Still I think they would go to somewhere nicer. Besides why would they put it in Detroit just to show how its getting better, making a city seem better isn't a concern of the producers.
With the rumored twists prduction has planned, the city won't really matter. Just like this season...

Get to know the city and do what you could to help. Appeal to emotion through the dilemma of an area. New Orleans 2 brought that back a bit, after the devastation of Katrina.
I'm saying the producers don't care about that they did before but now its all about drama. Why do you think they chose to give the cast of St Thomas a house on a private island. They wanted them to hook up with each other and cause problems, what better way to do that then to isolate them form everyone else aside from a boat ride to nearest club. But they could go to Detroit I sure as **** didn't think they would ever go to St Thomas.

Yes I do but why do you think it being in Detroit would be good for ratings? The best season in a while ratings wise was Las Vegas 2. Granted location doesn't really matter for ratings but still
Location matters for cast , had they put San Diego in San Fran or Portland it would have been 100% better. Looking back at San Diego 2 , I really feel like it was a good cast but they all were so laid back that putting them in a suburbs in the middle of summer was a huge mistake ,.
I don't think it would have changed much, People hated San Diego 2 cast
San Diego 2 is seriously the most boring group of girls they have ever assembled. It's not even that I dislike them, but none of them was particularly interesting. They all probably would have been the boring/forgotten one on any other season so putting all 4 on one season was just... not a great idea. And I actually love Priscilla and Alex, like Sam, and have grown to like Ashley (she's the most boring though).
I agree. Zach & Frank were like only good people to be casted who weren't boring for that season. Nothing against the rest of them but they shouldn't have been casted. Such a boring group of girls.

I think Zach was cast for his looks and it showed throughout the season and the challenges. Same with Ashley. And Frank seemed like a good idea with all the drama but his drama was quite boring after the first outburst. Nate and Sam were funny, fun, party people with some substance.
If they end the series at season 30, I actually don't want it to be a regular season. Because it's not as if they're gonna get 7 of the most amazing people or some grand format all of a sudden. I think they should do like a Real World: Where Are They Now. Every episode will be one hour dedicated to a seasons cast reminiscing their time on the show and seeing what they've been up to since. Starting from season 1 NY all the way to season 29 Ex-Plosion. Then there can be one grand 2-hour reunion bringing all cast members on (season by season). It may suck with ratings but that's just my personal wish IF season 30 is the final season.
I feel as though if casting were better, and instead of doing 3 straight "Back To" seasons, the series' ratings would still be reasonably well. Back to New Orleans and LV2 did great, after that point they should have hit a city like Atlanta, Dallas, or Toronto.
Anybody notice that Mike from The Real World: D.C. is in a new Disney movie?

Real World has been real West Coast for a good bit now Since Back2Vegas with the exception on St.Thomas all the seasons have been on the West Coast. Maybe they should hit the South or even the East coast again. They should consider hitting Miami,Orlando,The Bronx,Baltimore,Pittsburgh,Atlanta, or even Houston mainly because I live there.
The Bronx? ***? yOU'RE On the money about Houston/AtLanta as well.
Hawaii was garbage. AMaya/cOLIN? Was she desperate? Chicago 2 would be nice. I agree. As for twins/triplets that would be pointless.
Is it safe to say that at the least if the ratings keep at this pace for the remainder of the season we can expect to see Season 30 casting calls take place soon?
Not sure if anyone has posted this elsewhere but Rolling Stone posted an interview they did with Jonathan Murray. It's a pretty interesting read about the beginnings of the Real World and also the Explosion twist.
