Thanks for sharing that, Honest Tea. I'll admit I wasn't a big Diem fan on the challenges sometimes, but she was always an inspiration. And I honestly think part of the Challenges died with her because you can tell she really impacted people's lives on the challenges. RIP Diem.
He was a late addition to The Go Big or Go Home season but he was cool beans..although he did take an L by ******* with that racist ***** Jenna(and then just tried to hide it by saying he was being a puppet master or whatever). But he was a little fun and he was a hottie. He also smartened up and stoped ******* with the racist ***** so Kudos to that. I really wish he came in at the beginning like everyone else did because we would've gotten to see so much more of him.
But in conclusion Dylan was cool and I really hope he's on the next challenge.
"Old Man" Syrus. Man, Syrus was just so cool and hilarious. I remember in the Inferno when Real World voted him in and it turned out he posted the best time on their team. And when he was upset about it and told them "I will take the flag to victory. Da da da da dun, da da da dun, *beep I'm out."
Then he ended up winning the Lifesaver at the Bird Feeder challenge. Also another memorable and hilarious Sy moment when he put on the chicken suit.
He also told off TJ in his Gauntlet against Derrick (even though Syrus was in the wrong) but I don't like TJ so that earns him more points for me. Lol.
The last time we saw him was on the Ruins and unfortunately he was a background character and was overshadowed by the ********** JEK and Wes that season. But, Syrus was always awesome.
This is still my favorite season ever. Everything about it was so good. The cast was amazing. The drama was genuine and all about the game. There were so many memorable moments that you need more than two hands to count. Katie vs Veronica, Julie nearly killing Veronica, Julie vs Coral, Trishelle vs Coral, Kendal being sweet and beautiful, Timmy/Syrus/Katie/Coral with funny one liners, Coral licking Abe's sandwich before giving it to him. Katie being that season's Sarah Greyson, Julie and Katie's Inferno, Leah and Kendal's Inferno, CT wearing a bikini, and Leah having a panic attack. There was just something going on in every episode. Plus the intro kicked ***. It was also the last true RW vs RR challenge we ever saw.
Derrick's interesting to me because throughout all of his Challenge appearances, his character was always changing. He was drunk Derrick on Battle of the Sexes 2, then pitbull Derrick on the Gauntlet 2, then sweet and caring Derrick on Fresh Meat and lastly, JEK follower Derrick (his last 3 challenges). But consistenly, he was one of the top competitors in every show.
His Gauntlet 2 performance still is amazing. He took out Adam, Brad, Ace, and Syrus, 3 out of 4 being really good competitors and Ace was still a bigger guy than him. It was so heartbreaking when Timmy had to eliminate him because Derrick really deserved to win that challenge.
He also really was supportive of Diem on Fresh Meat when she told him she had cancer. And let's not forget his epic Duel with Wes. That Duel was so intense to watch and I really thought one of them was going to get hurt badly. So when he finally won on the Inferno 3, it was great to watch because he finally broke that barrier.
Sadly, post Inferno 3 Derrick became boring and quite frankly, too much of a JEK sheep and follower. I feel like he didn't intervene enough especially when it came to people who were supposedly his friends like Tonya. Still, D was mostly harmless and he still was a great competitor. He hasn't been on since Cutthroat but even on that challenge we got to see glimpses of the old pitbull Derrick when he was the remaining guy on the Blue Team.
Didn't he also carry Tina on his shoulders for a brief time in the Inferno 2 finale? Man, Derrick was strong.
I'll never understand what makes Adam Larson a good competitor.Maybe he was good on his debut season/Viewer's Revenge.. I dunno.
Lol I'll admit I don't remember much about him, tbh. I did remember he was pretty chicken shit on Viewers Revenge and the way he scapegoated David that season when he was the weakest one on the Road Rules team. I was so happy when Abe attacked him.
I like this guy. He was partnered with his terrible cousing Cara Maria on Bloodlines but he was the better half of that team. He was for the most part cool and harmless. Had a little spat with Kellyanne which got him partnered with her on the next season which was Rivals 3. He was also cool there too. He got some *** via Ashley and was still harmless. I gotta say though I did feel a bit bad for him when he got shown that Ashley was talking shit about him on the aftershow. You could tell he was a bit hurt. But I don't think he should've given a damn..I mean he still hit it not once, not twice, but THREE times so If I was him I'd be like "whatever..".
