But, as much as I lover her, you can not include Marie in the "shined on Seasons 2 and went on to do multiple seasons where they shined against vets as well" group.
DA, I understand why you liked Seasons. I do but there's a reasons we'll never see another season with that type of cast. Honestly, you should be loving this set-up even knowing the champions are coming because it's allowing exactly what you want. Them to get screen time to make their presence known.
Even in this era veterans shouldn't prevent rookies from shining. Jonna, Jasmine & Leroy were all very relevent on Rivals. Dustin & Heather could have been relevant on Exes if Dustin wasn't an idiot and injured himself. The list goes on and on.
The reality is that those you claim "shined" on Seasons haven't won a challenge since. On Cara, Sarah & Wes have won that appeared on that season. Hate to tell you but they were all established long before.
The fact you seem to be indicating that you don't want any veterans is ridiculous. People like Jenna have already done as many as legends like Landon. We need a mix...that will drastically help with ratings. And, yes, the tease of CT and others is the main reason the rating were solid.
While I agree with DA on the fresh vibe i think that Kvm is right. You can't have a season with only rookies it doesnt work that way and it never worked before, even during the older era you had some "vets" or people that were on the challenge for a second time in the mix. You can't expect seasons with the majority of new people to have good ratings because people connect with their favs and if they see a bunch of new faces (which the casuals think that they are cocky and annoying) it will turn them off. As it was said before and i share the same opinion we need a mix of new blood and old blood. Only then the newbies will be accepted. Since you seem to watch wrestling DA let me put you that way imagine a WWE roster without John Cena, Orton, AJ Styles, Chris Jericho and all the big dogs it simply doesn't work. You need someone with high impact to "Pass the torch" onto the younger fellas. I'm digging this Invasion thing but the champs are needed. I just don't agree with the set of champs nor do i agree that they join later. They should've come on the second part of the 2 hour premiere to keep people invested or they should've come in the end. They are already champs but the format is already giving them levarage for skipping the first challenges/eliminations which IMO isn't fair.
Okay The wrestling analogy doesn't work because WWE can go on without John Cena and Chris Jericho and that's been proven as those 2 have left in the past and WWE kept right on so it absolutley does work. And as far as AJ Styles...He's been in WWE for only a year. He just got started so he doesn't count. And if Orton left WWE will keep on trucking along as well.
Furthermore there is a difference between someone who's only been on one other challenges and someone who's done 15 ******* shows. How is the torch supposed to be passed when the people holding the **** torch won't leave? And even when the people whom the torch is supposed to be passed to sproved that they're good enough they still don't get the ball?
And honesty when has the torch been passed? Nobody passed shit. When FM/Austin/Key West came in people from the golden era started leaving on their own terms so no torch was passed. Same with the Seasons 2 crowd. Despite alot of them moving on or getting banned there's still Backpack and Wes. They need to be phased out because they had their time and they can't do these shows forever.
We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this. I don't think champs/old-schoolers/vets are needed y'all do. Noone's changing their mind so it's whatever.
Maybe it's because I'm not so attached to the old-schoolers and don't dismiss something because it's new and am tired of vets but whatever.

