Rookie Blue - ABC
ABC is premiering a cop show tonight at 9PM ET that is actually a new Canadian drama. I'm trying to find a few new shows to fill up the DVR so I have something to watch on rainy days, and thus I'm going to give this a shot, even though it looks to be a generic rehash of every other cop show out there. However, they can't really go wrong with Missy Peregrym, now can they? YouTube - Trailer of 'Rookie Blue'
ABC retackles the police genre with a rookie twist on Rookie Blue, a new series that will debut on June 24. On the show, five rookie cops hit the city streets to do what they do: serve and protect. While battling crime, they also confront the demons in their personal lives to make the grade. Canadian Missy Peregrym, best known as Candice Wilmer on Heroes, headlines as perfectionist rookie officer Andy McNally. She's described as "the soul" of the close-knit group. Gregory Smith of Everwood fame also stars as another rookie cop Doy Epstein, the thrill-seeker raised by hippie parents. Travis Milne is Chris, a by-the-book cop who is described as "a walking police manual." Alice's Charlotte Sullivan is Gail, a self-serving politico from cop royalty. Finally, Enuka Okuma from 24 stars as Traci, Andy's street smart best friend and a single mom with a six-year-old son. Fresh out of the Academy, the five cops take on a world where the smallest mistakes can have life-or-death consequences, says ABC. Soon they realize that no amount of training could have prepared them fro the real thing. In the premiere episode "Fresh Paint," a high-stakes takedown of a suspect goes wrong, and Andy makes a massive rookie mistake, in the process endangering a long-running undercover operation. She tries to make up for it by going face to face with a dangerous gunman who's not hesitant to kill.
[via] p.s. I am going into this fully expecting the show to get cancelled.
I want to see this. I have my DVR set to record. :D
Yeah, you guys are covering what looks to be a pretty good Canadian show.
I'm only about 10 minutes deep, but wanted to check in and say there is no question that they are using a Grey's Anatomy mold for the parameters of the script and the show as a whole. Hot good looking people, with quirky happenings abounding and even an opening cast voice over narrative. I need to see more to pass judgement, but alas, I like Grey's Anatomy so maybe this is a good way to sell a cop show? Guess we'll see... Edit: And very cheesy lines.
This to me felt like the same setup that was given to the show from Canada which was also on ABC in the summer Defying Gravity. I wonder if they will face the same fate. Either way it was decent.

I thought that the guy from small soldiers being in it was crazy. Have not seen him in awhile.
10 minutes and I was in love with this show. Can't wait for the next one.
I enjoyed the first couple of episode, but I felt the bottom drop out this week. I don't think I'm going to tune in again. It was just boring.
I've watched the first couple of episodes too, and it just doesn't captivate you!

It's just so **** predictable. Everything about it...not impressed. :meh:
I actually like this show alot. Its part of my Thursday night lineup Big Brother then Rookie Blue then Bethenny Getting Married?. But I like the show. The dynamics are good. Its already renewed for a 2nd season so obviously people like it alot

It might not air in the US, but it will air.
Can't wait for the DVD release. I'm loving it.

Rookie Blue is my guilty pleasure! Thursday mornings I squeal because I know Rookie Blue is on tonight. (:

I had no idea this season was even airing (since May!) I've missed too much to tune back in at this point even though I did enjoy the first two seasons. I'm moving on.
Same here. I still love the show its just boring. Plus its the summer.
Rookie Blue returned tonight!! .. and what an awesome premiere that was!!! This is gonna be an fantastic season.. i can already feel it! Best primetime drama Canada has made in a long while lmao
I like Rookie Blue. I admit I watched initially for just Missy Peregrym but I've enjoyed the entire cast's performance. Of course, given my graveyard shift, I'll be following it via Hulu.

Now we wait for ABC to make it available online.

Oh **** no. I was told my **** was cancelled. :(
Another exciting episode! Why is Andy always getting into bad situations ****... walking into a bank robbery with no back-up whatsoever lol Happy to see Noelle back too! I can totally see Nick having a thing for Andy but as things go now, it won't happen anytime soon. Also, new girl Chloe is not what I expected... she's a little crazy and annoying... hopefully that gets better with the rest of the season. And so ****** we have to wait 3 weeks until the next episode! WHY!? Global/ABC suck! :(
I think this season has the potential to be one of their bests yet. I look forward to this show every summer, I'm glad its back!
I'm just a sucker for Missy Peregrym. Ben Bass has been a fixture on Toronto based stuff since he was Vachon on Forever Knight. Gordon Smith is always solid and Charlotte Sullivan as Gail has just been awesome. She has been my favorite surprise cast member of the show, especially after her kidnapping episode. Is it wrong to just enjoy seeing the entire cast again?

I love Travis Milne and Ben Bass, Charlotte too. Everyone is great.
