It is allowed because they did not DQ them for it. The rules are vague and the producers can enforce them however they want.
O nice observation , I just noticed it too, Jemmy is holding and pulling the rope for Camila with the saw itself, she isn't actually grabbing onto the rope with her hands. This is great strategy and maybe that was the whole point of this elimination round was to help each other.

I'm giving myself a slight pat on the back. I kinda predicted the 3rd place elimination although it was a very wild guess to account for how long the Final was going to be. Also I enjoyed the double twist they did. I personally wouldn't have been happy with them doing some sort of Amazing Race style Final. I like Amazing Race, but it would have been a bit too out of left field.

Yep. I hate these "Last team to arrive part 1, will be eliminated" type of things especially after this weak first round that wasn't really that hard or extraordinary like the previous finals. Give them at least the experience of a final after they work hard for six weeks and reached the finals.

Paula seems to be pretty close friends with both teams now. So I think she would be equally concerned with both teams.

Yeah I don't like it either. If they were going to do this then I think they should've just made it a Final 2 instead of Final 3.

I don't think Paula saying that is indicative of anything. If you look when she says "ooooh they capsized" she's smiling. I would think she'd be a little more frantic about it if it had been Johnny.

In all honesty, the two teams that make it on both the guys/girls side were probably the only two teams who had a shot at winning the final anyway

Here's a interview Dunbar just conducted and in it he said he threw this challenge, also stated that he makes 5 figures in the challenge wether he lost first week or last week which seems alot has it always been this high Vman or is he just blowing smoke. Cause third place this year splits $15,000

Before or after taxes? 10k is a very good month, an even better week. But still theres no way people can live off of 5-10k a year. Do you know how much making it to the final is? Besides the prize money is there like a bonus?

I would think before. They get paid a decent amount for club scenes and lectures. I'm just not sure as they are as In demand as they once where.

Before taxes. Day one or all the way to the finals, it's the same scale for veterans.

Decent amount? Not for years. When the market became diluted with reality people (about 2008), the top reality people could no longer find good paying clubs gigs. Non-MTV types were undercutting the market and taking as little as $300 - $500 per night, often with no travel expenses. Very, very few people have done well in recent years.

The sad part about Dunbar, aside from the Ev nonsense, is someone else could have competed if he had opted out. That's why throwing that first challenge is so disreputable.

last I heard the sum varies [B][U]widely[/U][/B] depending on the individual....7/8k to 20k is pretty realistic..
