For people saying Zach hasn't shined so far, i agree, but in these missions it really hasn't allowed anyone to except 1 or 2 instances. Unless you go into elimination it's been very hard to see what you can do so i hope it improves on that, or the name free agents to me is stupid, it's been as least individual as possible so far. I mean you can be on the winning team every mission without being dominant in anyway, but it shows you are a good team player so that's an asset, but still you can still be an average player and keep being on the winning teams which is part lucky, and go far without actually being very good.
Also yea Zach does joke around a lot, he doesn't mean much by it. Even Nia Favorited his thumb sucking comment. But i just don't find the guy funny. His humor is a lot of like gross humor and i don't find that clever or funny at all. Zach was basically a fanboy, who went on rw to do the challenge, i have heard that from a few people. He always talks about how he wants to face ct and he loved CT on the rw paris and watching him backpack Johnny made him motivated to go work out harder etc. He also just said in an interview how he won't consider him a top tier challenger unless he faces and beats ct 1 on 1. I found that interesting that he would say that, he usually is pretty arrogant but he basically admitted he isn't top tier yet.
My thoughts on the episode:
- The opening segment was pretty fun, Cohutta always gets the finest girls in whatever house he's in. His Huckleberry Finn country charm game is impeneterable. Damn I wish I was him. For some reason, seeing Aneesa in the background while Jasmine's on the stripper pole makes me think Aneesa should be coaching her in the background. "WORK THAT POLE LIKE WE PRACTICED, GIRL."
- Between the Preston thing last week and the male stripper thing this week, Johnny's parents have definitely facepalmed themselves into the ground by now.
- "You have a viral infection, the doctor says you're very contagious." *Bananas side-steps away from Frank*. THAT'S SO ME. Sucks to see Frank go home, especially since he was such a good competitor -- but for some reason I think he would've went in 2-3 more times and may not have made the finals either way. No proof on that, just felt like eventually he would've met his match this time around.
- This Challenge was kind of boring, especially compared to the last two. I could see the level of difficulty in it, but it wasn't thrilling (especially considering they didn't post the times) and no one seemed in any real distress. Things that surprised me were: Cara Maria picking Aneesa (WTF, you're supposed to be Trishelle's replacement on Rivals 3), no one picking Bananas on the first time around (because this is exactly the type of Challenge he's incredibly good at), and Jasmine/Jonna/Jordan's ******* decision to NOT sit-out. No offense, but you're a player short, with Jasmine on your team, and you can really only use one of your hands. Kudos to Nany for pulling an Evelyn an doing the guy's work.
- Isaac's the king of one-liners on this show. Bring Isaac back ALWAYS.
- Despite them supposedly hating each other, I think Camila and Bananas absolutely have each others back in the game. They're in an alliance that may be flying under the radar. Until maybe he ****** her off to no end again, but I think this season has reached it's quota of Camila freakouts.
- In an overlooked moment of this episode, I think CT's beginning to realize that he's getting closer and closer in having to face an elimination. He hasn't particularly shined in any of the Challenges -- perhaps due to partners. He's going to have to start winning these eliminations or else he's gonna have to risk going home.
- Anyone else think there wasn't a kill card on the guy's side? Just seems convenient that exactly on The Challenge Frank went home that no one went in. I'm assuming if Jordan hypothetically pulled it, they would've continued to put one extra card until someone didn't pull one in the future.
- This elimination looks painful as HELL.. It's similar to Ankle-breaker in Gauntlet 3 or Tug of War from Gauntlet 2, but those two posts add more external force to it which makes the opposing force a bit more painful. Imagine how long this would've been if the guys went. I still don't think they would've had the guys in this round.
- ISAAC: "C'mon, best out of 3!" WHERE HAS THIS GUY BEEN ALL THESE SEASONS?!
- Good work to Cara Maria for extending her elimination record (especially with wins). At this point she's been in so many eliminations that she isn't afraid to go in one, but I definitely agree this may have been her most painful one yet. Yes, more than Emily spiking her on her head in Battle of the Exes. Good to see everyone on her side for once, a stark contrast to the Rivals 2 reception she got.
After show:
- LOL @ Nia & Jasmine. I don't want to be a part of this never-ending discussion of who's right and who's wrong and which team you represent, but on first glance I can tell that Nia is a stronger competitor than Jasmine. Nia's a future power-player, like Beth. In fact, it remidns me EXACTLY of Beth.
- Tyler still looks in Challenge shape. Shame he keeps getting the shaft on appearing on one.
This is Jonna reasoning to why they decide to do it:

That's exactly who Nia remind me off, a lot of people dislike her but she can be descent if train for the challenge and she is an intigator that owns people with words (i don't think is as aggressive as she made it seem on Portland). I have never seen her Coral Comparison.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how Laurel has been all that cocky this season? Rivals yes, Cutthroat yes, but she hasn't done anything yet this season to deserve being called cocky. I think she's just confident?
But I agree about Jordan. I still kind of enjoy him though.
I agree. I don't understand why so many people are saying that Laurel has been cocky this season. I haven't seen it. She's certainly confident, but I don't think she's been overly cocky.
Jordan is definitely cocky. I don't hate him for it, though. I just think he's overcompensating. From what I understand, from childhood, he's always out to prove that he can do anything anyone else can and do it better. Unfortunately, instead of just letting his actions prove his abilities, he has to open his big mouth, too. Quiet confidence is a more attractive quality, in my opinion.

