I was at a house party recently and we were talking about embarassing/guilty pleasure shows and mine was the challenge. After most people got over their surpise that it was indeed still on the air, I told them Veronica was coming back and the whole group knew exactly who I was talking about. Late Gen-Xers and early Millenials have a good chance of knowing her, Mike, Coral, Tonya, CT & Beth. Also, if you notice on the wikipedia page for Dirty Thirty Veronica is the only cast member with her own page. Not even Bananas and Camila have that. That says something. I also remember hearing that some of the pros on CVP had no idea who Bananas & Camila were but knew CT, Darrell & Veronica right away.

Also if you think a lot of followers raises ratings you clearly haven't seen amazing race. They had a whole season of Internet personalities with staggering amount of followers and did terrible.

This isn't fair. The move to Friday Night was the reason for the awful ratings. Plus Amazing Race (and CBS) also skew older. The creative decisions with the dating season and internet celebrities season really made no sense for the show and network.
V was a queen of her time for sure. Not taking anything away from her. Just saying the demographic of viewers changes as the cast does. The hAve new viewers who watched ayto n all the other spinoffs. People with more followers will tend to watch more so then people with not a lot. The younger viewers have no idea who any of the OGs are or what they have done in the past. Not everyone is as diehard like us who remember every little thing from every show for 30 seasons.

Jenna wasnt even an alternate to my understanding she was told early on that she wasnt going to be used becuase she didnt fit the theme.
