Teams and individual challenges simply give more people an opportunity to shine. Going way back to the first Gauntlet. Roni beating The Miz in a team comp, Sarah winning 5 gauntlets, Elka winning the snake soup mission, etc. This season, if the format doesn't go to pairs, is going to allow people an opportunity to make their mark. Kailah beating Marie did more for me being invested in her as a competitor than anything that happened on Seasons, Rivals or Exes.
Exactly & the fact that they're unrestricted as far as who to cast......I don't know who the **** convinced them pairs was to be the go-to format when they NEVER get the people they really want.
And espeically when it leads to garbage *** seasons like Rivals 3.

Over 1,000 new posts - wow. A few things...Well, it lived up to the hype and so much more in my opinion. One of the best premiere episodes in a long *** time. So sad to see Marie and Bruno go but happy we got to see them. I thought they both held their own just fine in the elimination. I hope both come back soonI can't stand Nelson. How did Tony, Cory, Jenna as well as people like Ashley, Dario and Marie let him take control of the groups? Mind boggling. So many strong voices and they chose him. Loved Theo and Anika on Seattle...was disappointed this episode, especially Theo, seemed to be trying too hard. Maybe next episode will be better. Love the Skeletons representation but hate how that ended with the 4 of them. I love Sylvia and understand her decision but wish they worked better together during the challenge and drew a straight line so they were all on the same page. Would have loved to see Tony Cory Bruno Jenna Nicole Kailah Sylvia work together. Even Ashley as well. Looks like we are going to have a good season. Hope it translates well with casual viewers.

I had no idea Shane went through a divorce and it hurt my heart when he talked about it. It gave me chills, it made me so sad for him. I'm really happy he got to return and do this again. Lets hope Derrick gets his chance too.