LOL. Isaac doesn't get a lot of airtime, but when he does, it's usually good. He has some pretty funny one-liners.
So far the most consistent players have been:
Bananas, Brandon, Cahutta, Isaac, Leroy, Preston, Zach
Camilla, Devyn, Jessica, Laurel, Nany
These people have not been called in or been apart of the draw, disregarding the first draw.
Camilla and Jessica stand out by being the ones to cross the logs, having good times in steering the tandem bicycle, and taking the W in last nights episode.
Cahutta crossed the log, won the bike mission, and was an integral part of bar crawl. Same can be said about Laurel besides crossing the log.
Meanwhile, Bananas, Brandon, Isaac, Leroy, Preston, Zach, Devyn and Nany have been playing a consistent game of not being last and not being picked.
I just noticed the weird edit from this episode. It starts off with a party and you can clearly see Cara Maria walking around with an icebag on her shoulder from her match against Nia. Also Nia is nowhere to be seen at that party..

Do you know Aneesa's record off the top of your head?
I'd love to see Cara Maria make it to a final this season.
What is Cara Maria's record after this episode?
0-1 Fresh Meat 2 first ep
1-0 Cutthroat vs Mandi
2-0 Rivals with Laurel, Door and Football eliminations

Aw man, you're going to have to go back to the Bible to track down Aneesa's record.

I think she has 8 wins and 7 loses.

Wiki says she has 8 wins and been on 9 previous shows. 2 Battle of the sexes had no eliminations, she made the final on Gauntlet 2 and Duel 2, so 8-5?

Oh, didn't know BOTS had no eliminations. Makes it 8-5, you're right.
During the After Show when Johnny was questioning Nia about what happened with Leroy, did anyone else catch her saying "she was getting a protein shake."
Perhaps my mind is in the gutter but I thought that for utilizing her thumb sucking ability and finishing.
I don't comment that often here at Vevmo, but I have to say something. I am a CaraMaria fan since her season on Cutthroat, but I always acknowledge that she was a pretty decent competitor, but not one to really fear. Last night's episode changed my mind. People can say Nia is a terrible competitor or what not, but I believe that CaraMaria's win last night made me think she is better than just decent, (perhaps in eliminations specifically). What she needs is confidence in her abilities and she can definitely a top tier player for the girls. I loved this story line because it was a happy more determined CaraMaria than the usually complainer. Sorry for the rant.

Oh no Nia is not a terrible competitor at all in my eyes. She has a lot of potential and if she really steps it up I can see her becoming another Laurel (competition wise), she also has a great height advantage. Cara Maria beating her was probably her greatest elimination round win. Because usually she goes against weaker girls than her.. Mandi, Jonna, Jasmine, Nany, ect. I always thought Cara was a "solid" competitor. On each season she's one of the best females, but she's never the best.
A lot of Aneesa's eliminations are individual, which holds a lot more weight than pair eliminations, especially when your partner is Laurel and Cooke. Last night was Cara's best display of competitive ability both in challenges and eliminations. Individually, Cara had only really beaten Lacey, Mandi, etc. until last night.

Yeah Cara Maria is really just idk. Do you remember how she competed in the finals of Cutthroat and Rivals I? I don't remember her doing amazing or bad. But I remember in Rivals II she really struggled with carrying the heavy bags, and her arms are way more muscular than Cooke's who looked to be carrying it just fine.
One thing I didn't really like, and maybe this is just how my brain works, but why did Jessica, when there were already 3 votes for him and she could've just thrown her vote on a non-factor like Preston, she vote for Johnny? Yes, I realize she doesn't like him...but at the end of the day he's still her season. If I were Johnny and it wasn't a gun to head decision I probably wouldn't say Nia or Jessica's name despite not liking them...I just find it weird when people throw their former roommates under this bus.

I never watched the seasons, but earlier in the thread or in a different thread, someone mentioned the portland cast aren't tight with each other.

Jessica doesn't really give a damn about her cast. I think the only one she was even kind of remotely close with was Nia. I don't think Johnny was looking out for her either though. And it doesn't make sense to **** another person off when someone's obviously going in.

Being castmates doesn't mean you need to or should protect each other.
Johnny and Jessica aren't friends, and honestly I don't think he took it personally anyways. He even cracked a little joke "Thanks girl!" and she laughed. I think he realized Jessica probably didn't want to risk possibly ******* someone else off since she's a rookie. Although I guess she purposely chose Devyn over Nia. So who knows haha.
