Meanwhile the storied history of Yankee Stadium:

During Game 1 Tuesday, two Mariners' outfielders, Ken Griffey Jr. and Jay Buhner, became the targets of fans lobbing batteries and coins, Aust said. And on Wednesday, in the incident that most angered the Mariners, the 9-year-old son of one of the team's owners, Rufus W. Lumry, was struck on the hand during the seventh inning by a whisky shot glass, apparently thrown from the upper deck to the seats where the boy, Chris Lumry, sat near the Mariner dugout.

Mariners' officials and Yankee Stadium security guards said yesterday that besides the shot glass, the list of items that actually rained onto the field during both games was as varied as it was long: plastic cups, Frisbees, souvenir bats, stereo headphones, tomatoes, grapefruit, golf balls, bottles, batteries and an assortment of coins. A softball narrowly missed the head of Lou Piniella, the Mariners' manager, and in the sixth inning Wednesday, after back-to-back homers by Ruben Sierra and Don Mattingly, Piniella went so far as to pull his team off the field for about three minutes as wild fans showered the field with debris.

It's actually cool to have a few Yankee fans on here. The rivalry is the best in sports for a reason. The history is storied. The games are intense and both fan bases are insufferable to the rest of the league, lol.

The rest of the league is irrelevant honestly. Baseball is at its best when both teams are great.

LET'S GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Duck boats gassed up. Ready to roll.
