It was more like hey would you rather be interested in a game show where you win money ?. Instead of sitting around in a house for months with people without money. Evelyn Smith was a last minute drop out. She decided that it was better for her future not do a real world season. She dropped out a week before filming started for Real World Denver. She also dropped out a week before filming the duel 1.
Wasn't Fresh Meat technically an "audition" for The Challenge then if we're following that logic? Sure, she bypassed Real World, but you still have to do something to get a callback in the future, just like with RW. CM is lucky they followed the standard with FM1 and brought back the first FM eliminated.
Fresh meat is an actual challenge season and in that regard EVERY challenge where there is rookies is like that , meaning every rookie needs to be intersting enough to get a call back not just fresh meat, while real world is another show with a new cast every season so their only hope to get on tv again is the challenge , they're basically auditionning for it . when you're on fresh meat you're actually on the challenge and they get money at the end if they come in 1st or 2nd or 3rd and you're forever a challenge winner if you win even if you never do a challenge ever again.
