope they stop doing red skulls. I understand not wanting people to skate by, but it's so unfair when the girls' chances are depleting rapidly because so many of them are DQing/quitting. And then there's the notion that if 10 people have to make the final, what happens if the final ten people don't have their red skulls? It could actually be possible from here on out for only one person to obtain their red skull.
This twist is flawed and it's just perpetuating the idea that eliminations prove someone's worth. The only true way to do this red skull twist is that they do it in the same style as Invasion where if you win a daily or win an elimination, you get a ticket to the final OR winning elimination exempts you from elimination until everyone has a red skull (which still poses a problem if people DQ).

how is this castings fault.. they're just taking a chance hiring and casting new people it's not their fault that they are getting dq'ed its not like they casted them with that intention lol
I don't think that in this forsat the "red skull" works the same as in the past, because you can have many friends, you can ask them to vote for you, but a winning pair can ruin everything and send a strong opponent against you

How he let people go against Joseph, Meechie, Josh, and Lio and not try to get any of those. Last season he went in super late and Nelson voluntered so he wouldnt have to go in again, he needs to stop chilling everytimeand i hope no one sacrifiucing for him this season.

I dont even like Nany but how are yall acting as if she' stupid for not going in against Natalie, Ashley (who she's lost to) and Tori/Aneesa? Im positive Amber B got the other Amber because of a daily win. It isn't weird of Nany to not have gone in yet. Maybe she's waiting for Big T.
I think with the new way they're doing it getting early becomes much less important. If you're one of the first 5 to get you're skull your target goes way up when there's no skulls left because everyone is looking for someone to steal from. So you'd either wanna go early and hope your game is good enough to keep you out for the rest of the season, or wait a little closer to the end in hopes no one tries taking yours
At this point i dont think the girls are putting off trying to get there red skulls, or waiting for a certain person to go against. It seems like theyre just waiting for there to be an actual girls elimination day. I wouldnt be surprised if theres going to be a lot of scrambling and drama in the house now as the girls try and get themselves a spot in elimination for the final weeks.

Eliminations are realistically unpredictable where anything can happen. I know it's smarter to get your skull ASAP but there's no guarantees just look at CT last season. Also, y'all seem to forget that no matter when you get your skull, you can still be targeted just look at Jay during Total Madness.

I actually really enjoyed it last season but I definitely didn't want it to come back this season...especially in such a similar format.
