Frank ruined that season for me too and the lack of personalities taht season had...Nobody really brough anything else to the table other than Frank. It was a horrible mixed of people, I love Alex but based on her interviews on spreetcast
Yeah individually I think they all probably would have been fine on a season, but as a whole it just didn't work. All 4 girls were big dull duds. And I say this as somebody who really likes Alex and Priscilla, likes Sam, and has grown to be fine with Ashley. But they were just all so boring. A show can't be sustained based on two cast members (3 if you count Nate). It's the same reason FM2 is so dull to me, because it's all the Kenny vs. Wes show.
Regardless, I'm hoping it's not another themed season. Like if it's a Siblings season filmed in Atlanta, it won't be called The Real World: Atlanta. And that bothers me, even them cutting out the trademark Seven Strangers opening from explosion bothered me.
This is a joke right? The theme song was better than the stereotypical RW opening. Maybe they should've tried silent sounds like rw 1-4.
Vegas 2 was the best season in years. Everyone had a storyline, the cast was awesome IMO. My 5 top seasons (I started watching from Austin until now) Austin Las Vegas2 KeyWest Denver Nola2
Vegas 2? Austin? Now I really know the Kool-Aid is being drunken.
my goodness some of you are beating that horse to death! the season was very unforgettable, especially compared to the original. NOLA 2 was the same for me, even though I loved Jemmye. IMO the only sequal season to surpass its original was San Diego, which is why I do NOT understand why it did so poorly in ratings.
you're trippin'. just because its good has nothing to do with the ratings. same thing with the box office.
They already have a cast on mind by now. Plus sometimes they don't even cast those people that goes to casting audition, they just preferred to call modeling agency and get people from there like they did with explosion. So why waste people their time? They always take around 3-4 months for castings. It started on February for this season. Vegas 2 only took 3 months while ST.thomas/Portland took 4...Which one had a better cast that brought story lines and Ratings? Go figure.
Hm.. for me? St Thomas. Vegas 2 was unlikable and Portland was boring and felt forced.
Hm.. for me? St Thomas. Vegas 2 was unlikable and Portland was boring and felt forced.
I respect your opinion. My point is that BMP/MTV can still put up a cast that mantain, attract viewers and increase ratings which Both New Orleans 2 and Vegas 2 did and make good promotion for the season. Without relying on a twist. Have a twist but also look for other interesting qualities and back story that make them interesting. Not just their interesting relationships and how their exes cheated on them. Didn't someone on here wrote that they were interesting in people that were in current relationships...I hope they don't come out with real world temptation island or some **** like that. Looking at Bad Girls Club Chicago it make me realized that I miss when cast members went to the real world to better themselves and they actually show them talking about their stories. Real World explosion had a couple therapist that went to the house once a week, by what I heard Hailey open up about why she tends to take it in until she go psychotic after not being able to take it in no more and how not having her parents around and being raised by her grandparents affect her on her relationships. But production didn't found none of the therapies interesting enough to show them, instead we got to see the cast clubbing like 3 times every episode.
I, too, hope they revert back to the original "theme song" of "This is the true story, etc.". Even my friend, a "casual viewer", said about Ex-Plosion, "I really like this season but I hate that they changed the theme song because it doesn't feel like the Real World anymore." I think that's one of the things that make up the Real World. Besides, it's not even like the Ex-Plosion theme was good or memorable. It was just a bunch of sloppy, thrown-together scenes of people fighting.
I don't really much from the NOLA 2/LAS VEGAS 2 seasons. I watched them but I missed some weeks. Like once Cooke moved in I stopped watching Vegas and I was all over the place with NOLA 2. I didn't start watching week to week until San Diego 2 which I did enjoy. I missed ALL of St. Thomas. I loved Portland and Ex-Plosion. Thats when I really started getting invested in RW again. Only Real World seasons I've seen in full are Chicago Las Vegas San Diego Philadelphia Key West Cancun San Diego 2 Portland Ex-Plosion My top 5 in no particular order would be Portland, Ex-Plosion, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Cancun.

