I read that last night. I think I'm done with the real world.
I stopped watching Portland couldn't stand Nia and knew some of the stuff coming up and didn't want to have to see it. It's such a shame to see the show become a cheap Bad Girls knock off. They should be setting the bar not lowering themselves below it. I really hope they change things for the next one or I just won't bother with it, not got much hope though.
LOL@TRW suddenly becoming a "knock-off" Keep dreaming. Nia was awesome entertainment. However i wished Joi would've stayed so we could see her and Averey interacvt whether good or bad.
According to Johnny, he actually talked to the Producers and they said they would NOT interfere. It's criminal. You should listen to his and Averey's interviews with the Bus Driver Route on youtube. BTW, Johnny and Averey are still together.
I doubt anyone cares if Johnny and Averey are still together truthfully. LOL. And I rather hear it from the producers mouth anyway. I remember them once try intervening in the NY house but decided it would be best not to for later seasons.
So the people of Charleston, SC have decided that they don't want The Real World anywhere near their city and has created a petition. The reasoning behind the petition is that filming will cause Traffic issues and will also ruin the City's reputation. I honestly think it's a bit ridiculous being that it seems as if it's always the locals starting drama with the cast during filming. Anyways the petition almost has 5,000 signatures and I honestly hope they don't decide to film there because in my opinion this isn't a location that is going to revive the show or bring any interest.

Funny thing is Johnny could have prevented this if he wouldn't have made such a huge issue about the Dog **** or decided to put his Snotty tissue on Nia and throw a drink in her face. To degrade someone and then run to Production when they retaliate is absolutely crazy. To be honest as much as Averey and Johnny want to play Victim they had as much involvement in the altercation escalating as Nia did but the difference is they won't admit it.
Let's be honest. Charleston, SC probably wasn't up there on TRW's radar...
True but neither was Portland until sequels.

Many people I know think that Charleston is the least Redneck area of South Carolina along with Myrtle Beach.
You just reminded me I would be down for a Mytrle Beach or Virginia Beach. I just hope the last two seasons if it is even 2 are at lest Minneapolis/ATL or Tokyo. That would be good too. Well maybe.

Having been to Minneapolis more times than I would like, why? Why would MTV torture us like that? This show has never been about a locations people outwardly attempt to avoid. As far as Atlanta, it has no identity. If the show was to be in Georgia, Savannah or Athens would be the locations of choice.
With Tokyo, the entire show would have to take place in an apartment the size of my bathroom and it would suck because the cast would be trapped in there eating a watermelon which cost $40. Yes, that would be the entire season - a one episode thriller titled "The Watermelon - A Death Ballad".
If The Real World is coming to a end this is what I would like to see:
1. Season 29 - The Real World: Atlanta
2. Season 30 - The Real World: New York (Back to the Beginning / The Final Season)
If it's in Georgia then Atlanta or Athens because of the University of Georgia. My other ideas would be Miami or Tempe because of Arizona State. Basically, I think they would be around a college campus which may or may not get more people interested.

Minneapolis in January would be awesome. Getting drunk and freezing to death after leaving a bar would be just the publicity BMP needs to save the franchise!
(For the uninitiated, read with sarcasm)
I think Chicago would be a great location for the next RW Season way better than Portland and St. Thomas so much more the cast can do in this city.
Bad Girls Club Season 12 is currently filming there which is also produced by Bunim Murray.

Have you actually EVER been to Tokyo or Japan period? Yes it's "expensive" like V1 Man is saying but the apartment size thing is really a novice thing to say especially when they found reasonable size houses in friggin' France and England. ****, even perverted Thailand. So I'm sure they can pull it off just fine.
And no it doesn't cost that much for a watermelon there either. Been there twice and loved it. My mom still lives over there and between working there and in Kuwait. I rather the former though to be honest so you can see why I would like it.
As for Minneapolis I suggested that because it's original. Also, I don't know why anybody thinks Atlanta has no idea when it does. **** Portland was an awful location and they pulled "it" off just fine.

No. We need to slow down on the back to seasons and raise the stakes (and the ratings) with something less predictable and original.
Plus BGC is like a Mexican knockoff in which they are using many of the TRW locations for their show.

Bad Girls Club isn't being a Knock-Off it's just doing exactly what The Real World has done which is tackle major locations and see how the surroundings will affect the girls. The fact is The Real World has been around for over 20 years so it's hard not to find a city they haven't touch minus Atlanta which Bad Girls Club has filmed in. :)
Can you explain? Just curious.
I personally can't think of what makes Atlanta great. It's a cookie cutter city with a downtown no one talks about. It's spraw at its worst east of the Mississippi.

Tokyo isn't even in the "maybe" conversation. "Not a chance in ****" would be kind.

Well I personally think Atlanta is one of a few cities that could actually give The Real World ratings to survive a few more seasons. Downtown Atlanta is pretty great and it's continuing to grow mainly because many people have taken interest in Atlanta in the past few years. Also most television shows do pretty well that are filmed in Atlanta. Here's a few:
Reality Shows:
1. Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta
2. The Real Housewives of Atlanta
3. Married to Medicine
4. Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta
5. T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle
6. Bad Girls Club: Atlanta
Scripted Shows:
1. The Game
2. Drop Dead Diva
3. Necessary Roughness
4. The Walking Dead
5. The Vampire Diaries
6. Teen Wolf
What about cities like Phoenix, Houston or Miami
I would love it if they paired the RW cast in a city with a sports franchise(if any franchises would allow it). This would increase publicity and the cast could work/intern for the franchise and do behind the scenes work.
I'm surprised they haven't gone to Phoenix yet. I think someone said that Phoenix has the possibility of being the largest city in the US within the next 5 years.
So is it confirmed yet if the next season is back to Miami?
If it were confirmed, there would be separate thread about it. Actually, I don't think management really cares. After last season, I certainly don't.
