The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines Discussion (SPOILERS)

They want to copy everything Survivor is doing but won't do the main thing that has helped Survivor's success tremendously: listening to the people who've kept these shows afloat for all this time.

There's also the negative of listening too much to what people want. Then we'd be right back where we started with a shitty cast/format.

There has to be compromise though. A balance of both production pull, and fan influence.

With them lurking on sites like this (but never using the ideas for whatever reason), they really shouldn't have a problem with that.

Will we be getting the list of who eliminated each person similar free agents?

It would have been better if they did what Skeletons did. Find someone outside the challenge that the alumni hate and bring them on as their partner

If they had to reaaaally stretch this on Skeletons with only 8 people (like bringing Nicole's sisters with whom she has good relationships, Tony's brother, Madison's sister, etc) I can only imagine how stretched the theme would be if they used it for the Challenge

Tony's brother came to visit, he wasn't his skeleton. Alyssa and Elizabeth were. But I agree about them stretching Madison and Nicole's.

Right, my bad Smile

Got some kind of confirmation of Jill being out, anyways supposedly Cohutta got hurt at some point of thi challenge either before (Similar to Cara Maria on free agents) or during his elimination (Knight on Exes 2).  Trying to ee if I can get more about that.

Does this mean there's a chance we could get Abram? Please oh please? Smile

And I hope Cohutta is ok!!

To my understanding Cohutta went home through an elimination, even though supposedly he was hurt. I am assumming similar to Cara Maria on free agents that she was injured, but went to elimination. Trying to get more confirmation about this. He didnt got a DQ. As far as I know Abram is still in the states.

If that is the case, then the Alumni may not have lost the 1st or 2nd daily challenge after all.  I was assuming that, if the voting is Ruins style, then the Bloodlines must have won for Cohutta to be the one in elimination, but if he was hurt I can see the Alumni voting him in due to liability (or, even more likely, he fell on his sword and asked to be voted in for "the good of the team").

who the **** send Jill home. jfc

I really want to know what their criteria was for casting this season like for real.

Road Rules is still a fan favorite , So I'm highly confused as to how Abram got passed up especially when he wouldn't even be a random with his GF and their bloodlines in the house.

These Bloodlines don't even seem like close relatives of The Alumni and the ones that are seem either basic or have no drama between their Alumni , it's a huge gamble (that I'm not understanding why they took it)

Also This casual viewer bs is so moot , especially when they couldn't even keep up with Seasons like if you look at the first episode they literally tell you where these people came from so to say a viewer won't know X over Y is silly , everyone is irrelevant once they don't appear on the given new challenge airing or filming which is why I will never understand the induction of AYTO when there are multiple people still trying to get on their 1st-3rd Challenge but you have Bananas whom was apart of the Evil 3 they should really distance themselves from appearing on his 12th Challenge and AYTO minus Adam K (He tried , he really did) not bringing a **** thing to the table but still getting calls.

Now with all of this truth you've spoken, you'll have some come on here & STILL say "well the show has to move forward", "well Johnny is an integral part of the show", "well the casual viewers don't know who the older cast mates are" and various other forms of bullshit.

The truth is there is no good answer for any of it. The only one that really makes sense is that they want this show in the ground & a lot of these casual/hardcore/Vevmo posters (as much as they want you to believe otherwise i.e. chastising you for being critical, saying you just have to accept it or why do you watch if you "hate" it so much, etc.) want to help them achieve just that.

Agreed. It sucks that people don't demand more from the people behind this show..but honestly it would probably go on deaf ears anyways considering they don't really listen to their fans. AYTO is a perfect example of this. People hated AYTO being on last season and that was obvious yet they waste spots on them again this season? Come on now.

True. They want to copy everything Survivor is doing but won't do the main thing that has helped Survivor's success tremendously: listening to the people who've kept these shows afloat for all this time.

And the thing about it is this show can't really do what survivor does because it doesn't really lend itself to the themes that Survivor does with ease. Take this season for example..people watch this show because they want to see their favorite cast members on it. Is anyone really going to care about their kinfolk? And in addition to that this theme really left us with a cast that really is not all that spectacular. I'm willing to bet that had they did another format we would have gotten half the people that were speculated to be on this challenge and it would have made for a better show.

honestly, anyone could have sent jill home. for all we know, these elimination rounds are all puzzles, or it involved a physical weakness of hers. we know next to nothing about these people or the format - and with cohutta injured and the shock of a new enviroment/the first elimination, maybe she checked out mentally. who knows who showed up to compete and who showed up for the cameras

I agree. I'm just wondering if they'd actually be able to mold something good, with even that balance of fan influence involved. Majority of the time, they seem to lack any kind of effort in their ideas IMO, and with fans weighing in, they'd have to really do some work to make it tolerable.

Ya'll thought Jill would be a Queen and she flopped. #QueenRiannaStillThere #Baddest*****SinceNia

Those hoping Cory goes against Bananas will be disappointed. They've hungout before and both live in Cali and from what I know personally I know they like each other. Bananas isn't stupid pretty sure he asked him to train together before leaving as well.

That means nothing. You better ask Sarah Rice who trained with Bananas before Exes 2.

I feel like even though some were stretch, looking at the big picture I think that the whole point of the skeletons wasnt the person itself, but exposed the issues the cast members were struggling with:

Jason: Becoming a dad and no making the mistake his dad did.
Tony: The player getting exposed.
Nicole: Her commitment issues, how both of her sisters were settling down while she wasnt.
Madison: Her addiction and how it hurt others.
Violetta: Being a bully because of her own insecurities
Bruno: Angry issues, stubborn. How something so little made gim not talk with his brother for years.
Sylvia: mhm according to herself alicia was their last option, they wanted her dad and abusive bf.

I think for the challenge it would be a horrible concept any smart cast member would find a fit person and just say that's the person they hate lol

I really blame social media , with all the little ***** girls and gay boys who lust after looks (the same viewers who sullied BGC) and use the term irrelevant to excuse their own ignorance and MTVs for not knowing who some of these people are. Back in the day was better for one reason mostly everyone was invited or given a chance and being a champion didnt mean jack shit. It was about having a cool experience with their "extended" family , Im just saying.

Did cohutta go into the elimination hurt or are we unsure?

I was told similar to Cara Maria on Free agents, So I am assumming he went hurt to the elimination.

Jill was eliminated not DQ

This!! It was a horrible decision to make a summer challenge this theme when the cast pool is huge during the summer.

Cohutta is a prime example of my interest towards the Bloodlines cause Jill was a non factor once I found out he left tbh. Emily even more of a non factor
With her non factor *** Alumni.

Hey PR, any word if Emily Reese is still there?

This too. It's just all around nonsense. Those are the types that MTV wants to cater to apparently.

Jusging from social network and her bf it looks like she is...No idea if she is going to be out in the 3rd elimination, most likely happening today

I thought they were only taking single bloodlines?

So do you still believe a guy went home before cohutta? Or was he just there longer maybe because he had to get his injury checked out ?

That's what I was told that they wanted single/young ones for a few exceptions but based on instagram Emily got in a relationsgip like 2 weeks before departure and well Jill is engaged but I feel like they would stretch anything for Cohutta/Nany/Kellyanne dynamic. Maybe she have a bubbly personality that production like.

Jill and Cohutta were eliminated the same night, they traveled back together sunday/yesterday.

Christina was already in the states since the 19, I haven't heard getting a dq or quitting so I am assumming tehre is a guy too.
