I don't believe I'm underestimating her. I believe you're overestimating her. She's definitely not the strongest girl there or the one with the most endurance. Ashley's a great competitor but she's not elite. I also want her to win a race final not a timed one in which it can easily be rigged.
Lets say Cara/Paulie and Jordan/Tori are running things. When it comes time to turn who do you guys think Ashley, Nany, CT, Josh, Zach and Leroy side with?

Nany, Zach, Leroy with J and T?
The rest of the US can easily start sending in Cara and paulie and mabe that's what is already happening with Bear.
Why would Nany side with J and T? Does she have ties to them? Even if she and Cara have been sort of off and on, Nany and Cara might still work together. Leroy would work with Cara, too, and maybe Zach if they really have made up. Ashley could go either way.

First off, you're comparing arguably the easiest two finals since the new era began to the hardest one. And, yes, Ninja being the top girl on WOTW is the same as Ashley being the top girl on Invasion. Let's stop pretneding Amanda didn't twice hand Ashley a spot further in the game, that she wasn't benefited from a late arrival and a strong partner on FR and that she got lucky she didn't have to beat any of the champs to make the Invasion final. Ashley's a great competitor but her accomplishments are overblown. I'll take Ninja in a final over Ashley any day as a partner (even ignoring her stealing the money) or just to bet money on. Hopefully we get to see who is right.
You also ignored that Cara was tied to an anchor in Marie, that Natalie got lost, the Sylvia only lost because of a time penalty (if you actually believe Joss/Sylvia didn't win) and that Nicole still might be still be on that island trying to count. Beating Cara, Mattie and Georgia on the hardest final is far more impressive than anything Ashley has ever done. Add to it, Ninja had to put in extra work to stay in the final against Hunter. We all know Ashley quits at that point.
The final she won with Hunter seems like they rigged it for her since they knew she would take the money, Hunter ate so much more food then her so it was unclear how they timed that part, the things she was ahead of him seemed close.

FR was another story but I think the only reason they minimized the running is cause they weren't sure what gender teams would make the final. A M/M final would have a huge advantage in a very long distance final.
Ashley proved herself on that final imo. Especially against Camila.

Why? If the International team can't win safety or beat the US competitors (especially Joss, Turbo & Theo) then they suck and deserve to go one by one.

Nothing was close to WOTW. Invasion was on par with Ruins and Cutthroat. Are you forgetting it was a two day final and they had to run between all those checkpoints?

I like the idea of he and Kam working together. Turbo is one of the most unique challengers ever. Joss seems chill too actually, I forgot he got taken off.

Honestly, Ruins, Cutthroat, and Invasion are great examples of how finals should be. Ashley killed a final on that level and that's respectable.
WOTW was overkill. These are reality tv stars, not Iron Man athletes.
