I think the casting could have been better with the girls but it was the last time I've seen a group of different guys on the show.

San Diego guys were pretty diverse IMO.

All i gotta say is they better NOT use the same hostess from Season 29 on the RW season 30. That girl was waayyy to annoying and biased.

I think Zach/Nate were similar. If your talking about SD 2.

If Bunim Murray wanted to save their two sinking ships which is Bad Girls Club and The Real World it would make sense to switch around the way they do the casting. I think the recruiting needs to be done for Bad Girls Club. They need to find girls who have never seen the show so you don't have girls coming on trying to be the next Natalie or Tanisha. The Real World needs to stop the recruiting and go back to casting people who actually watch the show and want to use it to tell their story. This way we don't get the models and actors who think they know what we want to see.

I agree.

Although I do hope they would cast with The Challenge in mind. I don't feel like watching people with so much potential never get on to compete.

Isn't that basically what they do now?

I guess, but it'd be nice if they actually did consider people who would want to do a Challenge afterwards.

Murray claims they do not cast with The Challenge in mind, but I put very little credence in that statement.

He's such a liar. So I guess he just happen to cast people who happen to work out or have athletic backgrounds for fun.

Most of the people they cast haven't been athletic.  Some have--far from all or even the majority.  Unless Ex-Plosion and Skeltons are full of athletes

Almost every guy who has been cast in on The Real World in the last few seasons either showed themselves in the gym in their casting tapes or mentioned they have a athletic background. Most of the girls aren't really athletic but they mainly get the ones who will hook-up and fight for camera time. That's what The Challenge is really made of currently.

Going to the gym =/= athletic

Most people who go the gym are in better shape than most and would be considered athletic.

Lets be real, we deserve to be casted on the RW/The Challenge.

Have you ever been to a gym.  There's a ton of men and women there that not have an athletic bone in their body but care about what they look like.

Theres a difference between simply going to the gym as part of your routine and making a huge deal about it in your casting tape though

For the casting tapes it is about appearance.

I go to the gym on the regular. The guys who we are talking about who get picked on the show clearly are athletic.

We completely disagree on this one.  Very few are true/real athletes.

If you think about it they try to cast people that are attractive. Attractive people typically are skinny/in shape. Skinny/In shape people tend to workout regularly. So I don't think they specifically cast people who are "athletic" or "work out" it just comes with the package.

I've got to agree with kvm. Just because you're in shape doesn't mean you're athletic. I know quite a few people that go to the gym a lot that can't throw a football, or play sports in general, to save their life. Most people just go to the gym to be healthy and to look good. Athletics doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with that.

No one said everyone who goes to the gym is athletic. You guys are looking at athletic as a term associated with sports but the definition also means someone physically fit and active which can be associated with the last few guys who have been cast on The Real World. CrossFit which is big in most gyms is also considered a sport if you want to look at the term athletic in association with sports.

The main point being made is that they do cast people on The Real World that will also be a good fit for The Challenge in the future. To some people here it might not be a bad thing but to others it is.

Have you guys seen OWN's "Where have they been special" Yesterday's episode featured the 1st Real World cast ever reentering their old RW house, I would think you guys would been discussed but I'm shocked, but anyways you guys should check that out

For Christmas my family has gotten me:

The real world you never saw- Las vegas, Paris, Chicago, Back to New York

The Real world: The lost season

The real world: Decade of bloopers

and The real world: Exotic vacations

I only watched the real world you never saw Paris and Las Vegas so far and both were funny as ****

Also I have been personally thinking this out for a while.. considering they remind me of each other so much who do you guys like better

Ryan (Back to New Orleans) or Joey ( Cancun).. I personally liked Joey better

Joey ten times over again. I know they have a smilar look but I found them to be drastically different during their seasons. Joey was liked by some people there, Ryan.... no one.

I like Ryan lol

haha okay fair, some people like ryan. But no one on his season liked him or tolerated living with him. The guy was reallllll quirky.

Ugh I hate Ryan sooo much, I think I rather watch a season full of Jo Rhodes than seeing him again. Ok I took that too far but you guys know what I mean.
