I thought Tori Hall was supposed to be on this current season ?

I've been watching old seasons, I miss them showing them have fun. I love the scenes where they are just partying and being a drunk mess but actually having fun and not desperate for screentime. The show is an hour longer than it used to be, they should be able to edit in some fun moments.

this, 100%. It's not fun watching people be miserable 24/7. The old 30 min episodes got a lot more accomplished and were more entertaining imo than the hour or hour and half long ones...which is crazy.  I miss that vibe and energy

sadly no. Although with how it's set up it would have been perfect come back season for her or really anyone.  She was heavily speculated but I think it's because she took a social media break when the cast had left or something like that.

I also miss the 30-minute episodes.  But more than anything, I miss the dailies they used to post online a few hours before the latest episode aired.  They were uncut (bad language and all) and showed more than the regular episode did.  I'll never understand why they stopped posting them.  They already had the footage since they were filming all the time and it couldn't have cost much, if anything at all, to post them on their website.  I guess I'm just nostalgic for the earlier Challenge years.  I still watch clips of those shows online because the people on them are so familiar, unlike the current ones, who I find to be way too self-absorbed and attention-hungry.  But that's just my opinion.

Im happy mtv is casting so many asian women on the challenge lately (ninja, dee, kaycee, jenn) but what about asian men? Im sure there are some frat party playboy asian men out there lol. I cant remember the last time they casted one other than noor and even he was a one and done castmember.

Other reality shows have to cast them first...

Adam from antm would be a great choice.

Well, we've had Fessy, Asaf, and Turbo, but yeah I'm with you on that. It's a bit ridiculous that that whole demographic has basically been overlooked (also excluding Yes and Steve, two half-Asian men from back in the day).

Unpopular opinion but I'm watching old challenges and I love Kenny.

I'm surprised Justin from ANTM (or any ANTM people in general) have never really been on the radar for the show except Clara Tan & she was from Asia's version.

Clara tan was the only dumb one to make it public. A lot of randoms have gotten that email.

Yes omg! Wasn't kiara from the college cycle suppose to be on champs vs stars I think?

Hm. Now that you think about it they would cast people from ANTM. I'm surprised noone has been brought on from there too.

Interesting article Susie wrote. I know someone of you have different views on her (mine are positive as I am a brainiac lol) but it compares a Challenge house to this quarantine. It's interesting, take a look:

Another old interview but I found it in an old Katie thread:

http://www.realitywanted.com/newsitem/3830-the-challenge-cutthroat-exclusive-interview-with-katie-doyle#.XpgYPCUpCEc

its right after she was eliminated from Cutthroat, and she brilliantly wrote how the Challenge changed and imo had to just get worse from there. It's an old interview but a good read and I feel is relevant to how the show has such a darker negative vibe now. also it's just a great reminder of how freaking entertaining Katie was <3

I think Katies waning experience is similar to my waning viewing pleasure. I believw the last season I watched through was Invasion( and I may not have watched the final/reunion)

I let go of trying to enjoy the same excitement as The Inferno2/Gauntlet2 and Ruins brought me and instead try to see how the show regresses through its new generations BUT if we're honest, the last seasons I remember excitement over the cast before Invasion/30 was BOTSeasons2/Rivals2/FreeAgents and I think thats because they were sequels/innovative casts at the time but still most of the cast members (then and now) are interchangeable nuissances. But i keep updated to see whats next, but the excitement in contrast to learning Ruins & Gauntlet 2 cast is no longer...

A lot of old schoolers who have come back have complained about the environment and how they are treated. It used to be a lot more fun to watch, now it's just dark. They used to enjoy being there and we still got great drama. Now it's just contrived drama and they try too hard, very inauthentic. The editors thinking we want 2 full episodes of Dee and Rogan shows how outta touch they are.

That was before Bananas, Camila, Cara Maria, Evan, and Kenny invaded this show. Being around them must be horrible.

Im kinda shocked they havent had more big old schoolers return with the hump bump in cash prize from 50-100k for winning to 250k to a million. I know they hate the new "dark" environment in this modern era but still it suprises me they havent gotten bigger names to return.

I can't beleive Emily didn't come back after XXX, considering Cara & Ashley were the female winners if the next 2 seasons, she'd have a pretty solid chance of being rich right now. Same with Laurel, I know she was in school but what job is she going into where she's been passing up multiple chances to win hundreds of thousands of dollars. Rachel or Sarah also apply, the female field was pretty weak before the last couple seasons, some of these older girls would basically be printing money

It's because MTV doesn't want to **** with the older cast members anymore. They've basically lost their numbers. I really think the first trilogy was the last hoorah for even attempting to get those old names back. And it didn't even work that well cause they didn't want to pay some of them what they're worth (*cough* Coral, Landon)

I mean they've gotten all the big names they're going to get at this point. People like Landon, Coral, Katie and such ain't coming back and to be honest that's a good thing. How much are they really worth now honestly.?

I'd be fine with them moving on with vets of they didn't go out of their way to keep certain vets around that don't bring anything to the table. This show has an entire world of reality stars to build their show around yet every season it's Wes and Cara and Bananas and CT

Coral, Landon, Beth, Tina, and others have openly stated that they would come back if they were compensated fairly but MTV didn't think they were worth it. Personally I believe that as of Total Madness, they're too far gone and we have almost zero chance of seeing anyone outside of the regulars. But around the first trilogy, when we were already having Shane, V, Darrell, Derrick, Brad returns... they would've fit in

Landon is a professional who probably has a high salary.. He probably wants MTV to compensate that and he's definitely not worth the amount.

Yep. He pretty much said that in a podcast and MTV sure as **** not about to waste a bunch of money on him and that probably goes for the others as well. I mean they're either not going to do shit or will be out early. No need to waste the money on that. they're better off focusing on newer castembers especially with them opening up the cast pool.

And taking 6 weeks off while you're in a professional career like Landon is a high risk. Definitely not worth it for a chance of the money on a reality tv show.

Now Mother Coral is definitely worth the money but she pretty much cut them off after they tried to low-ball her & I don't blame her one bit as she's a huge part of the reason this show got the momentum it did to still be around today. That + them snubbing The Kang like they're doing & rigging wins for Johnny tell me everything I need to know tho.

I want them to move on from the trash; establish the Invasion Gen as the new Vets & actually use their recent MTV talent along with people from other networks but only the latter is going to happen & it's going to keep bringing us people like Jennifer Lee, Shaleen & Nicole Bass. I'll just make my exit after this season.
