A bell could still be the purge tho, it was a race to not be last. They don’t usually do eliminations with sunlight out until before the final
There were bright spotlights on top of the Killing Floor arena, so it make it look like daytime. But if I'm wrong then like you said it could been a purge or an daily challenge.
