You would think after none of the stars promoted it last season that MTV would have somewhere in their contracts that they have to send x amount of tweets post on instagram x number of times or else they have to give the money back. I can't imagine being dumb enough to pay extra to those with a bigger following trying to get their fans to watch the show, to have them completely ignore the show and not post about it on social media at all!

I think the issue here is that the stars do not get approval of what airs and they do not know their edit prior to watching. A lot of these stars won't promote it to their audience if it's not suitable..Shawn Johnson is a good example of this. Since they don't have access to the control the way things air, I'm sure they just opt out of promoting the show or make sure it's not mandated in a contract.
This is just a thought but it is what I think is going on behind the scenes!

Which is totally understandable on the stars part, but then they shouldn't be willing to do the show! Bring in the people that will sign a contract that requires them to promote it, there are PLENTY of "stars" willing to do that. What it comes down to is they are paying people money trying to get their fan base to watch the show, then unless you are already an MTV fan your chances of knowing they are on it is very minimal.
Well that's just too bad. The Stars don't have to promote a thing & I don't blame them. Nobody told MTV/BMP to make these spinoffs; the Stars are doing them a favor. They came to the Stars begging them to be on it.....you want promotion; cough up the dough & my edit BETTER be good.
I think MTV/BMP is fine with them not promoting it. Most of their diehard fans that would tune in because of them will find out anyway and the ratings arent that bad.
