"Challenge Gods" is a NON-VOTING CATEGORY. How can I put this? It's like, say, for example, the 2013 VMAs. Justin Timberlake wasn't nominated for the Video Vanguard Award. The Award is given to the inductee for their contributions to the genre that they're being awarded for. For Justin, it was his contributions to music through *NSYNC and his solo career work. In this award show, it's being given to the people who have made their contributions to The Challenge through (at least) a decade's worth of Challenges.
As for Aneesa, CKQ, I can kind of see your point on why Katie or Beth should take that Gods slot. As for a last-minute switch, I think I should put Katie in for Challenge Gods and Aneesa for Female MVP, but realistically, would anybody vote for Aneesa if she was a nominee in that category? The votes are already leaning towards Ev & Emily as it is in that one.
As for the availability for Challenge Gods, I picked them based on: A) When they made their debut or when I first saw them on the Challenge. I decided to include the major castmembers who have started on "Battle Of The Sexes 1", "The Gauntlet 1" and "The Inferno 1". Everybody else who made their debut on "Battle Of The Sexes 2" (Derrick) through "Battle Of The Exes" was available for the Male and Female MVP Categories. That's why Landon & Derrick aren't nominated for Challenge Gods.
Their contributions to the series as a whole. This is where I may bave to agree with CantKeepQuiet when I may change my mind about Aneesa. It's quite clear (as I'm seeing with the people that voted so far) that Katie has more of a memorable history than Aneesa or Beth. C) The availability that they may do another Challenge again. There are some exceptions to this rule (like The Miz, Timmy and Mark, who have said they would not return to the series again, or, like The Miz, has his WWE career to focus on, but, as for rule B, his contributions as a cast member on the show, to me, are well enough to be an inductee for Challenge Gods), but I also tried to base it upon how well they performed on the last season they were on, like Coral on Gauntlet III and Veronica on The Ruins. D) Your votes in the Nominee-Level voting. I really tried to create the best mix of all of your guys' opinions on this. I'm not trying to make this into a joke, I swear. The Challenge Awards is something I've been wanting to do for many years now, with and without help (I tried to get THE Derrick to help me make this a reality two or three years ago when I was mostly heavily on Twitter, then he went to do his own "semi-official" Challenge Awards himself.), so I'm trying to be as diverse as I can when going about these nominees and these categories.
I don't know why other Challenge fans kick down (and downright avoid) the Island and Spring Break Challenge seasons. Yeah, they suck, but we gotta make do with what we work with, and honestly, even though those two seasons sucked, they brought us into the psyche of other castmembers. Without The Island, we would've never seen the rivalry of Ev & Johnny Bananas brought to life, and then rehashed on The Ruins. We would've never had the beef between Bananas and Rachel on Battle Of The Exes, when he referred back to The Island saying that Rachel was not a trustworthy person to him ("My relationship with people in this game are just the way they left them the last time I saw them, and [Rachel] and I left on a pretty shitty note, dude."). Also, without Spring Break Challenge, did we all expect Camila to be a strong competitor when BMP decided to bring her into the series on Cutthroat ? What I'm saying is, on my humble opinion, we should embrace every season, no matter how shitty, and welcome it as part of Challenge history.
