The cliché 'Aneesa goes home' episode.

We realize this is a funeral for hair, right?
You know what? Not mad at the opening of this episode, but if they want people other than the casual fan to watch -- they have to NEVER DO THIS AGAIN. They literally held a funeral for Devyn's weave. A full on funeral. To a **** soundtrack. Between last episode and this episode, Devyn's weave probably got more airtime than Brandon Nelson - and that's sad. RIP to Devyn's weave, and RIP to bad openings to episodes.

Nothing's worse than being haunted by Adam Royer
Where there's Cohutta on a season, there's Cohutta landing some fine piece of real estate. Where there's Nany on a Challenge, there's her hooking up but wanting no part of a relationship because the men in her past ain't s***. Well, she's found a man who will respect her and appreciate her and what does she do? Gets bouncy with Johnny Reily (what a rebound for Johnny). This kind of thing has been going on since the dawn of mankind, so I honestly can't say I'm surprised. Upon reflection, Nany decides it would be a good idea to give something with Cohutta a try -- and that decision is made via flashbacks of Adam Royer from her Las Vegas 2 season. I really think MTV doesn't pass up a chance to drag Adam Royer's name through the sand, as if he were Devyn's weave.

Strike a Pose or Die.
There's multiple reasons why I like (not love) this Challenge. For one, it doesn't really cater to anyone specifically. Normally in Challenges there's an advantage if you're tall, or if you're strong, or if you've completed the 8th grade, but this one was kind of an even playing field. There was a level of upper body strength needed to stick in your harness, but it isn't like that other unnecessarily difficult team Challenge where you hung for 20 minutes and then tried to swing across ropes. The team with the better team unity won, and it showed. Everyone doubted Devyn in this game, but at this point she's been kicking *** on the field and off the field.

I'm calling shenanigans on Laurel
That awkward moment when you and the two people you hate are on the same time? One could make an argument that perhaps maybe Laurel didn't try her hardest in this mission. Chances are she'd be going in, chances are she'd be coming back. She accepted defeat early in this mission, so why not just follow through and start picking off chumps in the elimination round? They really didn't get anyone up there but Cohutta & Theresa. Maybe it's the conspiracy theorist in me, but it's plausible she could've secretly thrown it, right? I'm gonna end up on that list, aren't I?
Elimination Round
I didn't think much of Preston this season, I don't think many people did honestly. The first time we got a whiff of him on The Challenges, he was sprawled out on a balcony with that other girl from the New Orleans season. And while he still isn't the best competitor, I think he's reached the point where he's beginning to value the competition more and his fight in this elimination round shows it. If he actually intensely prepared, he might have a chance in this game. While I think the majority of the cast doesn't take him seriously, he's got a bit more respect.
I don't know about you, but Aneesa/ Laurel was a LOT closer than I initially thought it was going to be. I expected Laurel to go 2-0, but I also thought it would be decisively because well -- it's Laurel. But Aneesa gave her a run for her money, LITERALLY A RUN (bad pun intended). Aneesa doesn't get enough credit over the last few seasons (since Rivals 1) for upping her game, but I don't think that's going to be enough for her to actually win one. She exits her 10th season, with no Challenge victories. She better hope Laurel grabs that availability call for Rivals 3.
I still kind of wish Oppenheimer was Hall Brawl.
For the people saying CT isn't doing anything this season, that's a fair point i guess, but who in your opinion is doing something in these missions? they are all team stuff where no one is allowed to shine yet CT still has two moments of him shining this season during missions. First one, him and aneesa did the puzzle when it was clear no one else could out of them, and ct was put an inch above the ground adn relied on heavily to carry this last challenge, he also had Zach on his team, who imo is basically a sidekick to a main guy and not the guy you rely on but a good secondary guy. See frank on seasons being the captain, and just a lot of stuff he has done this season to make me feel that way..A lot of people saying ct doesn't care and has no endurance and is not in the same shape, he looked awfully strong there to me. Even if he is great, but not as good as he was on let's say rivals 1, who this season is excelling in your opinion and why I legit am interested in the answer and why...Eliminations don't count since he hasn't had to go in, not his fault he hasn't drawn the card..
For example, everyoneo was saying Jess is doing really good this season. She isn't doing bad, btu int he end she still is doing abouto middle of the pack at best. She did good at the first challenge, but it was a 3 part effort and her time was very slow. She has been a good team player this season, but what else has she actually done? She hasn't shown much to be thought of ahead of nany/jonna/theresa/ at best she would be at the same point as them but she has also not won an elimination yet but she has only been in 1 so she still needs to prove herself. Just using it as an example of how one person is doing "terrible" yet has shined twice, and on the women's side Jess is excelling, shining 1 time and not even doing it that well but just finishing it. It just shows how truly weak the women side is if certaiun people are looked at as excelling with these performances..To me it's Laurel, Cara M, Theresa, Nany is my power rankings left on the show if i had to choose top 4..Laurel thinks of theresa as a threat at least, she doesn't think twice about Devyn or Jess Imo
On to Nany and i am done i have been too busy with work so it's my recap for weeks of stuff...Nany basiclaly did what girls do when they know they have the upper hand over a "nice guy". She was basically with him and it seemed obvious up to this episode and based on their interviews and comments about eachother. Than Nany decided she wanted to hook up with Johnny R, so she pushed Cohutta away, knowing that she can just flash her smile and Cohutta would be like ok i forgive you. So she did, and sure enough he forgave her. She knows she can do it again if she wants and he probably will forgive her, so it's cohutta''s fault for not standing up for himself like i would encourage a girl if she was being used by a guy, and Nany's fault foro complaining about being with shady guys and basically doing the same stuff to Cohutta that she whines about that guys do to her. It's an endless cycle if she never learns, and i don't buy the i am young i make mistakes, i mean that doesn't excuse shady behavior, she has been on several seasons, she knows the drill, and she has been in this environment before. So it's not like she hasn't drank before, hooked up before, and gone crazy before. That is not an excuse to me ....

