I also liked My Generation. I recorded both episodes when I wasn't home. I watched the first but still haven't watched the second yet. I looked on the TV schedule last Thursday to record it again, and it was not there, so I figured it had been cancelled. I just thought the idea for the show was cool, and I am not far behind their class, so I was happy to see the show. It's the only new scripted show I got into this season.
Yeah I liked the idea of that show too but didn't like what little I saw of it. I have seen that then and now thing before but cannot think of another example right off the bat. Seems like they did it a lot with the "Then" having been the 60's in my mind.
Is anyone else watching Off The Map? I don't usually like shows like this, but it's actualy really good! :)
I'm watching it because I like the main girl, Caroline Dhavernas from her time on Wonderfalls. So I am showing her a little loyalty and sticking with it for at least a few more eps. So far it's not too bad. Basically Grey's in the jungle. But as soon as they do anything as ridiculous as ghost sex, I'm out. ;)
I'm a bit skeptical about finding anything new that is good this fall on network television being 95% of what I watch is on cable these days. That said, I always do sample a few shows here and there, especially when there is nothing else on...

I gave "Go On" a shot last night. It was the encore of the pilot. Matthew Perry was great in Friends, he did a good job in Studio 60 and has sucked in practically everything else. I might watch it again tonight but it didn't jump out at me. The hard thing with half hour comedies is there is not a lot of time with the premiere to sell the series.

Well he's suffering from what I like to call "The 1 sitcom survivor syndrome" in which after a successful sitcom, only one cast member actually remains in the public eye and does successful things, while everyone else kind of fades out into the distance or just stops doing big projects for years. Said cast member could come back after a while, but it takes a lot of time.
Friends had Jennifer Aniston, Full House had the Olsens, etc.

I think you can argue the women of friends (well....Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox for sure) remained relatively successful. Aniston was the breakout star, but it's not like Cox has done too bad without Friends.

Right. Cox has the Scream series and Cougar town, so she's had some success.
Well, nothing is really on right now that catches my fancy so I guess I'll give Matthew Perry another shot (not that he could ever top his Punk'd episode.)
Other than Go On, I am not interested in any of these series. And can The New Normal just die already?
I thought the second episode of Go On was fair. I plan to give it another shot next week as I know that comedies need time to build.
As for other new shows this fall...it is slim picking.
I have a few new shows that I'm kind of looking forward to. I thought the first episode of The Mindy Project was pretty funny. Or, more that I really like Mindy Kaling and I thought it had a lot of potential. Pilots are hard to gauge, especially sitcoms.
I'm also looking forward to Nashville because it's getting a lot of positive buzz. I'm not a huge country music fan or anything, but I have a loyalty towards Connie Britton because of Friday Night Lights, and Hayden Panettiere from Heroes (first season), and Remember the Titans, and well, because I'm a man...
But the show I'm most looking forward to is Last Resort. I'm pretty sure they released the pilot early but I haven't caught it yet. Hoping it doesn't disappoint.

It's the latest attempt at duplicating the Lost formula.
I might tune in, although I don't have very high expectations.
I have heard good reviews about Last Resort, Nashville, and The Mindy Project. I will probably watch the pilot for The Mindy Project later this week since it is on hulu already.
I'll give Nashville a shot too, for Connie Britton. I hadn't seen her until I watched American Horror Story. Not a fan of Panettiere, but if the show is good, I'll stomach her.

To be fair, Jodie Sweetin pretty much crushed herself with her battle against meth/ecstacy addiction. I would have liked to see her do more; she's been working at a rate of about 1 indy film per year for a while now.

I'm tuning in solely because of her. Sooooo hot, and a damn fine actress to boot!

See, I'd watch just for Panettiere. It's the county music that I have trouble stomaching.
p.s. I love Johnny Cash, but modern country music all sounds the same to me.
I'm watching Nashville for the mere fact that I live in Nashville. And I guess I like Connie Britton as well.
I'll also give Revolution a shot because it's JJ Abrams. And 666 Park Ave. because of John Locke :D
Anything else...probably not.
I've never been less excited about any fall premiere. I'll probably give Revolution, Nashville, The New Normal and 666 Avenue a shot, but nothing really interests me or shows any "I'll be blown away"-promise. Still a good fall, because I'm very much looking forward to the return of Revenge, American Horror Story and The Walking Dead!
I'll probably give Revolution, Nashville, The New Normal and 666 Avenue a shot!
I'm slightly intrigued with Revolution, but I am having trouble with the premise. I might watch the pilot, but I am already prepared to be disappointed (being it is impossible to remove the physics of electricity from earth.)
Even if I was to get into the show, its expensive and on NBC. That basically means it is already cancelled. ;)
Edit: Of course, it was aliens! When you have a gaping plot hole, there are always aliens.

Destined to fail. Nothing JJ Abrams brings out now can beat Lost and that is disappointing in itself.
Destined to fail. Nothing JJ Abrams brings out now can beat Lost and that is disappointing in itself.
LOST was only disappointing if you were focused on the island and not the characters.
Well Undercovers was destined to fail. I hate the Revolution already and think it's two separate shows rolled into the one with THG garbage added as a spice. lol.
I want the Event back and immediately.
Shows I am looking forward to:
Go On
Touch
The Mob Doctor (though if I like it, I'll probably forget about it anyway, lol)
and thats it.

Really? Damn that is so sad. I didn't even know that myself. Well at least she's not Amanda Bynes, lol.
NBC Picks Up Go On, New Normal, Revolution for Full Seasons
I've been watching Go On and it is a serviceable comedy although nothing special.
I only made it to about 35 minutes into episode 2 of Revolution. It seems like a cookie cutter template of all the cancelled shows I have watched over the last 3 or 4 years. It is good news for fans that it got a full season pickup, but I don't think there is enough there to keep me watching over 22 episodes.
I've been watching The New Normal and Revolution. So far both have shockingly kept my attention. I'll continue to give them a shot, but if they get strange (more so Revolution), then I'm stopping.
I've yet to try 666 Park Ave. I gave Elementary a shot and hated it and Partners was also a no go.
I gave Elementary a shot and hated it
I only got through about 25 minutes. I could already see it becoming another CSI spinoff and since I watch Sherlock, I decided against continuing with a subpar product.

I also started the New Normal, at first only cuz I knew the guy from the Hangover films. But I've been really surprised that I actually kind of enjoy it.
