The show should be cancelled. I have been watching RW since I was 8 starting with Hawaii and have been watching it up until the last season, SD2. The show hasn't been the same since its 19 season, Sydney (which is my second or third favorite season). The entire format of the show changed when the show was renewed for it's 20th season. Instead of it's original format of 7 strangers it became a show with 8, instead of it being a 30min show with 30 episodes it became a 60min show with only 12 episodes. This changed the entertainment value of the show. If BMP and MTV were smart they would have made the show like the Bad Girls Club or something closer to it. Why didn't MTV get BGC is beyond me... but I have the feeling MTV strays away from violence and extreme trashiness in their programing (BGC is entirely on another level than JS).
One thing I remember about the old cast members of the RW was that they where like role models... lols funny that I'm saying this, but hear me out. More than half of the cast members went to top universities, they were smart and intelligent, they had aspirations, some were already working in their desired careers. Any way all of the cast members after season 19 are all looser, except Alex from SD2.
I actually think the show changed with Denver to one huge party over actually going to learn about one's self or working on one's perspective career.
That is not a fair statement, Baya, Brianna, Will, Nick, Chet, C.J, J.D, Katelynn, Jonna, Ryan(24), Mike(23), and Callie have all had dreams and goals that they reached and pursued.

I disagree. I think the show needs a fresh perspective though, as it seems that anyone who has watched a few seasons can almost predict the first and last episodes with no difficulty. The in-house drama is almost equally predictable, and the club scenes... well, just the same stuff in different cities.
I'd really like to see a a cast that had depth in some cast and a likeable shallowness of sorts in others... people ready to grow, perhaps in spite of misconceptions. Maybe because the media is the predominate influence in today's youth culture, some cast applicants tend to see star potential (ala the Jersey Shore crowd) and act accordingly, or perhaps because reality TV is so pervasive on TV today, the original RW has simply been lost to history. I hope that is not the case, but I've heard the argument made. While I'm not sure a return to the "good old days" of RW is the right answer, but I'd like to see a fresh approach taken to the show, and one that included in the process the thoughtful comments of both recent and long-time fans of the show who for years have seen RW as part of their own lives.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. It's interesting how I'm able to make connections with the Real World to major events in my life. I remember watching season one over the summer before beginning middle school. Hawaii takes me back to my freshman year of college and first taste of independence, while San Diego (1) serves as a reminder of completing my undergraduate degree, getting married, and actually missing the finale on my honeymoon. The most recent Battle of the Exes challenge will forever serve as a reminder of the birth of my daughter as my wife and I watched the finale in the hospital the night before her birth. If I ever achieve relevance, my autobiography will be structured so that the chapter titles consist of RW seasons pertitent to my life at the time.
I definitely grew up with the Real World, and I have been able to observe changes in the show as society and reality TV have evolved. At this point, I've probably outgrown the show in its current state, but it's difficult to fathom life without RW. I do agree that a fresh approach is necessary in order to sustain the life of the show. Thanks for invoking positive memories.
I was watching "Real World: Secrets Revealed" and when they said that they take a warehouse and turn it into a house something was bugging me. So I [strike]got[/strike] have a question:
What happens to the house when they are done filming ?

It's returned to its original state.

On hiatus until they start up again...so they WILL be casting for more Real World seasons. That's good to hear :)
I assume they're on hiatus cause PDX is filming now, then the challenge starting, etc. They'll probably hold off casting until PDX airs.
And this is for the people who want to just be on TV no matter what show:

Hi everybody! I'm new to this website. I was wondering everyone has heard of season 0. Basically I was asking was this the one filmed over memorial day weekend in 1991? I heard from numerous sources that there were six or seven. Was this the one that was like the soap opera? Was this the one with Tracy Granstaff? On wikipedia there names are Adam, Amy, Dizzy, Jenelle, Peter, and Tracy. So in short, was the test pilot filmed in 91 called season 0? Or are they two different test seasons? Thanks!
I made a list of every RW cast member and where they're from.

You could have included those from RW: Portland to save time, but if your total is 201, then you should have everyone from the first 27 seasons.
27 seasons * 7 = 189
4 seasons with 8 ->+4 = 193
8 replacements (Cooke, Brittini, Nick, Ashli, Charlie, Jo, Glen, Beth A) = 201
EDIT: You're short 11.

Yeah, I was adding everyone up at the end and for some strange reason I didn't come up with 201 and I had NO IDEA why. Unless maybe I missed a state somewhere... hmm....
Here are some of who you're missing:
Sean Duffy
Montana McGlynn
Nathan Blackburn
Rebecca Lord
Julie Stoffer
Landon Lueck
Melinda Stolp
Ryan Knight
Eric Patrick
Mike Ross
And that's only 10.
Charlie wasn't from Serbia, he didn't even have an accent. I can't recall where he was from but I remember him going on about Britney Spears living up the road and how the only reason he was on TRW was so he could become famous and meet her lol.
Edit: Sun Valley, Idaho

Britney Spears was not from Idaho...she was from Louisiana.
And Charlie's MTV bio says he is from Yugoslavia, not Serbia.
EDIT: Charlie was from Idaho though.

Just done a google search and this came up, See the stars! - Sun Valley - IgoUgo - tsprincess
"Rumor has it Britney Spears has even bought a place here."
Guess that must be what he was referring to.

Hmm, interesting, but for some reason I just can't see her living in Idaho, hah.
Well I just got all my info from this wiki page
What I did was go through every state alphabetically, search through 'Ctrl + F'. I wrote everything down in a word document, and the page cut wear Wisconsin was, that was my fault.
Wisconsin: Sean, Julie S, Landon, Melinda, Knight (5)
On the Wiki page it said Charlie was from Serbia, I never saw the season so I have no clue really if he was from Idaho, so again, I'm not sure where everyone's from.

Serbia was formerly part of Yugoslavia.
I'm not sure if this has ever been posted here before, but I love it. Most of these are spot on, but I disagree with the order. If this had been made more recently, who would you guys add on? For me, It's Jasmine, Emilee, Aiiya, JD, Kim, Sarah, and Frank.

Kim was annoying during Hollywood? Or a different Kim? I only know here from the challenges and thought she was awesome

This was made pretty recently. I think during the Vegas 2.0 season.
I think their definition is annoying is different from mine. Even though a lot of the people they list qualify, I can't believe they didn't include people like Ashley and Erika, from DC. And Emilee. I don't even dislike Emilee or Ashley, but they were pretty annoying. And I definitely agree with JD and Frank. I'd throw Swift in there as well.
Kim was annoying during Hollywood? Or a different Kim? I only know here from the challenges and thought she was awesome
Well, IMO her ignorance was what got to me. Statements like "People strip to get money for drugs." "Let's not get ghetto." etc.. those were what made me get more and more annoyed with her and Sarah.

That's fair. I never watched the season but I can't say it shocks me that Kimberly would say something like that. Always thought of her as a bit "sheltered".
That list was interesting--thanks for the article. Some of those names surprised me. Coral being on there didn't make any sense to me but I guess she could annoy some people
