I'll definitely watch Asylum and Coven when I get the chance. I love the idea of an anthology approach, it so much better than some of the ridiculous, drawn-out stories we see season after season on some shows!
I know. I am half Spanish and I know my mom watches novellas, which are like soap opera's that have a start and end. It's not like shows that go on and on for 10 seasons. After season 7 of any show, they always use concepts and ideas from the first season, in a different way. It's a trick the writers and directors think they can pull.
Anyway, Asylum was scary because it takes place in well, an Asylum. In the 50's. If you do research you know facilities for the mental health were disastrous in that time period and the season captured it.
I don't think Asylum was scary...just dark
I have weird phobias. Like Silent films. It freaks me out. Another one is Asylums. I guess I did a lot of research on them, for my major, and just realized what was actually done back in the past starting from the 1800's going up to the late 70's.

Supernatural remained decent into 8 & 9. I'm biased on that one but I think so

I think everyone has weird phobias (haha)
"Dark" can be seen as scary by some

Hahah. Well if I like a show I will like every season even if I know it's starting to suck. I never watched supernatural but I heard it's a great show.
Murder House was perfect because it was unexpected...ended a little soft
Asylum was just all over the place IMO but still good
Coven started strong but faded fast and never recovered IMO
That's the thing with Murder House. It ended so terribly that I can't get past it. I think it's so overrated...

I didn't mind the ending though I understand why people hated it. I miss Kate Mara

I have a buddy that's part of that show so I was forced to watch it when it started. I actually grew to like it after a rough start much to my surprise.
The entire series is a breath of fresh air for TV. That show came at the right time. The Rubber suit man was freaky. Also how people were ghosts. I just thought that was a very well put together show, with a proper start, middle and end.

Agreed, Asylum was so much better IMO.

Murder House > Coven > Asylum IMO
Though Lily Rabe's performance in Asylum was amazing
I remember Lily Rabe from an episode of Medium. She was a great actress in that. Her acting was great in Coven and Asylum, although in Asylum you can tell she is one **** of an actor. I liked her hippie style in Coven. Care free.
Murder House > Coven > Asylum IMO

For me
Asylum > Murder House > Coven
I go back and forth between the first two, but Coven is by far the worst. It at times felt like a soap opera and that Zoe/Evan Peters storyline was pretty bad. In fact, Gaby and Taissa were very lackluster the whole season.
I loved all 3 seasons Coven I loved because of the cast Angela, Kathy, and Jessica leading the cast was phenomenal. I also liked Sarah, Lily and who can forget Emma as "Madison". Asylum was scary the whole premise of the asylum facility was scary as ****. Murder house was so creepy and unexpected. I hope this season is the best out them all.
I think this season has the potential to be the best one. The whole concept of a circus scares the **** out of me, especially the clowns. I'm interested in seeing Sarah Paulson's character, which is supossed to be a two-headed woman.
I never saw Murder House. I need to watch it on Netflix before the new season starts, but it's my sisters favorite season. She said it was really good!
alright then... gross. haha
But so excited!!! Really hope this seasons is good :D
Well deserved win by Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates for America Horror Story: Coven at the Emmys.
I didn't think Lange's performance last season would get her a win...Bates earned it though
If you could create you own season of AHS what would you call it, what would it be about, and who would you have in it?
These were a few I came up with (first one I actually had really mapped out and got so into it a while ago haha):
American Horror Story: Warren - Set in NYC in the 60s. A playboy club has a secret: The bunnies are werewolves. A few up and coming lawyers earn their keys the club and get wrapped up in a murder mystery revolving around the new york irish mob. A group of do-gooder housewives attempt to shut down the club which has been home to the pack of werewolves for years. Lots of murder, seduction, and betrayal... gotta have a bit of the Mad Men vibe but with a horror twist. (EDIT: haha didn't realize I posted the long version a few pages back on pg.24!!)
Lawyers: Evan Peters & Brando Eaton
Bunnies: Sophia Black D'Elia (Evan Peters love interest), Kate Mara, Ashley Rickards, Megan Fox, Tika Sumpter
Club Owner: Teddy Sears
Mob Godfather: Ian McShane
Mob Capo: Zachary Quinto
Godfather's son: Kyle Gallner
Housewives/Women's Rights: Brittany Snow (Evan's wife, Gallner's love interest), Jessica Lange (Snow's mother), and Chloe Sevigny (Quinto's love interest)
American Horror Story: Red Waters - Set in Cape Elizabeth, Maine in the 90s. A family inherits an oceanside Bed & Breakfast after the owner, a distant relative, is murdered on the premises. The workers all seem to be keeping secrets from the family, and soon weird things begin to happen around the building. What lies in the hidden corners of the labyrinth-like building... and unbeknownst to the summer-town residents, a shark begins to roam the waters (Think Murder House mixed with The Shining & Jaws).
American Horror Story: Camp Fear - Summer Camp-eque slasher season. Think Friday The 13th with Harper's Island and Scream mixed together (whodunits).
American Horror Story: The Other Side - Set in the future. Alternate realities have been discovered. On the brink of finding a way to travel their, but instead discover a loophole that transports them to the "other side"... the place where dead people roam the earth, ghosts scare up the real world, and monsters exist. Basically a monster mash season. Team of researches have to figure out how to get back after being trapped there.

Did you ever think of writing? Those are great concepts. It seems like you really thought it through. I would like one to take place in the 1600's. Maybe like a prequel to Coven, with the Salem Witch Trials, but it's a darker entry. Also there's no light or electricity so a lot of the scenes would be spooky. I think they can incorporate the past in an insane way.
Ameircan Horror Story: Trials or Salem.

I see that, he seems like a good writer. Good job.
Also a Changlin-like season would be great.
Maybe a Son of Sam or Black Dahlia season? I like how the show can use real historical events.
