he has always been a top competitor. Even on this season being out of shape he makes it to a final (and he won last season). Granted he is rumored to have done poorly on this final but why I still root for CT is simple. He brings the intimidation and has had one of the best character developments this show has ever had. CT on RW Paris vs Dad CT is really quite the transformation. And not everyone who's a dad on this show calms down (cough Tony cough)
No. CT being popular has EVERYTHING to do with Diem. CT was not anyone of importance before the Duel. He always performed well but was wallpaper mostly on the Inferno, they didn't even invite him back the next season with 18 male slots (and he would have totally gone if asked), came back for Inferno II and kinda more of the same, great athlete but did not add to the narrative, then he wasn't on 2 seasons in a row which believe me was not his choice either and then he was picked for the duel. I can understand why casuals really loved CT & Diem, it was like Danny & Sandy (Grease not FM2...), people are suckers for the bad boy good girl thing and it was really really marketable, particularly because she had just gone through treatment. With Diem gone (RIP) I find him completely uninteresting.

Sorry I didn't mean it like that. I meant that their relationship cast a wide net and got alot of people to invest in the show whether they be casuals or not. You can absolutely be loyal watchers like us and enjoy the relationship, but I also knew people who only watched it if Diem & CT were so it works both ways.

Facts. A relationship that spanned multiple seasons with its ups and down is a perfect marketable oppurtunity to get casual viewers invested in a story arc as well as loyal viewers.
With the combination of not having Diem and his relationship and him not being as altercative as he once was, has story arc is not as exciting. I still think he has an appeal as this beast that everyone respects and fears, and thats how they clearly market him now, i.e his entrance on both Invasions and Dirty 30 with the music and all. He still had the best character development than any cast member in The Challenge history.
