Clearly people aren't tired of CT and Johnny, the fan base and viewers they bring helps a lot to the challenges, people like Zach or frank don't have that,
Clearly people aren't tired of CT and Johnny, the fan base and viewers they bring helps a lot to the challenges, people like Zach or frank don't have that,
I agree with you, but Zach/Frank also have strong challenge fan base now...Not as comparable as CT/Frank yet. But their fan base have grown since Battle of the seasons. They are the most popular after Nany/Dustin/Leroy from this new generation of challenges (I am talking about Brooklyn- Ex-plosion). They are becoming the new regulars.
BMP knows that Johnny/CT are retiring sooner or later...I have heard one of them even stated on his confessional for this challenge that this was he last challenge. So get used to seeing more of Zach atleast, since as of right now Frank is done.
I wouldn't ***** if they'd completely phase out Bananas and CT. Those are the two that I'm sick of seeing over and over again. I much prefer Zach and, as much as I hate to say it, Frank. Bring back Derrick and Darrell as well and I'd be happy.
CT/Bananas/Wes are the most popular from current challenges...Get used to see them until they start retiring, which I heard atleast one or two of them are done.
CT is actually one of the most popular after the Mix in the Series Overall.
CT brings viewers and excitement to the show, he;s always like a ticking time bomb. He made the entire Gauntlet 3 show with his trimming the fat strategy, and probably had the memorable/craziest/most entertaining moment on the duel 2 while he was only there for half an episode.
Once Bananas and CT leave...I don't know if I'll be able to keep watching. Not a single person in this new generation is charismatic or interesting in any way.
People act like they're 60. If they want to keep older viewers they have to keep "old vets". They need a couple each season--at least. That's reality. They have to keep those fans to survive.
It doesn't matter how old they are. The fact is is that MTV/BMP can't rely on them forever. THAT's the reality that you(nor anyone else) seems to get. What happens when CT says he's done? What happens when Johnny is Done? The show just dies? They gotta have new regualrs. The torch is going to be passed whether by choice or force.
And People keep talking about Battle of the Seasons and how nobody watched it..It may have gotten bad ratings but a lot of the people that were on seasons 2 also were on Rivals 2 and will be on this upcoming season. They're gaining a fan base, they're gaining popularity. Just because that one season did bad doesn't mean that the new generation isn't worth watching. Stop taking those ratings to heart.

Exactly. They gotta make sure that this show can survive without those 2.

I kind of disagree with the first paragraph. BOTSeasons 2 wasn't too long ago. Zach, Frank, Nany, Knight, Jemmye, etc... have only done 1 challenge since then, and they weren't even the main characters like they were on Seasons. So I'm not sure why you think they have a bigger fan base. They may have more twitter followers which comes with being on tv but that doesn't equate to strong fan base (where a vast majority of people will tune out if they aren't on it) I think it's just the same. If all those people were on Rivals 2 challenge without Diem, CT, Johnny, Paula, and Wes, I don't think the show would have gotten the ratings it did. They can't carry the series. And I actually think Laurel, Camila, Emily, and Cara have the ability to carry the show than the people you named but even still, that's not enough. You just named people with a lot of twitter followers. The Vegas crew are the most popular real worlders out of this new group but on the challenges, they're just there. No major roles or major impact on the any particular season.

Such blasphemy. And I shudder to wonder which Vegas season you're referring too.

Well seeing as Alton, Trishelle, Frank, and Stephen were huge characters on the challenges they did, I guess I'm referring to the other one.
You know, the one where Leroy and Mike were puppets on Rivals 1, made it all the way to the end and didn't even make a dent. The one with Leroy, Naomi, Dustin, and Heather were all on the same challenge season and again... didn't even scratch the surface. The editors tried to make something interesting out of Leroy and Naomi but gone and forgotten. Wes(who left an episode earlier) did more. On Botseason2 Dustin and Nany were good competitors, but got tossed around by the other teams politically. The same ones they were following orders from. And on Rivals 2, well you saw what happened with Leroy and Nany. But Cooke definitely has a chance at making some noise but I doubt she'll return.
So like I said, they are popular real worlders but as challengers... very meh overall. Dustin and Nany are good for drama though. But anyone can do that. Heck, Preston can bring drama.

I think they can carry the series. I think that people still need to get used to them. Just like they got used to John/Paula/Wes/CT etc. I think that if given enough time the new kids could have a strong fan base.

I don't think it's about time, I think it's the characters. Go back and watch Johnny, Wes, Paula, and CT's first seasons. They had great one-liners, fun, funny chemistry with other cast members. It wasn't just about the drama, they were just more entertaining to watch. They were to me anyway.
I do think if Jordan wises up about the game, he could bring a lot more. And this new challenge has some more rookies on it so hopefully some of them will be better characters for the show.

