majority of recent challenges twists have never hit to me. I don't even like how they did season 35's twist thus far either. I actually liked the kill card on Free Agents and the randomness of Dirty 30 because it's a milestone season and it just made sense to me to have a wild card season. But outside of that the redemptions, the purges, double eliminations, the mercenaries, the grenades, white skulls, etc. have all flopped. What would we say were the worst format/twists of the earlier seasons were without the nostalgia kicking in? It's hard for me to really find major flaws.

I will say that if we got another Duel in the past I would have liked for them to change the format again because Duel 2 was tiring.

There didn't use to be any twists though, they just do them do try and be exciting, Survivor & BB have done the same and fans hate them too(causing them to double down and make even worse twists) I just want a straighforward theme that they follow to the end. This twist just sucks, and TJ telling everyone constantly to go into elimination is just annoying when the whole point of most seasons should be to avoid eliminations whenever possible

Gotta disagree. I love seeing everyone in elims. Makes it way more exciting imo

Forcing them into eliminations defeats the purpose of the game. The point is to win missions and stay out of jeopardy of going home. It also eliminates drama if people are wanting to go in. You shouldn't be punished for having a good physical or social game. TJ sucks and needs to ****.

The elimination set up for The  Ruins wouldve worked where you get money based on earned performance....

Im sure these poor producers hadn't even considered such (bless they hearts)

Most of the time TJ sais something about "getting a red skull" is a voice over. I just think production didn't think they would be triying to volunteer to go to elimination constantly, and the twist backfired

I've been rewatching old seasons and 90% of TJ's lines are voice overs. It's really bad.

Im still annoyed they didnt do it for vendettas when it was the only other season with individual bank accounts

Cast members back then said he would mess up his lines multiple times. Lol

They really need to get a new host. TJ is horrible and has been horrible since day 1.

Johnny Mosley will always be my fav, he seemed high as a kite but I loved his vibe lol

a twist now and then doesn't bother me too much but I'm so over them. I think a straight laced season under the rules of the original Inferno would be interesting, the other team voting someone in and then that person has a chance to win a life shield to not go in.  I do like hearing that BB & Survivor fans also hate these twists. I really feel like the new players who never saw a game like back in the day, mixed with some old schoolers who have would get schooled quickly and feel loss for a hot a second. After rewatching dirty 30 and seeing how Veronica was such a curve ball for them all (Johnny constantly saying it, Kailah & Tony not knowing what hit them when during the Leroy vote, etc) - personally I think it would be interesting.  Plus it would open casting up more too.

I don't get why reality shows think they have to do too much with twist and it consistently ruins the quality and integrity of the show. Big Brother, Survivor, and The Challenge have all fallen victim to this when in reality all we need is a quality cast.

they call him Ten-Take TJ for a reason Wink

they call him Ten-Take TJ for a reason

Don't know how someone like that stays employed for 15 years

He isnt that bad anymore but his first couple of season it was really bad a lot of time wasted doing his takes.

They give him his script  as soon as he get to location 2-3 days before the cast get there

It annoys me that they can't stick to one thing and have to constantly have all these twists and purges and things added for shock value. It hurts the strategic portion of the game a LOT. Strategic players can't plan ahead and make long term plans when every round is something new.

You hit the nail on the head here.

That's kinda a good thing IMO.

My apologies if this has already been posted and/or discussed.

Also Roark Luskin (season 35) was recently on a Challenge podcast that I listen too and she mentioned that she knew some survivors that were getting calls (she did not divulge any names) Smile

They were not the ones that got availability calls as far as I heard as of now.

I hate when people from different shows start doing this on social media we have seen it every time a new show is introduce. They wouldn't call you over talking shit on twitter lol

I think this is an embarrassing look for Aaron. I liked him on Survivor but not sure how he would fit in on The Challenge.

Aaron's 37 lmao, he's never getting a call. Missy has to wait in line behind Michaela & Cydney, both of whom should and likely would get calls before her, as well as quite a few other Survivor girls

Why you only putting her behind other black girls.

Michaela and Cydney likely will get calls before missy? Huh? I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but it has been 4 years since Cydney's season of Survivor. That's would be a pretty long layoff for a MTV debut let along somone from a CBS show. Michaela I'll give you given she's been on survivor twice and was on the same season as Jay.

Surprised MTV wasn't interested in Missy given her military background. Then again maybe they'll finally pump the breaks on the war motifs.

I only know Michaela and that's the only person who deserves to make the jump imo.

Glad we got your opinion

We're gonna get someone useless from Survivor.  I just know it.

Because we haven't gotten a single female from Survivor yet so we're not getting three black female rookies from Survivor cast together, that's pretty much a fact. Michaela likely gets the first call, if she says no then Cydney's likely going to move up the totem pole. Just the way I see it though
