This season is doing absolutely nothing for me...absolutely nothing.

Season 1 was still by far the best even if someone didn't like the ending because it was entirely unexpected.  Season 2 was predictable IMO but solid.  Season 3 strarted strong but faded.  This season is starting way too slow...hopefully something eventful happens in the next 40 minutes or so.

LOL--I mean, maybe the clown is scary...

I'm almost bored to the point where I'm going to fall asleep

Awwww noooo!! That sucks that you are hating it so far :(. This is first season I plan to watch through!! **** I have only watched the first 3 episodes of both the first and second season! XD

I just don't know who I'm supposed to care about or relate to and I have no idea if there's actually a plot.  I mean, I would like to thing there's a bigger story here.  The kid teaming up with the clown was predictable.

Yeah I get what you mean! I'm new to the series so it all just seems like a bunch of weird shit to me! I am also lost in who I am supposed to like haha!! I'm about to watch tonight's episode in 10 minutes. With every single light on! I hope I can make it through. I tend to stop watching things if they make me jump too much.

It's becoming tedious. I get the overall theme, but like you mention there isn't a major plot.

Next week looks like a two-part history episode.

Ive never been so disappointed with a TV show.

Right there with you RMD1.  I don't know if my expectations are too high or the show is just slow as **** without a major plot.

Season is definitely starting off way too slow... fell asleep several times throughout this episode. There's already too many characters and we don't even have the full cast yet!! And with all of these characters there seems to be no major plot going on... its just like do whatever you can to keep the show running/show people why freaks are humans too. I don't know... I just don't really care much for it right now... can't quite put my finger on it. (def think expectations were wayyyy too high)

Episode 2 was mehh... Like you guys have pointed out, there isn't a clear direction they're going in at this point but hopefully that changes pretty soon. Wes Bentley's character shows up next episode, so I am excited for that since there were some cool rumors about him. We'll see what happens though.

I don't think season 4 is as bad as everyone is trying to make it out to be. Just a lot of people probably had high expectations which is what happened to me during season 3. So far they have gave us a really creepy serial killer clown who I am sure is haunting a lot of people's dreams. I agree with kvm that season 1 is still the best season so far it was new & had an unique take on horror. I think maybe if they went back to a smaller set of characters & focused more on the plot while also upping the scares it would be a lot better.

I don't think season 4 is bad by any means. I haven't watched since 1 so I can't compare to 2 or 3, but 4 is not bad, just slow. Episode 2 was not as good as the first but it definitely set the stage for some great plot points. Once the ball gets rolling, I think Freak Show will definitely deliver!

Twisty is honestly the only part of the season that has lived up to expectations (imo). It's bad when I fall asleep twice in the second episode... the freaks need a better storyline!! Not this "lets act like normal people and hide a body!!"... and the musical numbers... seriously. They don't fit in with the show. It's not working. It's turning people off. I mean yeah they can sing and the songs are interesting choices, but it's taking me and others entirely out of the AHS world. The show really needs to pick up the pace... I don't mind when the show goes off into a few different storylines (Asylum) just as long as they are wrapped up properly... right now just having twisty and the freaks is not enough... give more subplots to the freaks... there are too many to have all wrapped up in this one little storyline about the townfolk/cops after them. Dandy was right about the Freak Show... "I'm getting bored".

I know it's only two episodes in and I am still holding out hope that it can build into a great story, but as of right now it just feels like everything is all over the place and moving in slow motion. I'd love for it to evolve into the perfect mix of Murder House (for the drama/quirkiness) and Asylum (for the horror/acting)... but right now it's falling into Coven territory (not saying that's a bad thing particularly, but it's just too hyped up and its falling apart before its even got off the ground (imo)). I will stay tuned because AHS is still one of the best mini-series around, but it better pick up the pace soon cause my interest is quickly dying...

By the way did anyone pick up on anymore clues for what we can expect from season 5?

I agree...the size of the cast is problematic

It takes way too long to try to introduce all the characters and build their history

I didn't, but I wasn't doing a scene by scene analysis.

According to Murphy, no one has correctly guessed it yet (from what he's seen). Two part Halloween arc starts next week which should help usher in some plot thickening.

Yes. The musical numbers....What really threw me off was that they had Dot singing "Criminal" by Fiona Apple. Really? When every other detail is meant to keep us in the time period that the show is taking place, they throw in a song from the mid-nineties? That was just...confusing. There are a million other "haunting" sounding tunes they could have picked FROM THAT ERA. It was so out of place.

Edward Mordrake makes his debut tonight! Hopefully it's worthwhile, it's actually a pretty interesting legend.

The Edward Mordrake legend is really interesting & cool. I think everyone should read up on it before seeing the new episode tonight. It makes wonder about what Matt Bomer's character is going to be in episode 5. Ryan Murphy claims something really horrible & messed up happens in the episode involving Bomer & Chiklis characters. Saying that maybe this could be the most disturbing thing they have ever done on the show & a true horror scene.

Omg you're giving me chills!! Looking this up now!

Here's a link for anyone who was looking for information on episode 3 or Edward Mordrake. http://www.ibtimes.com/american-horror-story-season-4-spoilers-check-out...

I think after they mentioned Sasquatch at least 3 times at the starting of episode 3 there could be a possible Bigfoot story line for season 5 lol.

I would die <3 I'm so excited for the found footage bigfoot movie, Exists.

Irrelevant side note: I'm really sick of having to watch the reruns on Wednesdays...

Yeah I can't wait to watch the movie Exists also looks really good. Plus I like anything from the directors from the Blair Witch Project I am actually one of the horror fans who appreciates their contributions to the horror genre.

Lurker are you not able to watch the new episodes on Wednesday nights?
