People overlooking Derrick because he's been gone for a while. I'm gald Derrick is with Darrell instead of Shane this time, Derrick is an upgrade competitively and hopefully him and Darrell make the final and win (or atleast make the final).
TBH, most of those puzzles and mental challenges end up being about luck. ie: Bananas, who sucks at puzzles, beating CT, who until then had done pretty well with them.
I feel like Derrick doesn't need puzzles that much, my question is about how he'd do in a longer finale.

Well it has been like 7-8 years since we've seen him. Most of these people commenting nowadays were in diapers back then.
