I watched the vmas and I saw 3 commercials for rivals 2
Thanks. I am curious as to how much of an impact those commercials will have on the ratings for Wednesday's episode.
Ratings tonight will be interesting considering tonight is the series finale of Futurama as well as the debut of the new season of The Ultimate Fighter both at 10:00
The first TMNT tv series premiered in 1987. There have been 3 reboots since then. The newest incarnation pulled in ratings ranging from mid 2s to low 3s over the past year. Clearly, mutant turtles are at least twice as exciting as the doobers BMP has cast on these shows. I blame Johnny. He tries, but he is no Michaelangelo.
That's a cartoon for kids KIDS are the 3 million viewers and kids don't watch MTV
I'm not too sure about that.
A plus up of 154K is nice. Don't get too excited, though. Historically it reflects the bump always seen from post-Labor Day viewers across the entire TV market. Even QVC gets better numbers after the unofficial end of summer.
Challenge 17 is correct that the rating is good, but if it hand stayed the same, that would have been bad. One could actually say the ratings are about the same given the post-Labor day bump.
I feel as though there's probably a correlation between the ratings Diemnesia got and how entertaining Thrilla in Camilla was however, I'm assuming the viewers gained this episode were a result of how well the previous did, which leaves me a bit optimistic next weeks episode might get a huge bump from last night's theatrics.

Well, you shouldn't have been optimistic:
CHALLENGE: RIVALS II MTV 10:00 PM 1.335 0.8

It's clear now that Duck Dynasty has in fact taken viewers away from the show
That or the after show being coupled together with the episode as an hour and a half episode (if this is how the rating is calculated) actually hurts the full rating

Nope. If you look farther down on the chart, you will see:
CHALLENGE:RIVALS II AFTER MTV 11:02 PM 0.812 0.5
I was curious about the same thing as well though.
Its a shoe about a family that are redneck millionaires after inventing the duck call who hunt all the time and have beards
Despite how that sounds, its a great show
Traditionally, final missions tend to rate well, with some who dropped out during the season as one's favorite was eliminated returning to see who the last competition. The marketing of this episode wasn't helpful, having forced viewers to determine that it simply wasn't a continuation of the prior women's elimination episode. Confused viewers make choices.
My guess is that next week's ratings will remain steady or even grow slightly. Personally, I have a hard time understanding why Susanne Daniels thinks these are such good ratings. Maybe someone from MTV LA will tell me???
Susanne Daniels probably thinks the ratings are good because the rest of the shows on MTV are doing poorly. Ridiculousness from last week got a .5 in the 18-49 demo and 900,000 viewers, which is comparable to the **** They Should Have Shown for Rivals 2 and the Aftershow from last week.

Susanne is a highly experienced professional who knows exactly how present ratings become a factor in the equation creating future advertising rates. From that perspective you are correct with regard to other current MTV programs, however, what Wall Street looks at in its evaluation of VIACOM stock are what past ad rates/program ratings meant for past stock price history. NBC's branded cable channels are currently kicking MTV Network's butt. Daniels was brought in to elevate the position of the network and achieve a greater return on investment for the stockholders. So far, the jury is out on any improvement. The "professional" majority cast of the next challenge may, in fact, represent her influence, since it's the kind of casting BMP has never done before.

This sounds like it could either be great for future ratings, or a complete disaster... Hopefully the former. Though the current ratings are no where near perfect, maybe Daniels views it as progress when comparing it to the ratings of BOTS and the past three RW seasons. She sees there is still some potential, albeit small, room for growth.
I think the reason why the ratings were so low is because the Big Brother Finale was on and most people who watch Big Brother watch the challenge. I will admit I didn't watch Rivals 2 till 12. And the **** Show was probably low cause well it always is and people were probably watching Watch What Happens Live which was on from 11:15 to 11:45. So I feel next week will be very good!

Very true! The challenge and Catfish are the only show that I think gets over a million viewers which is good for mtv! So to me the ratings this season have been great a consistent! Which is what the show is looking for. And the buzz for next season is huge already!

Uh no. Teen Mom is doing so so compared to the other seasons but it's definitely averaging way above a million viewers. As for Ridiculousness it's fine, that was the first episode this season that didn't cross the million viewer mark.
