I think the season will get better as it goes along Kvm from what I have been hearing, so try to hang in there. But dang they are kinda going at a slow pace. They need to throw more of Twisty in there which I hear episode four will cover his back story .

And I hate the fact Finn Wittrock is pretty much in every scene that Frances Conroy is in. He's ruining so many scenes--he should be on a soap opera at best.
If I was writing an episode for American Horror Story I would definitely try to focus on putting more scares & gruesome events in my story. Use these legends & make them 10 times scarier than they already are. Half the time I feel like this show never lives up to the title because it never scares me.

This episode actually didn't scare me as much!!! So then it definitely could be alot scarier if I didn't jump because I always do.
This is the first season I plan to watch through... The other seasons first few episodes are the reason I am too scared to watch this show alone.

It won't be that bad more Twisty & more of that Mordrake dude with two faces who still needs to claim a soul of one of the freaks. So shouldn't be to scary for you.
I guess it was just me then, but I feel this ep was a huge step up from last week... in fact this episode was great!!! I feel like it was more focused and the atmosphere was genuinely more creepy and cool. The whole legend... the lana song was actually perfect and fit perfectly into the episode (not as random as last weeks). The introduction to Emma and Denis was great... I actually love both of them!! They brought something interesting and special... a new storyline but not completely out of left field. "Esmerelda" was a perfect addition to the freakshow as her con-artist ways are pefect for the job... I think that storyline is going to be great. Denis with the world's biggest ***** was just amazing.. im sorry but yes it was hilarious! I know you guys hate Dandy, but I love the pairing of him and Twisty... and Dandy's clown costume was actually terrifying. (plus that scene were he tries to kill the maid was awesome!!)
Also loved all the "Halloween" references... at the beginning when you first see Twisty by the hedge and then across the street... I see what you did there haha... and seeing through the eye holes of Dandy's mask while he tries to kill the maid... that has gotta be a reference to the POV Michael Myers scenes
Speaking of references... was it just me or did you guys notice the three references to the three past seasons... When Ethel goes to doctor, the set looks almost exactly like the Coven street... including the high iron rod fences (go figure since they still film in NOLA)... also the flashback to Edward shows a house that is eerily similar to the Murder House... and last but not least the many references to Asylums in the episode. I don't know if those were all intentional, but I enjoyed the nods.
The pacing was a little slow, but it is part 1.... things will definitely pick up next episode as we already know... one Freak must die. hahahaa

Alright episode. Still not sure why they all need to be 90 minutes. I can see it getting better from here on out.
