As someone that thinks it is very important to have veterans and champions on the show I do think this is a great set-up to allow the newbies a chance to show what they're capable of and get air time before we see what they can do with veterans around.
I love the fact that of the 9 guys/girls that 3 will win competitions, 3 will win eliminations and 3 will be eliminated before the second phase starts. That's a great way to make people earn their spot.
****, next season I'd love to see this but have it done with two groups (say Old School and New School) then once we get 12 people (6 guys/girls) for each side we get a big team competition.
I'm hoping the next 2 episodes actually cause me to care about some of the newbies. Other than the fact I found out Nicole and Kailah can compete I was pretty much annoyed by everyone. When Jenna comes across as one of the more sane people there's a problem. Hunter, Anika and Shane talked the least so I probably like them the best so far.
I do agree complaints about the champions not being there yet are stupid but as much as I like the format and the editing pretty much everyone we saw so far was annoying IMO. Though that may just be because I haven't seen most of them before. For example, some are commenting that they liked Bruno & Tony while i thought both were two of the most annoying cast members of all-time. I'd almost rather have Katelynn back than seeing either one of them again. Almost
I still can't get over the fact Bruno was first eliminated...He deserved it more than Tony IMO; not because he's homeless, but because he was way more endearing and genuinely lovely. Plus, I love his relationship with Nicole. Yes, he freaked out and gave up but I don't know, it's still sad he left first.

Tony is ridiculously annoying bur Bruno wasn't much better. I still think people that watched his season are grading on a curve here.
I'm not digging the fact that Tony thinks he's entitled just because he has two kids now. It's no one's fault that your *** can't use contraception properly. I definitely liked him more on Rivals 3 and Bloodlines.

*I had never seen Bruno before. He seemed like a very genuine, down to earth and likeable person. He brought a chill positive energy that will be missed.Good luck buddy.

My thoughts on the underdogs Amanda: like her more than on Rivals 3 and her smile when voting for Tony was great.Anika: didn't see much of her but she's harmless.Ashley M: Queen. Not staged by production, the cast knew the champs were coming especially Cory since he made preseason alliances with them. Maybe that's why it looks force.

1. Kailah is attractive even though I hate the tattoos. She looks much better on the show than any picture I've seen of her.
2. Of course casuals want to see the champs--they want to see people they know and are interested in. Just like many of you loved the first episode because you know these people from the RW or AYTO
3. They know the champs are coming but they have to play it up

And if everyone was available my dream elite 8 would be : Wes(if he actually cared) or CT, Landon, Darrell, Derrick and Laurel,Emily,Cooke and Evelyn.
Production value and soundtrack these two episodes were at a higher level than i can remember it being for many seasons.
Wes elite LOL, Cara for elite team, bigger LOL and Cook aint champ.
Elite 8 champs are CT, Landon, Darrell, Bananas, Ev, Laurel, Rachel R. and Emily.

A few thoughts:

I recognised Skeletons, Theo, Jenna, Dario and Shane. The rest was strangers, still 2 great episodes imo.
