I had to give it a try since AMC has a really good track record as far as original series, and so far, I haven't been disappointed.
Set in the 1860s at the end of the United States Civil War, the series follows Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier, who is determined to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who murdered his wife. His quest for vengeance sends him westward to Nebraska's "**** on Wheels," the lawless town that moves with the construction of the First Transcontinental Railroad. However, things get complicated when a Cheyenne tribe attacks the construction of the railroad, determined to destroy the project because it is being built through their lands.
I thought the pilot episode was a little slow, but by the end it set up what looks to be some very compelling plotlines. I look forward to seeing more. I'd like to see if anyone else has anything to add and then we can start with the episode discussions!
I am glad you recommended this show to me, OPD. The first episode was a bit slow but that is understandable as they were setting the plate for the series. The cinematography is amazing with scene after scene pleasing the eye. The leads are compelling and I think episode two got things rolling with Cullen and the introduction of "The Swede." AMC does such a good job with their original series, I have no doubt this is going to be a big hit.
It's kind of boring,I find myself doing other things when I watch it.But the season trailer looks compelling, and I loved There will be blood,so I'll try to stick it through.

I haven't watched The Walking Dead, but Breaking Bad, Mad Men and The Killing all ran at a snails pace for a good part of their initial seasons, accented with moments of pure exhilaration - followed by another slow build to the next signature moment. It's too early to tell, but I'm hopeful that **** on Wheels will follow that trend.

I actually liked this premiere season a lot overall. But I gotta say....most. anti-climatic finale...EVER? That was disappointing.
Most. Disappointing. Series. Killing. Finale. Ever.

'**** on Wheels': Showrunner exits, putting season 3 renewal on hold Renewing was a horrible decision and I think they felt the backlash and changed their minds. With the death of Lily, half the viewers are set to tune out (e.g. Me) and ratings have already fallen off a cliff during season 2 without the Walking Dead lead-in. I personally see no point in continuing the series.