But overall he's a cool guy and seems nice to talk to. Not terribly entertaining but a decent enough presence on the show. I hope he returns.
Ok first of all this one is very emotional for me because Diem inspires me so much and I was devastated of the news of her passing. As I'm writing this is bringing back all the great memories of her that I've watched and I'm sad I never got a chance to meet her.Diem embodies everything this show is about and that is The Challenge. Diem wasn't about having drunken or petty fights she was here to compete and I loved that. She wasn't elite but she always held her own with tough competitors going against her. This girl is a fighter, both on and off the show. When she revealed to Derrick that she had cancer it was a complete shock. Then when she came back on the Duel she didn't let the fact that she was in remission effect her game. I just rewatched the ring toss mission and teared up because it was so inspirational to see her beat out everyone else and take off her wig for the first time.Forget all the drama but her and CT were very cute together and I'm glad they were together when she passed. Diem brought out the very best in CT and without her I don't think CT would be the same person he is now. It's a shame that she didnt win battle of the exes because she deserved it so much. She also would have won on Gauntlet 3 if it wasn't for Easy which sucks because she deserved at least one win.All in all, Diem was and still is one of the greatest females this show has to offer. There's no denying that she has made an impact on this planet and will continue to do so with all the people she's inspired. A few months ago I stopped drinking and whenever I want a drink or crave I fight through it because I knew if Diem could fight Cancer 3 times then I fight off the temptation of drinking.
I love Diem so much too and appreciate this post. However I do feel like Diem felt really entitled sometimes. For instance on The Duel 1 when Evan called CT into the elimination round with him and Diem was ike "I'm pissed, Evan knows how much CT means to me right now" like okay Diem we get that but this is a game, at the end of the day Evan isn't here for your relationship he's here to make money and he's trying to make sure he wins. There were other times of entitlement too, that was just one example.
ERIC QUITTING ON CAMILLA ON BATTLE OF THE SEASONS 2.
Man this was glorious. Watching Camilla cry and be pissed of was halarious and everything to me because it ensure that this season would be dictated by REAL WORLDERS for once. That hasn't happened in a long time. Plus Camilla had no buisness on that season anyways given that she's not even Fresh Meat so good job Eric!
Bananas sucks. I hate how the Challenges are now catered to him. I hate how much of a hypocrite he is and how it's okay for him to screw people over but it's like a damn sin if the tables are turned on him. Plus his behavior on the Island and the Ruins was so awful. So this moment is still pretty sweet to watch. It's probably the greatest moment of the challenges of the JEK era. Everyone had great reactions, but Abe's was the best. Here's the clip below if you want to relive it.
It was also great because CT made his comeback after I thought he was banned from the challenges and what better way to come back than facing your worst enemy, Bananas. Their rivalry has gotten old over the years, but this truly felt like a moment where they hated each other.
Camila had zero business on Battle of the Seasons. But she really dragged tf out of Eric tbh, so its not that big of a deal.
Besides that, Eric had no right to do that. He really showed why he shouldn't ever be cast again. Want to talk about useless? Eric from Fresh Meat is the epitomy of useless.
I can't blame him it completely on him though. Production was at fault too. I still think the Fresh Meat team should have been Carley(or Sydney)/Cara Maria/Brandon/Noor.

That Fresh Meat team could have been SO much better. Pete, Noor, hell even Luke. Evan and Kenny were already banned by that time as well. Laurel or even Theresa should have replaced Camila.

I'm surprised Theresa didn't do Seasons. I thought she would fit in quite well, if she weren't dealing with Eric the entire time.
There is very little that I would have changed about Seasons, but just where casting is concerned.
Agreed. I was so mad we didn't get Team Sydney though. I would have loved to see KellyAnne, Isaac, and Ashli back. Dunbar meh. I would have rather seen Cohutta.