The only 2 seasons that have done that on the last 7 seasons are New Orleans/Vegas 2, Explosion did a little but after Lauren Pregnancy ratings went down hill. I am fine with twists, but I just hope they don't get stuck on the twist again and show more of the cast background stories and house dynamic. MY TOP 5 are: San Diego, a tie between Hawaii/Hollywood , Las Vegas 1, Las Vegas 2 and The first new Orleans. The 5 seasons I dislike the most: DC, Ex-plosion (It was only relationship drama, the stories got to repetitive for my taste), Porland (It was a snooze fest for me), ST.thomas (Stopped watching it after the fish episode, saw the reunion BORING), Philadelphia and Paris. In no particular order.
I hated DC, Portland, St Thomas, and Ex Plosion. Those are the only seasons I never rewatched agian.
The Real World will never get back on track until they quit casting models and fame *****s. You can't expect a therapist to come in a house full of shallow people and think something interesting will be said or that they'll open up. They are only there for the cameras, free booze, and attention.
Vegas 2? Austin? Now I really know the Kool-Aid is being drunken.
I liked Vegas 2, but Austin and Key West for me were horrible.
Rank of the seasons I have watched from best to worst IMO: 1. Hollywood 2. New Orleans 2 3. Boston 4. Sydney 5. Las Vegas 2 6. New York 7. Cancun 8. Portland 9. Ex-Plosion 10. Las Vegas 11. Austin 12. St. Thomas 13. Key West 14. San Diego
I like Vegas 2. That was one of the best casts they've had in a long *** time. St Thomas and Portland were both mediocre. I can't really talk about San Diego 2 because I've only seen a couple of episodes out of that whole season so I can't judge it. Ex-plosion was very entertaining to me. It didn't feel like The Real World at times. But it was entertaining despite most of the cast being completely unlikable and awful.
Oh and Austin was a Horrible season. How that season won that Best Season Award at that Real World Awards bash thing I will NEVER understand. What really was a *** to me was that Johnny(Key West) Winning for Hottest guy. I mean there was so many other guys on this show that are WAY better looking than he is.

My top 5 in no order: LA, San Diego, Boston, Philly, Miami

But seeing as I loved DC, Philly, St Thomas, and ExPlosion... you and I have very different taste :)

NO...the reason Jersey Shore worked so well is because they were all HOT!
I can definitely say I have seen every season in its entirety except for London, all of my best are from Seasons 1-12: Back 2 NY NY Seattle Miami Boston Chicago Las Vegas Hawaii San Francisco
I get what you're saying about them casting models...but would you really want a RW cast with people looking like Big Easy or Katie?
Hm.. for me? St Thomas. Vegas 2 was unlikable and Portland was boring and felt forced.
Portland? Boring? forced? Oh please.
I get what you're saying about them casting models...but would you really want a RW cast with people looking like Big Easy or Katie? If I wanted to look at models, I would watch America's Next Top Model.
I have a strange feeling of them returning to a location , hopefully its not some overused location but someone mentioned before them going to NOLA again I would't mind because we haven't seen NOLA outside Madri Gras season and there still potential for the city to produce a amazing environment and work for the cast but it's time for Atlanta or Dallas.

As much as I would LOVEEEE for them to come back to New Orleans (so that I can stalk them and take pictures and hang out with them!), it would be too soon, especially for a three-peat. I'm hoping for a new location but wouldn't mind a repeat as long as it's an interesting location (not something like Seattle or Denver... those are cool but don't capture my interest as much)
They shouldn't go to Atlanta if there in Georgia but instead Savannah, GA. I much rather them go back to Philadelphia or go to Nashville. I think Nashville would be a really cool location and its new. Big nightlife scene down there as well.
I get what you're saying about them casting models...but would you really want a RW cast with people looking like Big Easy or Katie? NO...the reason Jersey Shore worked so well is because they were all HOT!
When I say models I literally mean models. With the past few seasons they've literally been casting models which is why the show has no substance besides hook-ups and stupid fights. You can still cast people who look good without them having modeling on their resume and who are actually willing to open up.
My wish is for them to go to Atlanta but being that this is Season 30 I'm thinking it will be New York.
