Themes aren't going Anywhere anytime soon, they appeal to viewers more than something like cutthroat or free Agents

Technically, Cutthroat & Free Agents are themes. I guess it could be said that they just weren't relatable or catchy, but there's more to it than just that. I mean, I doubt many MTV viewers are familiar with a sports term like Free Agent to where they can relate to it, but there is such a thing as promotion too, and reruns (which there are barely any for this show for some odd reason). Also, you have to look at time periods. MTV has had its ups and downs that have affected different season's ratings.

For me... I just think they need to come up with more new, unique formats that can be relatable, catchy, and can create a fresh, solid cast, unlike themes that heavily limit the cast to where it's just the same thing as previous casts. Also, like richjoe said, this show shouldn't try to be like all other reality shows (because it will get lost in the sea of them), but be its own, maybe something to influence other shows. Big hit shows didn't follow others, they started the trends. There's a lot out there they can do whether it's how they cast for the RW, the editing, etc.

Its crazy how it needs to be "relatable" or "catchy" in the first place imo. The Golden Era challenges got people watching from the cast themselves, not these silly themes. Says a lot about society nowadays, like lab rats getting tests performed on them or something.

Yeah, I hate reading those words myself. I initially watched this show around Cutthroat's era because I saw Ty & Emily from RW DC, which was the first RW season I watched. I never cared that it was called Cutthroat. I just saw people from a cast that I enjoyed. (well, I liked Emily. Ty was nutzo, but seeing him in a competition with Emily got me hooked)

That's why I edited my post saying something about changing up how they cast people initially. Get some people that viewers can familiarize themselves with from having relations with them beforehand. It could be a society thing too. Maybe I'm just being too harsh on the casts.

Same with me, I watched from the first Gauntlet simply because they looked so fun & I was drawn to Coral like a moth to a flame lmao but themes like now weren't needed back then.

I don't think you're being harsh at all, it's just your viewpoint on how they are casting this show & a LOT of people share this same view. Skeletons is a step in the right direction, but why not just cast people with stories like these from the start?

I think the best format in my opinion is Rookies vs Veterans. So that way specifically a lot of people from Explosion and Skeletons could come. People from St Thomas and Portland as well.

Vets vs Rookies isn't that great either. The Vets aren't going to be anything special, just the current lot being recycled over and over. It either needs to be Old School vs New School or Legends vs Veterans vs Rookies.

Thats kind've what i meant. Bring in a whole new bunch people and bring in Veterans whohavent won yet. All im saying is there needs to be a GUARANTEE of new people coming in who have talent. Free Agents brought in Johnny Reilly, Nia, Latoya, Swift, Issac, and Emilee. Nit counting Jess and Jordan cuz they came back from the prev challenge. Johnny did good, latoya and Nia left early, Swift and Issac sucked most of the time, and Emilee was non existent.
If a whole team consisting of Explosion, Skeletons, some people from seasons 21,23, and 24, & light mix of St Thomas and Portland that would be guarantee gold. And throw in Heather Marter. And of course the Veterans would be recyvled but viewers would be impressed with the Fresh Faces.

I don't get what's so good about Heather.

IMO, Naomi is better.

Naomi can stay home, she's a horrible competitor.

Naomi has some potential to be entertaining as ****.

Amen. Naomi was one of the best parts about Back to Las Vegas.

I agree, Heather >>>> Naomi

What we need is another Duel. The cast is begging for it and so am I.

These newbies suck. Some bring entertainment but competition wise, no comparison to the inferno/sexes/gauntlet etc days. This is why I think a lot of fans miss the old cast.

I diagree. I'd say there's a lot that are more athletic than some old vets from the past (that depends on what generation of vets we're talking about). The challenges are more grueling now. Entertainment wise they are worse... but really I'm personally not bothered.

Yeah, people can say the newbie sucks, but I think many of them have potential. If they edited Big Easy, as this guy looking for redemption, fun loving, and a team achor, but in reality he was devious back stabbing fat B*, or Diem, who is known for her very positive outlook into a bat *** crazy, level 10, clingly CT trophy wife on Rivals 2, or gave Preston the protagonist edit on Free Agents, then they can edit anyone into anything. They obviously think that their only hope is to give 90% of screen time to CT and Bananas is going to save them, which is going to hurt them, since the audience does not have a chance to relate to the other cast members. I actually think Jonna, Nany, Theresa, Frank, Dustin, Zach, and Preston can be very well recieved if they get a good edit and enough screen time. What use to make the older showers great is that it had a consistant story arc. As of recent, things just seem very unrelated, episode to episode.  Just my morning rant y'all.

Also, I don't think these newbies are any less athletic. Actually, think many of them are much more athletic then the alumni. Competition was much more instence back in "Golden Age" Challenge days, because the challenges weren't spin offs of the Iron Man challenges and stuff. Things use to much more fair, for example, on battle of the sexes, when they had to hold on to the boxing mats up in the air, or other fun things. Now it seems you have to have a bachelors degree in Crossfit to be able to compete in the Challenges, which why I think older vets won't be able to hold a candle to these newer kids in the challenges. Done with my morning rant. Merry belated Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Naomi is hilarious but she does suck as a competitor but hey at least she admits it.

I don't have a problem with people that suck but owns it, that's why I have always liked Casey. What I hate is people that suck but think they are great competitors *cough* Danny, Tyrie, Dunbar *cough*

Dunbar is not bad at all. I'd even say he's slighly above average. Both Tyrie and Danny aren't Shauvons or Big Easys either.

I don't mind people who suck either..As long as they bring something else to the show. They can't be just useless wallpaper.

However Big Easy has won an elimination.

Do yall think Heather Marter would be boring to watch?

Yes.

Do yall think Heather Marter would be boring to watch?

Yes..But I do think she could be entertaining if put in the right situation.

Do yall think Heather Marter would be boring to watch?

No. Heather is normal but she has always brought something to the show. I mean even on couples therapy.. she was the only one to tell Joe Francis off. She is really good with her words.

Dunbar doesn't really suck, he is just irritating lol but I agree Tyrie, Danny, and Big Easy try to act like they are good but they absolutely shit the bed everytime they come on these shows.

At least Casey and Naomi admit they don't want to do the challenges and they are just there for the expierience and to party.

I have never seen Tyrie act like Danny & Dunbar. When did he ever talk himself up?

When he claimed to be a division 1 football player at Nebraska. Then got his *** kicked by Kenny & Wes in a game that catered to football players.

Well Nebraska is a d1 school & he might have played football there so he was stating a fact...
Personally I blame Davis for that lose because he was much smaller than Wes & Kenny.

...that's it?

Compare that to Danny on the Gauntlet 3. Or Dunbar on Rivals 2.

Tyrie had to carry all the weight for both of those eliminations on Rivals 1/2.

Every season he is like "It is going to take a lot to get me out of here" and then he is the first one eliminated..
