This show was actually promoted unlike other MTV shows. My friends who don't even watch MTV often knew what this show was because it was literally everywhere.
You gotta realize the last season of jersey shore was only at 1m views so.... this technically is pretty close to jersey shore ratings
That was season 6; where everybody had grown up and basically matured....this is season 1 of FS; riding on the back of Teen Mom & being the "reincarnation" of JS in general. I actually thought it got around 900-950k lol

season 6 or not, it was still jersey shore and the ratings were still low. The real issue here is people expecting ratings that MTV got back in 2009, and otherwise comparing today’s shows ratings to the shows that pulled in massive ratings 8 years ago.

So people can't try to drag Real World ratings from the last few seasons when they aren't being opened by MTV's current highest rated show nor are they receiving the same amount of promotion that this show received. Bad Blood was not a bad season and it was clear that MTV didn't put any effort into making the season a success.

This show also competes with The Good Doctor which gets 9 million viewers per episode so.. its thriving by MTV standards
