Just to make it clear the girls who threw away their vote are not Rookies.
True. My mistake. "Newer cast members."
Not everyone is planning for rivals 3. It's absolutely insane that everyone keeps saying "They are only picking fights with one another for the next rivals." We won't have a Rivals 3 for a long time, if ever. There aren't many more seasons, if any, MTV can milk these pair challenges. It's getting annoying and repetitive. They have an entire new generation who have NEVER competed in team missions. It will bring way more drama and be a nice change of pace. I really don't think I will watch next season if we get another pairs challenge.
Exactly. Wes ian't setting up anything. ****, Leroy might be done with these challenges by the time Rivals 3 gets here.
I'm with you, skimthrough. Like most reality programs, cast members on the longest have a pre-defined character that started in their first or second seasons. Think of the Real Housewives franchise. We watched Diem grow up, so to speak, from Fresh Meat until Rivals II. She went from a "blonde" chasing Derrick on Fresh Meat to a scared and needy girl on Duel I to a newly revived feminist in Duel II and beyond. Seems she has a big target on her back because of the convergence of her "showmance" w/CT and her first cancer recovery. MTV gave her a lot of screen time in the Duel I confessionals and much of it was just silly. She was sort of absent during Gauntlet III except for floating in the pool w/CT but she got a lot of confessional screen time in Duel II. I think the heavily made up eyes and the crocodile tears in those confessionals lent themselves to fans perceiving her as fake. She certainly has leveraged her fifteen minutes of fame into something meaningful and noteworthy -> Medgift. She deserves props for that. If you read the "thank you" tweets and comments from other cancer survivors, you can tell that she has impacted their lives (as she once told CT he had done for her). She deserves props for putting herself out there to give people hope.
That doesn't excuse some of the awful things he's said on twitter. Towards people's occupations, weight, looks, etc. Stop making excuses for this guy. So he can do anything and people are supposed to not dislike it because he's being "a character"?
Camille, may I ask what gives you the right to declare that anyone should stop making excuses for someone neither of you actually knows? Frankly, there is a difference between explaining (not excusing) someone's behavior and supporting that behavior.
Does anyone else feel like Ty, Emily, Camila, Paula, Preston and Cara Maria have been invisible for much of this season? I feel like they are rarely shown around the house.

Wow, what Frank said to Knight is messed up. I don't care what Knight has done, that is beyond messed up. I actually have never really despised Frank as much as some people but I've lost all respect for him. He said he learned from last season and changed but clearly he hasn't. He said he learned a lot from his low blow to Nany but clearly he hasn't changed and quite frankly I don't think he ever will. Disappointing. Also Theresa's tweets to Laurel about Kenny.. Dear lord, it is sad what some of these people will say to each other over a game. Sick.
Does anyone else feel like Ty, Emily, Camila, Paula, Preston and Cara Maria have been invisible for much of this season? I feel like they are rarely shown around the house.
Other cast members have said that Ty slept most of the time and didn't participate with the group when they talked around the pool or kitchen or only room that was air conditioned. I know nothing of Preston, but do know that the other you name learned directly from Evelyn who was the mistress of camera avoidance. There are key techniques to employ for learning to avoid camera time. One time-tested challenge and RW technique is to simply lie in bed or sit on a chair, including in the presence of other cast members, and say nothing and avoid any ****** reaction to anything happening around you. TV is obviously a visual medium and when you give the crew nothing to work with, they will go find the available camera *****s. The pay for the cast is the same either way.
All I'm going to say is the fact that you're calling his actions dumb shows that he is getting a reaction out of you. The most called up competitors are the ones who get some sort of reaction out of everyone whether it be love or hate. (examples: CT, Johnny, and Wes)
That goes for Frank too.
It makes me sad that a lot of the cast members and fans are hating on Diem. I get that the cancer storyline might be annoying to some people, and she was kind of shady in the last episode with the rap thing (the truth to that has yet to be cleared up, in my opinion), but her voting for Leroy/Ty was... not wrong? It's not her responsibility to make up for rookie mistakes, i.e. "throw away" voting gone wrong. She mentioned in an interview that she left with a lot of rivals, and now we're seeing why, I guess. Not saying she's perfect, but the rookies do seem to be out to get her. As Imjustsayin said in another thread, this is just not her challenge.
One reason I'm not feeling Diem this season is the way she plays the game. Every season it comes across that she's entitled to a final and that she shouldn't have to put in work to get there and this season's no exception. It's actually more apparent. On the topic of her cancer storyline, it just muddies up the character she's depicted as. Rivals II story line depicts Diem as a brave, strong cancer survivor and juxtaposes that with her weak, fearful gameplay. Personally, I think I liked her best on The Ruins. :D

IMO at least, ___________________ I also don't know why ppl are harping about her sense of entitlement now.... it is in no way a new development.. Also, she came in with 4 very good girl friends and left with those 4... I'd find it hard to believe that she cares much if some of the rookie girls don't like... she strikes me as someone who knows exactly whose opinion matters to her and whose feelings are worth consideration...
Perhaps Frank too, is playing up a character of sorts off the show. It's certainly working because many can't stand him.

