PSA if you're not black you shouldnt be talking about what black people should or shouldnt be mad about. The RACISTS are revealing themselves in this thread.

Reading thru this thread shows me exactly why I avoid it & the show in general b/c I would be roasting & dragging all day and I don't have the time lol

Kevin has hands down the worst read in the house.

Oh god, people on Twitter are starting to call her Evel Dani

Can someone post the video of Memphis calling David boy I am legit curious to see it. People claiming he said it on the feeds and not in the nominations.... yet the only video I have seen is from David talking about how he is playing up the nomination cereomy to be more dramatic and get people's votes.

Like twitter and big brother fans are more pressed about whatever was said then David who saw/heard first hand

There is no video because it was during the nom ceremony which isn't on feeds. BB twitter doesn't need facts to cancel people

There are literally crazy Big Brother fans giving bad reviews to Memphis's restaurants like that only affects him. Awful people

Coming on BB with huge stakes like that, Memphis should know better. Everyone knows the BB fans are crazy and if a houseguest says or does anything deemed offensive.. those crazy fans can't reach the players so they go after families and businesses.. happens every season.

This is why if you have the option to do Survivor or Amazing Race you do it over Big Brother. Crazy Big Brother fans are a different breed because of live feeds. Memphis is being a ****** but its a game and has nothing to do with his businesses

then why are people saying they saw him say it on the feeds. Everyone about to look dumb if he never even said boy

Twitter Big Brother fans look dumb every minute of every day. There's serious psychos out there and for some reason, Big Brother fans are the worst because people get to watch the live feeds and think they're part of these people's lives.

Idk how you guys watch this every season I am close to giving up on this again after a week and half. Why does the most horrible people are always the one in power? Why the outsiders are a bunch of clueless dummies that allow them to have the numbers while ratting each other out until they are out number?

yes and people think other shows don't have the same issues. I mean look at survivor... you really think a cast member has never been singing a song and dropped the N word or said boy to a person of color it that shit is not shown. Big brother it is 24/7 live which is why so many ppl get attacked

"Most southern white Americans who grew up prior to 1954 expected black Americans to conduct themselves according to well-understood rituals of behaviour. This racial etiquette governed the actions, manners, attitudes, and words of all black people when in the presence of whites. To violate this racial etiquette placed one's very life, and the lives of one's family, at risk.

Blacks were expected to refer to white males in positions of authority as "Boss" or "Cap'n"--a title of respect that replaced "Master" or "Marster" used in slave times. Sometimes, the white children of one's white employer or a prominent white person might be called "Massa," to show special respect. If a white person was well known, a black servant or hired hand or tenant might speak in somewhat intimate terms, addressing the white person as "Mr. John" or "Miss Mary."

All black men, on the other hand, were called by their first names or were referred to as "Boy," "Uncle," and "Old Man"--regardless of their age. If the white person did not personally know a black person, the term "n*****" or "n*****-fellow," might be used. In legal cases and the press, blacks were often referred to by the word "N****" with a first name attached, such as "N**** Sam." At other times, the term "Jack," or some common name, was universally used in addressing black men not known to the white speaker. On the Pullman Sleeping cars on trains, for example, all the black porters answered to the name of "boy" or simply "George" (after the first name of George Pullman, who owned and built the Pullman Sleeping Cars)."

"In most situations, the word "boy" is not a problem. Used to describe an African American man, however, the word is troublesome. That's because historically, whites routinely described Black men as boys to suggest African Americans weren't on equal footing with them. Both during and after enslavement, African Americans weren't viewed as full-fledged people but as mentally, physically, and spiritually inferior beings to whites. Calling Black men "boys" was one way to express the racist ideologies of yesteryear.

Despite its widespread use as a racial putdown, in Ash v. Tyson Foods, the U.S. Court of Appeals decided that "boy" cannot be considered a racial slur unless it's prefaced with a racial marker such as "Black." This decision has sparked controversy, considering that whites typically didn't call African American "Black boys" during Jim Crow, but simply "boys."