The reunion doesn't need Preston OR Swift. Who cares about either one?

It needs Aneesa and it sucks she won't be there.

I don't care about either....Jess dad I'd American while her mom is Mexican.
What has she done to warrant that sort of opinion? It would help your case to provide examples to back up such statements.
I suggest you rewatch the Cutthroat season and see how she acted towards Big Easy and Mandy on that season. She's a bully and attacks other peoples insecurities to hide her own...She is a great competitior but the worst part of it that she knows that and she acts like she is above everyone and can talk to them however she wants.

well the argument with big easy, was actually started by him. He insulted her first.
This elimination was the first one I've ever gone back to rewatch. Hopefully they stay just as intense for the rest of the season. And with the competitors left I think they could be.
Also I think Oppenheimer is my favourite "running at/through each other" elimination. The curved course means it's hard to build up momentum and gaining leverage so it's really about pushing the other person back as opposed to just running through someone, as well as favoring quicker contestants.
That being said I think Aneesa would have beaten Laurel in Hall Brawl.
well the argument with big easy, was actually started by him. He insulted her first.
Are you sure? I watched that episode about 2 weeks ago and I remember him walking up and Laurel literally lashing out at him for no reason.
Are you sure? I watched that episode about 2 weeks ago and I remember him walking up and Laurel literally lashing out at him for no reason.
It's been said by a bunch of parties that (even though what she said was awful) that Laurel was provoked. She tried to have lunch with him and Bananas during the day and he told her that she wasn't welcome to sit with them and then at the pool, according to Tyler, he called her a chest zit ***** that no one would ever date.
Doesn't excuse anything she said, but it wasn't just her unleashing the beast for no reason...editing did Big Easy a favor.
Are you sure? I watched that episode about 2 weeks ago and I remember him walking up and Laurel literally lashing out at him for no reason.
Editing.... supposedly he told Laurel some nasty stuff and she went nuts on him.
I always wonder about editing choices and how they decide who to give the "hero" and "villain" edits to. One would think that they would want Laurel, who is on her second challenge at that point and is one of the best to do it, to be happy and to want to keep coming back, versus someone like Eric who allegedly is a real ****** in the house and has only made it past half way one time. What do they really gain from appeasing him? They've obviously learned to a certain extent...they've given Bananas and CT good guy edits for the last few seasons realizing that they drive the show. They probably could've torn CT apart last season if they felt like it with the footage he gave them.
If you think about it, and I'm NOT condoning what she said, it was a real **** move by BMP to give Laurel that "skinny pretty girl bullies the fat kid for no reason" edit...that time was the height of that "It Gets Better" anti bullying thing. Then they let Maria Menounos lay into her during the reunion without being aware of the whole situation. Kinda threw her under the bus.
It doesn't surprise me that much was edited out of the Laurel/Big Easy debacle. Often on these shows they edit out the acts of the person doing the provoking, and then just show the reaction (which appears to come out of nowhere). That said, Laurel's reaction was so big and so ugly that it floored me at the time. It was like she killed him with her words with her first slew of personal insults, and then just kept going and kicking him when he was already down and she had already "won". I don't doubt that Big Easy said stuff to make it happen or initiate it, but it did surprise me at the time how low she went. So uncomfortable to watch.
I do like Laurel, but more so when she is off the shows (twitter, appearances, interviews). She seems more mature and likeable outside the challenge environment. But she gets really defensive, boy crazy and aggressive in that environment; it doesn't seem to be good for her and she always makes regretful comments on twitter/interviews afterward.
This time (despite the elimination with Aneesa) she seems so dominant I'm not sure why she'd feel insecure or have issues - the female field has really not been competitive. But perhaps there is some social "bullying" or targeting going on behind the scenes of Laurel on this challenge. Aneesa hinted in her spreecast that the cast members generally didn't like her and said some fairly awful things about her when the cameras weren't on. Aneesa said she's happy they didn't show it because it was so bad, and since she was previously bullied herself, it's not something she wanted to be made into a storyline.

This makes me so curious about what they were saying about her. And it gives me such a bad feeling about the reunion.

I'm sure Laurel will more than hold her own at the reunion.

I literally laughed out loud at IAMNEMESIS even asking me to give evidence that Laurel's personality sucks. It's like...have you even seen Laurel on a Challenge before?
To me Laurel's just kinda weird. I wouldn't say that I like her or dislike her. It feels like she brushes stuff off that would make most people angry, but then gets really annoyed and revved up about stupid little stuff that shouldn't bother anyone. Johnny Bananas hit her in the face with a water bottle during that argument on Rivals and she didn't give two ****s, but then Paula was just making dumb noises in the background and she exploded on her.
Yea like let's give the first 5 minutes of the episode to a wig burial instead of more scenes from the night Nany hooked up with Johnny R.
I don't know, that scene will probably rank up there as the one of the top funniest challenge moments when all is said and done with this show. I'm happy they kept it in.
Leroy, Jonna, and Aneesa aren't at the reunion.
Leroy and Jonna didn't really contribute much story-line wise, so I'm fine with them skipping out. But Aneesa, c'mon girl... you gotta go and call Laurel out!
