To reiko, what I said wasn't a fantasy challenge. I understand threads have gotten locked rather quickly but legit speculation isn't always "off topic"..It has been hinted at that this isn't a "traditional" rivals, so one of the only possible twists to "Rivals" is what I mentioned above and Morris posted a team list pretty similar to what I had in mind.
Where should legit speculation like that go? It doesn't belong in generic, and it doesn't belong in fantasy, and it can't go in one of the locked threads. Just because things are being locked doesn't mean everyone needs to be rent-a-mods. This is the only topic to discuss the upcoming challenge and it doesn't seem like anyone is "frustrated" by it. He was joking when he said that. Leroy and Ty are very good friends. Leroy joked that he spent alot of Ty's money that he received from BOTE while he was in Vegas. Leroy put Ty in VIP at his job in Vegas right next to Terrell Suggs and Ty was upset that TSizzle wouldn't give him an autograph. I don't know how they'll be paired on the show, but they are friends.

Yea mtv will just forget about Wes and Johnny then even though they had beef with CT, clearly Ty/CT is a bigger rivalry. You guys this whole teams thing is nuts, you have to think how the rest of the pairs would work in each scenario. I think its a consensus by now that the problem people are Johnny/Frank/CT/Wes and we'll just have to wait to see how theyre paired. Some of these cast members are background people on this challenge, they are just there so there are enough teams. no need to get worked up on whats considered a legit rivalry for someone like Leroy, its not like Dunbar/Tyrie is legit and it happened Just like on rivals 1, the whole point of that show was to pair CT/Adam and Wes/Kenny, the rivals format was basically just for them, people were are not watching a "rivals" challenge for the Tyrie/Davis rivalry, same here ppl are not watching it for the beef between Dunbar/Tyrie or Leroy/Ty

Maybe they wanna save up Vets/Rookies and Duel 3 for a better cast, that's the only logical reason. The original rivals had CT, Wes, Kenny, Evan, Johnny this might just be a "filler" season to introduce some more rookies and build up last seasons. If johnny is with ct it might be so he can get a win for a future champions vs challengers. The "rivals" are weak, almost to the point they're friends which is making the pairing difficult

That's like saying any challenge filmed in Thailand must/has to be a Ruins, well, look at this challenge... it's Rivals. With the rules of The Ruins they can do anything from the likes of Vets/Rooks, RW/RR, GG/BA etc. BM and MTV can do whatever they want.
I soon would like to know which cast members they tried to get for part 2 but rejected this challenge.

No it’s not the only logical reason, I think they know next season need to do good in rating if not this show is not getting another pick up and they need to attract new viewers. Before the first Rivals I didn’t know this spin-off show even exists, I didn’t even know those people rivalries. I just started to watch because I thought it was cool to see people that didn’t like each other work together. In other words in order to attract new viewers they need it a catchy theme that people can relate to it. Even though, a lot of these rivalries are weak, they know they just need clips of people screaming at each other, arguing or humiliating each other to make people that have never seen this show to see it. Do you think I knew that Camilla/Theresa was fighting for sweat pants? No, I thought they had a huge rivalry but then I saw Cutthroat and realized that it was stretch. Do you think rookies vs. Veterans can attract more viewers than a theme people can related to it? Most likely not, I think they are hoping this season does what the first Rivals did which was technically attracted new viewers, saving the show and getting it renew.
The thing is that people wanted Rookies vs Veterans with last season cast especially with the whole “Rookies Revolution” people wanted to see CT/Johnny/etc humiliated Frank/Zach/knight/etc. But after this season those people are going to be veterans.
Assuming Leroy is with Ty, then CT will be with Johnny. To me it's as simple as who has promo footage? CT/Johnny do, Wes/Frank do, I think hoping for a "twitter promo" is a fan wish and not realistic unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong though

Possibly, they wanted to go a different route, but couldn't get enough people? Maybe some people dropped out last minute or simply said no from the get go... Obviously recent challenges have been in small team formats (teams of 2 or 4) instead of just 2 teams. It's very easy to pair people up.
I keep wondering if the challenge will actually be titled "Rivals 2". We haven't had a sequel in quite a while so it will be interesting to see what the title of this challenge will be.

As for format, think "Occam's Razor:" The simplest answer is usually the best.
The possibilty of C.T/johnny are they are actual rivals but I love C.T as the underdog and Wes is a great underdog , I just feel like it would be more drama with C.T/Wes and Frank/Johnny. Frank/Wes V.S Johnny/C.T just don't have the appeal to me that C.T/Wes Vs Frank/Johnny would. As for the girls Paula chooses her rivals smart I swear lol (Evelyn,Emily and Laurel). I can totally see Nany/Cooke and Aneesa/Diem dominating the elmination rounds. Everyone else on this challenge is meh filler hope they go home.

Nany/Cooke? If you follow them on Instagram you will noticed that they are friends and not only they have to make sense. But they also need to add up with the rest of the cast and none of the girls should left without a partner.
For example if you put
Nany/Cooke
Jonna/Camila
Jemmye will be by itself.
If you are thinking that they would repeat
Jasmine/Jonna after last season.
Nany/Cooke
Camila/Jemmye
Then Theresa wouldn't have a partner.
The only way possible for every of those girls to have partners would be:

Nany/Jonna (They must have footage from last season and reunion even though it wasn't show. W people that attend the reunion know that they didn't like each other)

Truth is MTV/BMP can make pairings out of many people. We all know, from the first one, many will be a stretch, but still the show must go on. So if they want they can just edit fights to make pairings.
I just thought of something, if it is rivals which it most likely is, why isnt Derrick here??? Derrick/Wes? Unless Derrick refused to be on it (doubt it) that leads me to believe they wont use twitter beef, Wes/Derrick has gotten worse than Kenny/Wes was lol pairing up Wes/Kenny now would be good cause after Wes' rapist comment I doubt theyre friendly anymore. But ya Wes/Derrick definitely could have been, they could justify it with clips of Derrick from duel 1 saying Wes uses steroids. But Derrick isnt here and Frank is, if they dont use twitter beef for Wes/Derrick I find it hard to believe they would do it for Frank/Johnny thats just imo
