Of all the challenges to recreate they want to do The Ruins again? Yuck.
The format itself was superb, it was the awful Challengers team who were an absolute mess & of course JEK there to ruin any hopes of what could've been a legendary season.

I'm fans of Bananas and Kenny (Evan sux) but I agree..they ruined the entire challenge.
The format is pretty good and it'll be very dramatic if they have to select someone from the opposing team to go into elimination especially if its someones family member and that castmember is still there (ex. everyone wants to vote in Tonys brother and Tony flips out, etc.). It can get ugly! Perfect format.

What they could do is keep the same format but it doesn't have to be Challengers vs. Champions. The Gauntlet 2 and The Inferno 2 changed the way teams were made so maybe The Ruins 2 could be Rookies vs. Veterans or something different instead. The Ruins was an awesome format and it had the best elimination rounds IMO.

True. Not to mention the negative and depressing vibe of the whole thing and drama that either went nowhere or was painful to watch.

I don't really think the Champions vs Challengers thing was all that bad. I think if they had made the teams less lop sided, it could have been more enjoyable or less predictable. If they did this theme now, the crop they could get for the Challenger team wouldn't be awful as it was before. My thing is, if they could actually get people to return for a Champions team.

Yeah they really messed up giving the Challengers team Casey and Shauvon lol there was no way in hell they were going to win with those two. The Challengers today are much stronger since there are a lot of great competitors who haven't won yet. Establishing the Champions team would be difficult though because there aren't a lot of female winners from the new generation who are still interested in coming back.

It was legendary until Wes and Veronica went home.
If Nia isn't on this challenge like its being speculated then I think MTV must have dropped her. Up until recently she was working out and getting ready so MTV could've said no due to her being kicked off last season.
Still can't wrap my head around choosing Jenna over any of the Skeletons girls, Nia, Emilee, Ashley M, and Sahar. Really any other girl besides her lol

I say the bolded definitely wouldn't come back. With Tori/Sarah as questionable (maybe one more if the time is right and is a good theme). I think Laurel and Emily are pretty much done too unless they do an individual challenge.
So there's not a good chance of a challengers vs champions in the near future. Unless this team challenge provides a few new girl winners

I always thought they should have done Champions vs Challengers before Rivals 2. That gives the challengers Laurel, Sarah, Emily and CT. Throw in some combination of Jonna, Nany, Cohutta, Jordan (debut), Cara Maria, Aneesa and some average/weaker people like Tyrie, Devyn, Jess (debut) it would have been a great Challenger team. Once CT won I didn't think they should do the format again.
Also just realised, this will be Johnny Bananas' 12th challenge. Wow
Although I would never turn down a chance to travel the world and earn money, they need to stop relying on Johnny. He's not the only vet that people want to see.

Agree but I think they may have still had a shot after CT won...after Laurel won was when I agreed to the Challengers not having a chance in hell lol

I definitely agree! Instead of Rivals 2, we could have got Rookies vs. Veterans or The Ruins 2. A challengers team with people like CT, Emily and Laurel would have for sure dominated along with a lot of the new-school challengers (Averey, Cooke, Dustin, Johnny, Jordan, Leroy, Nany, Nia) sigh. If only this happened. It would've been great to see a large group of Challengers win.

Ohhh well I'm happy about that because she'd be a waste honestly. Still can't believe they didn't cast Violetta or Sylvia especially since there are 3 female alumni spots still open. They must already have 3 great additions, I really hope Marie is one of them.