I think they made they're best impression on Seasons. They weren't good as far as strategy but they were the most entertaining team there. And I personally wasn't expecting that with them. Drama counts for these shows. It's what gets people watching.
And I don't recall Steven ever being popular. Alton, Trishelle, and Frank I'll give you.
And you're right. Anyone can cause drama but not everyone can cause GOOD drama. Dustin and Nany create good Drama and that counts for something on these show because not everyone can do that.

But I was comparing them to John, Paula, Wes, CT, etc... people who have made a name for themselves within their first few challenges. It wasn't just about the drama with them. That's not why they're as popular. At least I don't think so. There just aren't as many good reality characters coming on the show as there was back then. So the few that are left are going to get the most attention from BMP.

I disagree. None of them had(or were) any of those things of their first Season. Well except for CT. He had his moments and Drama on his first challenge but he wasn't as entertaining as he would later become.

But the only one who really made an actual name for themselves in there beginning of their challenge run was CT. The other three got there audiences over time(due to being brought back too many times).

So Wes making it to a final, after winning 5 exiles with the worst possible partner then winning his second challenge isn't making a name for himself?
So Wes making it to a final, after winning 5 exiles with the worst possible partner then winning his second challenge isn't making a name for himself?
No. I don't consider stupidity and luck making a name for yourself.
I dont think it was luck that Wes won the duel. He proved himself at least to me and being a fan of the show and the first time watching the challenge fresh meat before hand I wasent a Wes fan but after the season I was because at the time he was pretty unstoppable in elimination rounds
It definately wasn't luck Wes won and sure as hell not stupidity. He came from the bottle at fresh meat going in every elimination and somehow managing to stay out of the last few getting shane and linette to go in, getting darrel and aviv to go in. He masterminded the end of the game and came in third with one of the worst challengers in history.
The duel, he took out Derrick, also strategically played the game by having Evan go against CT and then winning the last elimination. He made his own little alliance and 2 people out of that alliance made it to the finals. Wes was an amazing competitor. After the whole Johanna/Kenny thing, I think Wes stopped caring about the game and took everything personal because he couldn't get over that but he was one of the best back then.

Oh I think it was luck when it came to The Duel...He was lucky that Ct got that BS DQ and got sent home. That doesn't happen I bet you Wes Doesn't win. That was luck.
Oh and It was Wes's own damn fault that he got stuck with Casey. I remember there was a scene that never made it to the show...He was talking to Coral and it was about why he picked Casey. I recall him saying that he all of the girls left were horrible(Diem, Casey and Aviv were the only ones not picked) and it didn't matter so he just picked Casey(or it was something to that effect. I haven't seen it since it aired.)And mind you Derrick made it far with Diem and Darrel not only made it to the end but WON with Aviv. Neither of them were as bad as Casey was. So he stuck himself with Casey and THAT was stupidity.
And winning ONE challenge doesn't make you the best. Katie has won one challenge also, does that maker her the best female competitor?
No. I don't consider stupidity and luck making a name for yourself.
But his "character" did. FM was all about Wes in the beginning. And The Duel just really solidified his place on this show. He had already made a name for himself before returning on the Ruins.
Also with these new kids, a lot of them are followers. On BOTSeasons they were talking so much smack about the older vets and when they had their shot at taking out the vets on Rivals 2, Zach, Knight, Frank, Jonna, Nany, Jemmye, Trey, and whoever else who debut on Seasons never made any type of big move against anyone. It was Johnny, CT, Wes, Emily, Paula, Diem, and Camila's game from day 1. The vets even got those rookies to throw each other under the bus.
Hopefully the rookies change it up with this upcoming challenge because if not then why would vets like CT and Johnny quit if the rookies keep handing them a fat check each time.
So they'd have to have an entire season full of newbies and really old vets in order to have some type of suspense. But they need the right newbies. The ones with character as well as competitiveness. Some examples: Laurel, Cara, Camila, Emily, Sarah, Marlon(if he returns), and Cooke(if she returns). I could see them taking charge and run an entire season with this new generation.

Wes has won 2 seasons and more eliminations then anyone else. How would he possibly know Diem and Aviv were good competitors? And Darrell won BECAUSE of Aviv without her the puzzles would have killed him. I didn't expect Aviv to be good. Also I thought only Diem & Linette were left besides Casey not Aviv
I would have to agree Wes got lucky. It was quite obvious CT and Evan were the best guys there. He convinced Evan to call out CT (not pure luck, as it takes mind games) and then completely lucked out with the bs dq rule. CT woulda smoked Wes in that final elimination, no doubt in my mind

You're right. Aviv was the second girl taken after Ev. Casey, Diem, and Linette were the only girls for Wes to choose from.
I remember that scene, so if it was not aired it was on the after show or something. he said something to the effect of they are all useless, so I took the cutest useless one
