If you haven't watched The Battle Frontier season from Pokemon it's a must. Ash returns to Kanto and that has some of the best battles in the series, and May has a lot of cool contest battles too.
I just finished Juni Taisen: Zodiac War.I wouldn't suggest it to anyone unless you're a fan of story and gore. It's hardly a war, just a lot of storytelling and stupid deaths.

awww it is but as a fan of dbz I saw Dragonball first and to see Goku grow up was amazing and I'm so grateful I watched it through before beginning dbz. ******* hilarious the series was and focused on tournaments and how Goku and Chichi came to be and piccolo and yamcha. Its so ******* cute honestly! I mostly didn't love dbz as much because I don't care for all the fighting LMAO

Correction then, The Battle Frontier starts at the end of previous season for probably 10 or so episodes before the offical season starts. Misty returns for a couple episodes and Brock of course is still in the group like always.
Fun fact, The Battle Frontier season is the first season with the new voice actors, even though they don't sound different. ForKids lost it's rights to Pokemon and they brought in a new voice cast.