She seems to be leading discussions and working coalitions. I am in the minority in that I don't see her actions in Rivals II or any of its predecessors as being those of entitlement. Maybe it's semantics. There have been others, both women and men, who did not want to go into the jungle, the gauntlet, etc. but wanted to compete in the final. For example, Jodi from Duel I articulated that quite strongly. I could be missing something but I don't read entitlement. I didn't care much for her team play in Battle of the Exes until the very end but I give her props that she not only persevered to get up that glacier but also accomplished it. She has said that she is very much a "girl's girl" which highlights the feminism I spoke of earlier. I get that -> it's the Sisterhood forever theme, meaning you have some respect for your girlfriends and you don't go out with their exes. be it one day or ten years after the breakup. It explains a lot about why she got so angry during Duel II. and why the behavior of the newer female cast members annoys her. It annoys me, too. You (I) don't expect the younger generation of women to go back to riding that zipper highway to get ahead (pun intended). I don't know Diem but I like what's she's done w/Medgift and her p.r. campaign for sick folks, whether they have cancer or not. While that has nothing to do with her game, it's probably why I am not as harsh with her as I might be if that wasn't part of the package.
That goes for Frank too.
yea big time
she came in with 4 very good girl friends and left with those 4 Can you enlighten me to who these people are?
Naomi's tweets are about Jemmye I'm assuming. So much twitter drama.
she came in with 4 very good girl friends and left with those 4 Can you enlighten me to who these people are?
they are 3 Camila Paula Emily
they are 3 Camila Paula Emily
I'd argue for Aneesa to be included as well.
you said came and left with. aneesa wasnt really a good friend for diem until rivals 2 and no thanks i dont want to argue
you said came and left with. aneesa wasnt really a good friend for diem until rivals 2 and no thanks i dont want to argue
Jesus. A) I didn't say anything because I didn't post the original statement. B) No further comment.
i really dont care who posted it i just answered your "post" and you really dont have to comment
So let me get this straight Diem & Aneesa are in an alliance with Emily & Paula, but the guy teams that back them don't like each other?
So let me get this straight Diem & Aneesa are in an alliance with Emily & Paula, but the guy teams that back them don't like each other?
Yep really weird aint it, but theres nothing the guys can do about it, Diem did say she tried really hard to get Wes/Johnny and Frank/CT to get along cause she told them she wont vote for any of them. Although Id think Emily/Paula would back Johnny/Frank if they had to and also if push came to shove Id say Diem/Aneesa would back up CT/Wes. So in a way CT/wes and Frank/Johnny are actually in an alliance together even though they probably dont want to be However I do see CT/Wes getting closer with Cara/Cooke and later in the season we see them arguing with Johnny and Cara hates Johnny, so I see Cara/Cooke and Diem/Aneesa to be Wes/CT's main alliance. I dont think they really need to have any loyalty to Paula/Emily, Paula/Emily only really have Johnny/Frank at this point
So cara is over the Coke incident then?
She's been over it for a while.
Johnny and CT are actually friends though and Wes and Frank are somewhat cool with each other so it kind of makes sense they are all aligned. Diem is close with Johnny outside the show and she considers Wes a brother and her and Ct, well yeah so technically they are all aligned. All of them are the real Vets of the show like CT,Wes,Paula,Johnny,Diem,Aneesa so it makes sense they are all working together for each other's sake.
So cara is over the Coke incident then?
I believe they are secretly bffs lol ok maybe not that but I'm sure theyre friendly now. She tweeted that she loved rooming with him and Trey and trey is gone now so its just him and her till however long they are there. And she said she has a much better opinion of him than of rivals 1, she said he's the opposite now and she defended him over the Wes doll thing on twitter. I think her hate has shifted to Johnny now. Her and CT are also friends

I'm not a huge fan of hers, but all things considered this makes a ton of sense on her part.

I'm not a huge fan of hers, but all things considered this makes a ton of sense on her part.
It makes perfect sense and and basically summed up my rant yesterday. I think she had no blame at all in last night's episode, she feels closer to the other guys than she does Leroy/Ty, so what? thats not a bad thing, Leroy/Ty should also not feel entitled. She mentioned Ty even admitted he would vote for Diem/Aneesa at dinner, like ok what more reason do Wes and Diem need to get rid of Leroy/Ty? Imo Theresa/Jaz/Nany are all just unstrategic crack heads, Theresa said she thought it was going to be Knight/Preston, then she should have voted for Knight/Preston. I really dont like some of these girls doing cop outs, throw away votes isnt going to save whoever will end up going in. lol ok I'm done ranting about throw away votes. I think the whole theresa/Wes/Leroy thing could have just been hyped up to make a story line. Wes could have simply left just cause he thought that room was noisy and wanted to get rid of Leroy for the same reason Diem stated but of course that reason is boring so it makes it more interesting if it looks like he was out for vengeance and the Theresa/Leroy hook up was his motive to get rid of Leroy. And if Leroy really was "annoying" and making fun of Wes then I'm sure that gave him the extra push to go ahead and target him before anyone else but I doubt the personal issues were the main reasons to target them
can someone please explain to me why if Marlon and Jordan pick the order for that day's challenge, they put knight/Preston and Jhonny/Frank after them?