And I remember hearing at the time that Road Rules was cast. That also was disappointing it didn't happen. Derrick/Darrell/Rachel/Katie would have been awesome.
Honestly they should've just went ahead with 7 teams IMO.
But I was glad that the Fresh Meat team didn't have any good players and one big anchor. I still hated Fresh Meat at the time and I did NOT want them to go far lol.
This was one of the best final challenges ever done IMO. It was so unique and different to whats been done before. It takes place in an actual city as opposed to a moutain and their are different checkpoints. My favorite part was when they had to drink the beer and flip it into a barrell. Watching CM cry tears of pain and Cory mocking her for it was all kinds of perfection. Then later on their all in buisness suits and have to stand in an train station overnight, then they have to paddle to a puzzle the run laps around a olympic stadium. Very cool and I think this was a final that was hard without being over the top grueling like say...The Rivlas 1 final.
Only bad thing about it was Cara Maria winning....Cory/Mitch deserved it so much more IMO.
Kim was a breath of fresh air. She provided comedic confessionals, real drama, and steamy hookups. On her season of the real world she was at odds with Brianna which lead to one of the biggest fights in real world history. Seeing Brianna go off on Kim and hearing Kim say "KNOCK ME THE **** OUT, DO IT!" was so awesome because Brianna was such a bad ***** who definitely would have knocked her out but Kim wasn't having it and didn't back down. God, Hollywood was such an awesome season.
Then later Kim came on the challenges and was a surprisingly good competitor. To be honest I thought she would be kind of like a Casey but better. In reality, Kim was an above average competitor who took out Ibis, Robin, and Ruthie. She only lost to Jenn and Susie. Not bad if you ask me. (Side note, why did Robin pick Kim for the duel and not Brooke? Stupid!)
On The Duel she had her fling with Dunbar and mini fued with Paula which was alright but her performance that season was way better.
On The Ruins she was consistently the best female on her team along with Sarah and Kellyanne. She wasn't present for the Ibis/Veronica deliberation but they both wanted to face her which lead to one of my favorite moments in the shows history when Veronica got her way and Ibis was blindsided. Anyways, she took out Ibis in a really cool elimination and then later she was apart of one of the greatest female eliminations of all time vs Susie. Watching those two go at it for a half hour in the middle of a thunderstorm with screaming, blood, and crying was insane. Although I would have loved for Kim to win she unfortunately lost.
It's sad that Kim never came back after The Ruins because she was so awesome. I wish she was on Rivals with Brianna or one Seasons with team Hollywood. Oh what could have been...
I would've loved to see Kim on a Hollywood team on Seasons 2. I think had she not had such a bad experience on The Ruins I think she would've came back at some point.
It sucks the Hollywood cast stopped doing challenges so soon. In addition to Kim, Brittini was also a surprise competitor. I wish Brianna did another challenge because the Ruins didn't showcase her enough. I would have loved to see more of them compete except Nick Brown. He was an awful competitor.
They had a lot of Rivals/Exes teams they could have put together on the show. Rivals - Will/Greg, Brianna/Kim, Sarah/Brianna, Greg/Sarah or Kim. Then Exes, Brianna/Joey, Kim/Dave.
I was never a fan of Evelyn's and I really disliked her after her Gauntlet 3 showing. But, damn was I really rooting for her on the Island. I hated Backpack's treatment of her. I hated everyone in the Alliance that season. The Island really sucked but Evelyn's "**** you and **** your alliance" speech was the only good moment of the entire season, along with Backpack screwing over Paula. It was so satisfying. I replayed it over and over after it aired. It was great seeing Backpack all quiet and pissed, when he dropped his key and Evelyn happily picks it up "Thank you!"
Someone like Evelyn is what the challenges really lack now. No one stood up to Backpack the way she did here. Only Wes. Even though, she would give in to Backpack at the end, she still won and made him screw over Paula in the process.
Nick brown the guy that still has "the duel and the ruins" in Twitter bio as if people remember him. Tragic.
Didn't he refer to himself as Nick Brown: The Movement? He seriously was so corny.
That shit was funny though. I remember on The Duel 2's shit they should've shown they found his card that said that and they all gave themselves nicknames. Was ******* halarious.
