Not for you, but Susanne Daniels knows what she doing and how to attract the general current fan base of MTV not only the one from real world and this board.
They need it to shake things up, it was getting stale and no casting wallpapers/freshmeaters without fan bases wasn't the way to go even though I think they still cast a handful of wallpapers this season. I am not huge fan of Are you the one being included now but I know at least 3/4 people chosen are going to bring something to the table either competition, drama wise and other fans to watch it. Sadly they do have a bigger current fan base than Ashli, Sahar, Eric, Laura, trey Emilee, etc.
We will see how it works out.

I completely agree. I've never watched AYTO. But you know what? I haven't watched the Challenge in years either - because it's BORING seeing the same 20-30 people every. single. time. This shake-up to casting might not bring me back forever, but it's made me curious enough to want to at least look. And that's a good thing.

Um no. The only reason those seasons were successful was because of CT/JEK getting all the attention and being the main attraction/storylines.
Susanne Daniels probably just wants the term MTV The Challenge to have a meaning. The last seasons of the Challenge it was basically just The Real World: The Challenge.

That would actually be the smart thing to do, but they haven't done that in the past.

In are you the one all of them brought something:
Simone- Loud mouth, it's not afraid of getting in arguments, screw people for money and show no remorse like she did with Shanley on the show. I would say she is going to bring drama with other girls and probably with her partner.
John Jacobs- He can be a hot head and he is kind of funny.
Adam- He defend his friend on an argument and got in an argument with Brittany being obsessed with him. He can be confrontational. He is womanizer and has a good athletic background by what I heard.
Brittany- She is just crazy and psychotic when it comes to ADam. I have a feeling he is going to hook up with someone and she is going crazy on someone for it lol
I just say 3/4 since sometimes they are entertaining on w.e season or show they were in/ Then they do a challenge and just become background cast members. Like JD/Ayiia.

It's hard to keep 26-30 cast member in control, they have done it in the past and it hasn't work for them.
even though, it's against their contracts and they are NOT allow to do club appearances either.

From the one or two episodes I watched, I do remember him being funny. I love humor, so he's the only one I'm not too terribly pissed about being there. Besides, he's probably the closest thing to Andrew Woods we'll ever get.

Real World/Road Rules has been removed from the name for a while...It's just called "The Challenge" on MTV for a reason now days.
To be honest I was more pissed about Camila/Fresh Meaters than I am about this people lol Maybe because I got to see them on TV before and know they have their own fan bases so they can bring newer viewers.

I'm of the opinion that the jury is decidedly out regarding Susanne Daniels. Clearly she is bright and intends to bring MTV out of the dark, but can she succeed? Some people close to her are not so sure.
Attracting the "current fan base of MTV" is, mathematically, not a given formula for success. It may be sustaining in the short term, but as a long-term strategy, it is unlikely to succeed. The numbers are not there, simply from either a profit/loss or advertising revenue perspective.
The strategy far more likely to succeed, and one I've supported for years, is to bring back the viewers lost to other networks in the VH1 meltdown, pre-Jersey Shore. The two are very much interconnected.

Doubt it, the format is not attractive enough.
I don't think having half of the cast composed of are you the one is a smart moved. I think having strong personalities from the show is a good thing to do, but not that much just 4-6. It would be horrible if they have the wall papers from the show too Jessica/Ashleight/Page/Joey/Etc.
Btw just the 4 that end on this challenges were contacted, obviously thanks to their dysfunctional relationships with each other and "strong" personalities. I guess production see them bringing something to the table.

It's interesting that only 4 were contacted. I guess MTV just wants to see the response they get out of it before bringing in more. I guess I should give them the benefit of the doubt before completely writing them off.

It is speculated that they have to stay off for the full duration of the show. So like 6-7 weeks.
Pink Rose you said that someone DQ'd. Do you know why? Was it fighting, injury etc.?

Come on!!!! I did so much work cleaning this thread up, made it overly clear what I don't want to see in this thread and we have more of it today!!! And for the record, I didn't watch AYTO and I am totally ok with 2 or 3 couples from AYTO or another MTV show being on. If it was more then that, I would not be super excited but it will change up the dynamic a little bit and thats a good thing. It gets stale when they recycle the same cast members over and over again. They could have brought in couples we haven't seen in awhile to freshen it up but they went this route instead. It is going to bring in AYTO fans that will now watch the show AND it may even get Challenge fans to watch Season 2 of AYTO. It is a genius move to try and save a struggling franchise. This really shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. They changed Real World last season. And the number of new people that will tune in will by far surpass the people sitting there throwing a fit that they will never watch again. Kuddos BMP and with this info now linked, they should ride this wave and get this Challenge airing this fall!
