The Ruins was terrible honestly. Sad thing about it is that Season could've been so good but the unbalanced teams, JEK, and that horrible ****** up vibe to the whole thing, and several other things that really kept it from being any good.

The eliminations were great. Oh RIng, Spool, Hog Tie, Spool, Rag Doll, Shadow Fighter & even Shoots & Ladders. Wes vs. everyone was a good storyline. Lots of good returns. They did a good job introducing new people without having too many. Alter 4 casting decisions and remove Tonya because she wasn't mentally stable enough to be there and the challenge may have been the best ever. I'd still take The Ruins over any challenge since. Hopefully XXX changes that

If you didn't hate that season I'd tell you to rewatch. The eliminations were great. Probably the best ever because they didn't reuse them and everyone until the final was at least good. Plus, they weren't all strength or puzzle. It was a little of everything like Seasons but individual and nothing stupid like Balls Out
I'm in the midst of rewatching The Ruins now & aside from the sickeningly entitled behavior from JEK & that *****Johanna, it's enjoyable. I just wish there were a few casting changes & that the champ vets weren't so blind & sided with Wes, who btw was ridiculously hot that season.

Evan, Derrick, Kenny, Susie, Ibis & Johanna had the numbers because of John & Darrell. Remember Darrell hated Wes at that point in time.

Wes told on brain dead podcast that he was good with Johnny and others until Johanna went for Kenny and after that is history.

If Wes didn't lie to Evan and everyone else about being on that season things could have been different...he at least wouldn't have been the first target. ****, even he didn't make ridiculous demands at the beginning it could have been slightly different. Wes dug his own grave and took Evelyn with him
The Ruins was too dark for me, almost made me check out even beyond the Tnya craziness but I won't deny it had good moments.
Why was it "dark"? I mean, aside from the fact Tonya wasn't mentally stable enough to be there and the allegations which aren't shown I don't remember darkness. Well, the Brad-Darrell fight but they were friends after that.

The first episode was hilarious seeing Evan and Kenny losing there minds because they thought Wes wasn't going to be there lol I don't get why they were so mad for that.
are season 31 and champs vs pros supposed to film at the same time or separately?
I would say separately. It seems like they're trying hard at a good cast for the mini-challenge (Champs vs Pros). I'm not referring to it as Champ vs Pros 2 because I've been told that it's a "AllStar Challenge" where only finalist and champs have been contacted. Two legendary champs have been contacted and are considering.
I think the most interesting return would be Beth imo I can see her falling terribly or being kept around for a while
I can see her being her true Beth self - solid overall in misisons that involve strength, causing a TON of drama then leaving half way through like on Gauntlet 2 / Inferno 2 ****.

The only bad one was the last one lol that was shit
The Ruins premiere was still one of my favorites though.

Beth's return will be truly glorious.