The good news, according to Prerna Lal of Change.org, is that the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the holding, ruling that "the use of the word 'boy' on its own is not enough evidence of racial animus, but that the word is also not benign." That means the court is willing to consider the context in which "boy" is used to determine if it's being uttered as a racial epithet."

It is racist, and at the very least is contentious. So why anyone would argue it doesn’t have racist connotations is beyond me.

I’m not saying that whatever happened was racist. I haven’t seen any video evidence so I can’t be the judge of that (as there seems to be disputes if it even happened). But I do think it needs to be addressed here that calling a black man “boy” is, at minimum, problematic.

I dare anyone triggered by this information to go up to a black man and say boy to his face. Let me know how well received that is.

Idk how you guys watch this every season I am close to giving up on this again after a week and half. Why does the most horrible people are always the one in power? Yea it's a struggle.. I typically give up after my favorites are gone.. which is typically around week 5/6. The last season I watched all the way until the end was BBOTT.

We lost Keesha to this guy? What a ******* joke...

I didn't even name names but i guess if you're mad then it applied to you. I have to laugh.

And it's always the same to people lmao. It's just sad.

It's officially **** Memphis, he allegedly said some nasty shit to David during nominations plus Nicole A is bawling her eyes out now too.

Memphis said "welcome to the Grown Ups table"....not nasty at all.  He was nicer than he should have been

Refering to a black man as "boy" is ignorant. The racial undertones of what he said are there. It also didn't need to be like that because David was the easiest nom, instead he added salt in the wound for no benefit to his own.

david has got last in every BB comp he has been in.... why you trying to make race an issue when it isn't. David & Nicole A are sadly they least worthy All Stars

Again, calling someone a "boy" has a long negative history. Memphis likely didn't mean it in this way, nor was David nominated for being a minority, but it's still an problematic.

It's only "problematic" if someone wants to create something out of nothing.  This is all nonsense.  David literally on the feeds admitting he played it up.   ADMITTED.  You fell for it.  And he's an idiot for doing it given the current climate.  Memphis deserves an apology.

wtf is this? Rather he said it or not the fact that you literally sat here and tried to deflect from what she posted is ignorant.

You have been here for a while, you have got to be honestly one of the most annoying ******* people on this site. You go around looking to play devil's advocate with shit you know ******* nothing about. I know you like to debate but at least have some ******* merit to it. Stop trying to argue just to ******* argue.

The 2 questionable people on this site always defending the questionable people on these shows

I'm not arguing to arguing.  What was said about Memphis was unfair and uncalled for.  I don't have to pretend other people are right when I don't believe they are.  Nothing Memphis did was "problematic".  Deal with it.

Time stamp where David said he admitted to playing it up.

Dont know the time time but BB_Updates on twitter (a live feed account) posted the conversation at 9:36pm Central so I would imagine right before then so 7:36 bb time

Veto is today and im hoping Memphis or anyone else who won't use the veto wins. I want noms to stay the same and for either Nicole or David to go home

So we can have another predictable drama free week? Would put Memphis in a tough spot if Veto is used.

I think there will be drama if noms stay the same. Different people would fight over evicting Nicole or David

and then they wanna know the timestamp when David was called a "boy"  lmaooo

So Nicole wanted us to know the speeches.

Memphis told her: "I told you to play the saftey suite and you didn't"

David: " He said something about playing with the grownups, which sounded like he was calling him a boy"

So I am sorry, Call me a racist but if that is true people blowing this shit way to up. David is a CHILD in this game. He played in his first HOH comp and casted his first vote 2 days ago. He doesn't deserve to play, originally I thought yes I am ok with him being on, he seemed to have a read of what was happening last year but like this year not sure if he is dumber or I am missing something but he has zero idea what is going on in this game.

I saw a video posted of the conversation but it did not have a time stamp on it. So I mean to me that is seeing it.