My wrestling point was about ratings and starpower you clearly never understood that. The Rock and Austin for example leaving WWF/WWE left them with a huge hole that they never managed to fill. My point was that veterans are necessary to keep the ratings and older fans. You are right about the torch but it would easily be solved if the producers pushed more new faces to become "regulars" to the point that they dont need John, CT or Wes. The fact is none of this new people have arised to expectations and the only ones who had that in them only did 2 or 3 and left (Frank and Jordan were the only ones with that starpower) but other then them the new people are weak and sheep.
It was forcily passed, the new generation at the time (FM/Austin/Key west) took it from the golden era and even then they teamed up with older schoolers such as Abram, Derrick, Darrell, etc to become the new "top dogs" and their equals. These new people are lackluster competition wise and thats why Johnny keeps coming back. Because he knows the cast is weaker than when he started and nobody will defy him except other vets. Just look at Invasion where they think freaking Jenna is the beast on the women's side.
What's gonna happen when all those vets retire? What hook are they gonna have in order to keep those ratings and older fans? I hope you don't think the vets are gonna be around forever.. I mean CT has a kid now so we won't be seeing him much if at all, Wes did say that he had one more in him..but he did say that he wants to keep doing them so who knows with him. And Backpack can't do these forever and on top of that he's running out of themes he can fit...
And as far as WWE..Yes Rock and Austin leaving hurt them but guess what? They made a new star with John Cena and he had the ball for years. They're only now starting to phase him out when they should've did that years ago. But word on the street is they don't want new stars so...
And you're right that they're sheep but weak? Nope. Cory/Tony/Hunter(as much as I don't like him)/Nelson/Amanda(Despite her being trash)/Ashley M all have proven to be good-decent competitiors.
WWE was never the same after both of them left, not even with Cena. Anyways cmon man you just mention two guys (Cory and Tony) who become instant sheep when the big dogs arrive. Tony is a Backpack lackey and Cory is okay but he still can't hang with those guys. Nelson I haven't too much of him but he doesn't seem to dominate daily challenges. From those you've mentioned Ashley M is the only one who has that potential. Hunter is a brainless type of jock which is JEK favorite type of people to manipulate.
Just face it Jordan, Frank and maybe Zach witout his gassed out moments are the only ones who came to the level of being top dogs by playing the game. Cory has flopped before while trying to play politics. Tony is just starting and the rest is meh. But lets just agree to disagree. I'll give you one thing when both of them are gone they will start to push people but I don't know if the challenge will last long enough after they are gone. Johnny has probably more 4 or 5 of these in his legs . Wes and CT will be gone first but with Johnny I don't know.

Not saying he's a mastemind but he's not a complete ******* in terms of poilitics.
And I think Tony can be a good competitor. He did well with Camilla on Rivals 3 when they weren't screaming at each other. I just think he needs to focus on the game and do what's best for him and I think he'll be good.
But yeah..you're right in that WWE wasn't the same but it didn't lose anything though..it got better honestly.
Look. I know I kinda wrote him off in The Burn Book but I kinda had a wierd Change of Heart? Like I dunno what it is but I kinda sorta like him now? He was a good competitor for the most part on Invasion and He does have angers issues but I do think it's funny when he lashes out. I feel like he'll be back on the show at some point though.
Going into Bad Blood I thought Robbie would be Jay 2.0 but surprsingly he wasn't. He was cool, positive force in the season that was Bad Blood.
Robbie got off to a rocky start having drama with Mike which was cringeworthy as ****. But slowly but surely he became more positive and willing to be a friend and help his roomates any way he can. He handled the Jenn situation perfectly. He pretty much just gave Jenn the closure that she needed and that was that(Although I will say he should've steped in a bit more when Peter was acting a fool). I remember him confronting the stank sisters on why they didn't hang with the rest of the housemates( I would've said ****'em if I was him tbh). Also his mother going off on him on the phone for trying to cook was halarious. I also liked how he was the last one to leave the house. I also forgot to mention this but when the whole Theo was having a hard time with Kassisus in the house Robbie was right there, giving him advice and being a freind.
I short I like Robbie and he was one of the more tolerable people of Bad Blood. I do hope we see him on a Challenge at some point.
I never disliked Shane but he was never really one of my favorites back in the day. The reason he's on this thread is the AMAZING comeback he's had. He's everything that The Challenge is missing..He's dynamic, smart, actually played the game in so many ways, and was kinda funny at times as well. His reunion with Darrell was a great sight to behold as I like seeing people who were castmembers on the same show interact. He made allies with Ashley, Amdanda, and several others. He also competed well which to me wasn't suprising and he was never a bad competitor back in the day. Shit, he almost made it to the end on his first challenge and he almost made it to the end on Ivasion as well. Kinda sad to see him leave but not really as my boy Cory made it to the end and I value him more than Shane at the end of the day. But that doesn't erase that he had a **** good comeback and honestly. The Challenge needs more people like him.
I've said for the longest time that I've wanted Darrell to return so he can redeem himself after his last two seasons. Well when he made is comeback on Invasion and he did just that and more. He reunited with his Campus Crawl Castmate Shane, He beat Zach's *** in elimination and the grandaddy of them all..He sent Backpack's *** home proving who the real champ is. He didn't just preform well...He was chill but had some moments here and there(Him being straightforward with TJ was amazing) Which really is how he always been. He stayed focus on the game and preformed when he needed to. Also he has an adorable family. Sadly he was beaten by CT but you know what? In my eyes he came out of the show a winner.
Overall Darrell really just made me fall in love with him all over again. He may not be wildly entertaining but he doesn't need to be..He has a presence about him that's commanding and at the end of the day he knows he can preform and kick ***. One of the best come backs I've ever seen. Welcome Back Darrell!

The thread is called The Challenge: Favorite Things not HTs Favorite Scrubs :/
Sorry HT love ya :p
Also good entry DA. Darrell this season kinda showed again, like Abe on bloodlines, that age sometimes does not matter and if you are a tough competitor, you can still bring it. He took out the trash this season and nearly made it to the end. I truly believe if he made it to the finals he would have won. His reunion with Shane and they showed the Campus Crawl clip is my favorite moment of this season actually. It was a small gesture, but it was a throwback and it shows that there is someone in production who cares about the past.
Shane and Darrells comeback really elevated Invasion of the Champions. Imagine if Darrell was replaced by Caras cousin and Shane was replaced by off brand version. It would have been another boring season.
She's another one whom I didn't care much for on their RW season but I do think she's shined on the challenges. She's fun, entertaining, and a great competitor. She's another one in the long line of wild girls who don't give a **** kinda in the vien of Latter-Day Tonya but less ****** up and Crazy. I think she'll be a regular for many seasons to come and if she does it'll be one thing BMP gets right in terms of casting.

You know what? This is really refreshing. The fact that I can put a very recent season in this thread. After two ****** *** seasons in Bloodlines and Rivals 3 I was beginning to lose hope that there would ever be another good season of this show. Welp...Invasion really restored faith in me that this show can be good and hopefully it's only upward from here.
IMO This season has been the best since Battle of the Exes 2. Why? Let me list the reasons.
Legit focus on the newbies-The first phase of this season really focused soley on the newbies and focused on them playing the game and doing their own thing without the tired *** vets getting in the way. Given that this setup hasn't been done since Seasons 2 this was really refreshing and a great change of pace especially ***omeone who likes watching how the new people ajust to the challenges. It also didn't stop when the champions came too. They continued to get good focus as well. The Champions were irrelevant for the most part on this season and I liked that. It seems like BMP/MTV are finally realizing that they can't count on those big-name vets forever. The Torch has got to be p***ed at some point and they're working towards that it seems.
The Format-Now I gotta admit. The Format was messy and could've been done better but it was different and after several seasons of Rivals/Exes I appreciated it. One aspect I liked is that Champs went against champs and Underdogs went against Underdogs. Because honestly had it been champs vs underdogs it would've been Ruins 2 so Kudos to MTV for sidestepping that mistake.
The Missions/Eliminations-You know it seemed like they're toning down the shit that they do and I like that. Felt it was too extreme and it gives lesser competitors a chance too.
Camilla getting dragged-Been a long time coming before someone scalps that ho. Amanda steped up and did it well. I don't like the girl but I'll give her props for giving Camilla what she deserves.
Ashley M winning-We finally get a new winner that's recent and It couldn't have happened to a better girl. I never thought that the girl that got kicked off her RW season for being a drunken ******* would come on the challenges and win her second go round. What made it so special is that she called her mom and told her she won. That was a sweet moment and something that I don't think has ever been done before. Ashley M is a great winner and not only that. A great Character. Now had only Nelson or Cory won for the guys it'd be perfect for me.
Campus Crawl Mini-Reunion- Seeing Darrell and Shane back together on The Challenges when both had been away for so long is perfection. Especially when they showed clips of Campus Crawl..Man I miss Road Rules.
Backpack/Zach/Laurel/CM all Biting the dust.
Camilla losing.
And so much more that was great about this challenge.
But this was a great challenge and like I said before..It really rejuvinated my like for this show and I can't wait to see what's next given that the next season is the 30th...30 seasons of this show. Man, when you think about it this show really has stood the test of time. Let's hope for 30 more seasons!
I'm not reading all these walls of text.

*****. EPIC.
.
I didn't know Raticate had a mega form.
Battle of the seasons, episode 8 ( the eating challenge ).
I think it was the last time that TJ was entertaining ( beside what he said to Jay/Jenna on the Exes 2 final )

ASHLEY M.

INVASION
But yeah..Invasion rocked.
this is a non-spoiler thread no ? Correct me if I'm wrong
